The drawback with having VN passport in addition to US passport is that VN passport/citizen will take precedent; i.e. some legal obligations afforded to US citizen will not be extended to dual citizenship. For example, they confiscate your properties and you can only sue them in VN, not in US since you are VN citizen first and foremost.

Any sane person would not think that they are above the law just because they have a US passport.
