Can one stiff an old felt hat, will the colur not change
Yes you can stiff.... Depending on the stiffener, might change a bit to lighter shade
To get the shape without the mould what else can I use to get the shape
Anything you find dear, plate, bowl, vase etc once it’s solid and has the shape you want

It's the thickest softest pad. Some use it to make Duvets. You can get it where they sell tailoring material

Hmmm... I finally followed Ann's advice and took Woodglut. It's great for beginners and has some advanced stuff too.
