Use 3x black shirts as a window sock. Put them over the door when you park and close it. Now you can open the windows and have airflow but still blacked out.
this is really helpful and clever, thank u 👍🏽
@@fishfri thanks, I’ve recently been sleeping in my Prius instead of getting hotels when I travel. They sell a product called a window sock but the XXXL black shirts work just as well, not exactly water proof though. Rain guards on the windows help a lot, you can crack each window that way and no water will get in.
Also, you can put a bungee cord across the inside of the roof, in the front. I go from one of those roof handle things to the other. Then you can hang a blackout curtain over the bungee cord.
Lastly, I don’t know how much time you spend in the car or how much infrastructure is around you. But it’s very cheap to buy a 5gal container with a faucet attachment. I pay $3 to fill 10 gallons. It’s very useful to have if you can find the space. Just use a plastic container as a sink and dump it out .
i need to order window rain guards asap!!!
@@fishfri post more videos 👏
I used the mesh window socks from Amazon but just wear a face mask for light because I keep a face mask with me anyways
Awesome, and nice and simple nothing to complicated. There's something about the Prius rigs that I really like watching. Looks nice and looks so free! Makes me want to pack up my bags and car camp and travel 😫 😀
thanks ! yes the prius rigs i seen before i got my prius really inspired me to just keep things simple as far as the build
Nice video man. Hey with the tint is it hard to see out of the windows at night? Also, can anyone see inside at all either during the day or at night?
its not to bad , but recently from the heat my tint has now started bubbling so i ripped it off but its not to bad as far as at night wouldn’t recommend going as dark as i went
I've been traveling out of my prius for almost a year now and had no idea you could turn off the display... thanks for showing that!!
While mine is still stock and low it keeps people from stealing my catalytic converter. My neighbor has had his stolen 4x! But I'm in the city more than country. And I didnt want a prius but I fell in love with mine and am looking forward a camping trip in summer.😀👍 go prii!!!
Excellent setup thanks for sharing. Please do more vids on prius camping
thank you for watching! i will definitely make more vids 👍🏽
Nice rig! Awesome to see more plp into Prius camping and modding up there Prius ✊🏼🤘🏼
Just got back from camping in my 2013. I love it! Lifted and larger profile tires. MPG does not seem to have suffered. I can sleep comfortably in blazing heat or cold weather. I cut out reflectix panels for each of the windows and they work great for privacy and insulation. I just wish there were an inside latch to open up the rear hatch.
that’s nice !! i’m glad ur enjoying if u have instagram definitely send me some pics of ur build and prius @internetcowboy1 on ig
i also think i’ve seen someone make a inside latch for the prius that pops the hatch but i’m not too sure it is possible to make one though
@@fishfri
I think that’s what I’m gonna do. I can squeeze theough the rear passenger door right onto my bed but it is awkward, particularly with muddy shoes. It is much easier to get in through the rear hatch. I hear you can run a string from under the lift up panel somehow to open it from inside.
yeah that’s what i heard to and i’ve seen a vid of someone make a inside latch if i find it i’ll link it to you
There is, you just pop out a little plastic rectangle to get to it. It's a safety thing.
i've been wanting the van life for ages!
go for it ! u won’t regret it
Great looking Prius, Dylan. The combination of larger tyres with the tinted windows against silver paint really looks good. And you've fitted it how I would; no-nonsense essentials without clutter (some are so messy). Thank you for the video.
Absolutely brilliant. Good man. It’s like camping but without pfaffing about with a tent while it’s raining or the mosquitoes are out. A really good short scope of what you do, and how you’ve arranged the car for pragmatic sleeping-in and so on. To-notch man, loved this, do you. General Grabbers on a Prius? I like it, what do you do, tell me you don’t do rock-hopping…! If I see you on one of these cliff-climber videos in between caged V8 monsters with balloon tires, that spend half the time somersaulting, I’ll know you are truly mad. No seriously this was interesting I just got this vehicle, more or less, at retirement. Good ideas, thanks, take care everyone. Be nice and carry pepper spray.!
This is so cool, I want to buy a Pruis and go on huge trips while camping out of it and this gave me a bunch of great info, thank you!!!
Lookin' good!
Great video, awesome Prius, keep going!!!
thanks so much !!
Cool video! Thinking of doing something similar for my gf and I on some road trips. Thanks.
Great video. Thanks for sharing!
thanks for watching 🙌
Late comment but I like how clean it is 😊
New Prius 3rd gen owner here. Looking forward to seeing more videos to get inspired!
welcome to the channel!! more videos to come soon
and welcome to the prius family aswell*
Looks great with those tires.
Nice tour. I just got a 2022 Prius, a month ago, and even though I probably won't camp in it very often, I have been obsessed with Prius camping videos. Glad yours showed up in my feed. My brand new Prius is way over-the-top high tech and futurized, and more "bling" than I need. I like the simplicity of the older ones. But I'm 56 years old, had my 2006 Corolla totaled in a snow storm last year, and hope for this to be the last car I ever buy, so I went brand new. Also, used cars these days are not all that inexpensive. Anyway, thanks for showing us around your Prius. Keep camping and adventuring!
that’s so nice i’m happy u got a new car and chose a prius ! the new Prius’s are so nice i’m saving up all my coins for a newer one, hopefully i’ll get one soon:). if you use instagram feel free to send me pics of ur new prius i’d love to see it!!! my instagram is @internetcowboy1
also thanks for watching , and i’ll have some new videos posted soon of some adventures i go on
@@fishfri Nope, not on instagram. But the color is Wind Chill Pearl, and is more magical than I could have imagined! It looks totally different in any given sunlight situation. I was on the waitlist for six months! So I gave him a few different colors that I'd like, to up my odds of getting one sooner than later. When it showed up, I was blown away with the beauty!
