This is the stretch between Watagoda and Talawakele.
Note the dog running for his dear life along the track. It took a whale lot of patience on the engine driver’s side to keep up with the doggy’s pace eventually forcing him to apply the emergency breaks to save its life.

* Avoid careless/irresponsible/money-oriented/mega tour groups or organizers.
* Travel in small groups as Mother Nature can’t afford so many footprints at once. Stick to the designated trails or hardback surfaces at all times.
* Minimize the use of polythene/plastic and do bring them back. Please don’t burn them in the wilderness. Even organic/bio-degradable waste is harmful to the nature and animals. Please stick to the simple rule of “if you pack it in, pack it out”.
* Use reusable water bottles, plates and cups. Even paper cups/plates are harmful and take years to decompose.
* Remain quiet and vigilant. Don’t disturb the tranquility of the nature. Respect wildlife and don’t disturb them in anyway. Also be considerate of other trekkers.
* Please collect and bring any litter/garbage left behind by other careless travellers.
* Don’t light fires unnecessarily and do try to use portable cookers instead of using firewood when camping. If you must, only use firewood on the ground and don’t cut any trees for this.
* Don’t bring any plants back with you or cut any trees/branches unnecessarily..
* Don’t use soap/ shampoo when bathing in natural streams as they contaminate them and kill wildlife.
* Don’t do anything that harms the Mother Nature.

I also had the same experience near Thalawakale. The driver could manage to stop the train and a poor dog was rescued. The funny thing is they never get away from the track instead of trying to run with the train. Here you see the dog but in our case, the dog disappeared from the view as it was so close to the front bumper. when we slowed down, it came into view. we were happy.
Save the dog.good job.

1.ටිකටි E - සිසන් පත්රයකින් නිකුත් කිරම -සාමන්යය =ටිකටි BAR CODE ticket
2.ටිකටි පරික්ෂාව Private කරන්න Traffic POLICE වගේ Target දෙන්න.
3.Station out - e -support ඇරෙන වැහෙන Gate Colombo /Jaffna/Moratuwa/maradana/maha nuwara දාන්න.
හොඳ අදහසක් හැබැයි ඊට කලින් දුම්රිය මාර්ග පද්ධතිය දියුණු කිරීම, වෙලාවට ධාවනය වගේ දේවල් කරන්න ඕනේ
I wish they run these new trains on tracks that are prone to elephant crossings. These trains can stop very fast, have good visibility. Old locos dont have speedometers working.
Old Locos can't run on upcountry and we don't have enough of these
@@SriAbeywickrema I've never seen an elephant accidents with powersets. Its always heavy locos you will see elephant accidents usually the m2. I think only oil freight train should have these engines on Batticaloa and Trinco line and they should run them in day time at a reduce speed. Elephant accidents will come to a stop completely. Only 4 trains run on Batticaloa line 1 or 2 on Trinco line. I dont understand why they cant use powersets for passenger trains on these tracks. I think out of 4, only 3 are passenger trains on Batticaloa line.
How did you get into the Driver's Cabin of this train???

Hello! I love to go on a ride with the driver on Class S14 from Bandarawela. Someone, who also makes videos on trains like you told me that I should ask permission from the driver. I feel shy to ask because I don't know whether he will allow me. What should do and how should I ask?
It's not allowed for anyone else to go inside the driving cab. In case something happens, drivers will lose their jobs so they don't like to take others. However, you can always try asking them and as for me, I've been refused many times but I don't stop asking
@@SriAbeywickremaThe driver, who is driving the Class SI2 in this video seems to be a friendly person. I wish if I could meet him someday. Do you know where he is? Is he still serving in the Main Line?
@@potatochips503 This was 8 years ago, so not sure where he is now. Unfortunately, I couldn't get his contact details in my excitement
@@SriAbeywickrema Oh, that's ok. If I find a friendly driver on Class SI4 and go with him on a cab ride, I have to make sure that I will get his contact details before I get down at a station.