Thanks for the tour!
you are more than welcome :)
You are so tidy! I love it!
I try lol
🇺🇸 like the Simple setup. Don't need much! I'm traveling within my Prius this spring!
thanks you ! lets just say i like to keep things simple
@internetcowboy should start a Prius caravan.
Cool car, man . Good luck on the journey
thx. appreciate u watching the vid 👍
nice neat set up...good job
Simple and clean.
Living the dream
real cool setup keep going bro🙌
thanks for watching, much love 🤙🏽!
Thanks for sharing your set up! Great idea on replacing the headlights, I have a Prius gen 3 also and have noticed how dim they are.
ur very welcome , update on the led lights. unfortunately they burnt out i wouldn’t recommend getting leds for the prius’s unless ur installing a light bar. something with the hybrid system of the car makes led lights burn out very quickly
@@fishfri ok thank you for letting me know! What are you going to do now to replace them?
@@april_stefanik i just put the oem bulbs back in and i installed led pod lights , if u want u can check them out on my instagram @internetcowboy1
@@fishfri awesome thanks :)
My gen 3 headlights are the absolute weak link for our 240k / 2010 Prius. The plastic lenses fog / abraid over time, and repairs are temporary at best (so far, imo).
Did you buy the complete, new headlight assemblies?
What have you found to be the best bulb options?
BTW, my F250 has become 8 mpg yard art since we got this car 😂
Thanks!
Very cool man.
Nice job Dylan. I like the lift kit.
thank you 🫶🏾
Very useful car right there
Congrats
Nice set up
thank you 😌
Awesome. I camp out in my hybrid too. Right now it's part time but I'm actually considering full time. Maybe we can get a group of us to meet up sometime
thats nice man , what hybrid vehicle do you have and that would be cool to meet up with others doing the same !
Bless you!!
Yea the gas savings and the ac use are great reasons for going with a Prius or hybrid vehicle
That car is awesome!
I heard another Prius owner say that he could have climate control while he slept and it cost him about a quarter gallon of gas.
yeah the climate control is great the only thing that scares me with that idea is carbon monoxide poisoning
@@fishfri You can buy a carbon monoxide monitor to alert you to any problems. Also, when you park, park facing the wind, too, so that the exhaust blows out and away from the car, and not towards the air you are breathing. If it snows, make certain to keep the area around the exhaust free from snow so that air can escape and not be trapped under the car to then be pumped back in to be inhaled. Stuff like that. Enjoy your travels. :)
Isn't there open air vents under seats near traction battery, unless they closed air flows out even with all doors locked?
@@samtx I honestly don't know the details of the air vents near the seats. I thought they were for incoming air, not outgoing. I don't have my Prius yet, so still learning. Best thing to do, however, would be to play it safe and have a carbon monoxide monitor so you would know early enough if things were going south. That said, I've seen Prius owners who stay in their cars in many forums online, and none of them have complained about carbon monoxide.
@@CarolinaCarolina-ph9mx not vent but I saw ground from near traction battery, maybe they are to let small air flow?
🎉🎉🎉
Great video. Got me excited to camp in my 2017 Prius V!
Btw, any tips for showering while camping in prius?
I've seen shower bags and pressure sprayers. Leaning toward the pressure sprayer.
sorry for the delay just seen your comment , for showering i’d lean more towards a bag , depending on ur elevation i’ve heard the pressure sprays stop working in different altitudes but honestly both are good buys i believe there are heated pressure spraying showers as-well on amazon
Kool 😎💯
I also live in my Prius full-time
❤❤❤❤
Where’d you get the lights in the cover photo? Super cool!
Great video 👍 not sure if I missed it in the video, although what size are the Tyres?
thanks man ! my tires are 28” General Grabber ATX
Wish the Prius Prime was this roomy.
I have the same car, same year, same color. What % tint did you put on the side windows? My state allows down to 35%.
Tour starts at 4:33.
Was that twin memory foam you cut it ,it looked 3/4 of twin size width
yes that was 1/2 memory foam cut in half
You should do an update!
will consider👍🏽
Do you plan on removing the rear seats at all?
i’ve thought about it but honestly it would only be practical if you were really fighting for more storage
Hey how much did you pay to have the lift kit installed?
did the install myself its not to bad if you have wrench turning experience took about 3 hours to put on
What size are these tires? 205/70/15?
correct!
Where are you camping?
What version of Prius is that?
gen 3
What’s your Tires Size?
28”
5% is enough?
it’s pretty dark at night for complete privacy and pretty much see through during the day
5 is the darkest
Friend! Please tell me the size of these boxes and where to buy them? Thank you very much
i will try my best to get you the size 👍🏽 all my boxes are from target
Just subbed bro! I’m inspired so I’m buying a Prius next week 🫡🫡🫡
thanks man 🤙🏽. definitely means alot , worth the investment!
Yes sir can’t wait to hit the road in it I was a truck driver for 6 years so sleeping in a vehicle and driving is basically what I live for! 🤩
being that your already accustomed to it, you’ll have no problem🤙🏽
