I felt that the explanation given for relocate fits more suitably to rehost. An example of relocation is moving VMs from on premise to VMware cloud on AWS. This is an ideal lift and shift scenario. No changes to the application and hence we can call this as "Relocate". An example of "Rehost" will be to move an on-premises MySQL database to Aurora. This will be rehosting of its database and will be able to take advantages of AWS features such as multiple read replicas, high availability across regions and zones. Happy to be corrected as I understand that many scenarios might overlap on both "Relocate" and "Rehost"
Outstanding work, Abhishek. In addition to his insights, here are some questions that emerged during the interview to assess your knowledge of migrating from on-premises to cloud environments:
1. How can you determine the inventory of the servers?
2. How can you identify the quantity of Windows versus Unix servers?
3. How can you differentiate which applications are dependent and which are independent?
4. What tools and technologies are utilized for transferring your applications and databases?
5. How can you migrate data and applications without causing any downtime?
6. In the context of AWS cloud, how do AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS Server Migration Service (SMS) differ?

Hi Abhishek, thanks for this wonderful video, I have a quick question, in the middle of a migration project how customer requests are routed? for example, you said migration can be done in phases, after the first phase of migration ( 50 Microservice Applications ), how real-time traffic will route to both newly migrated applications and the applications on-prem?

Papa what is the difference between cloud based load balancer and kubernetes serviced load balancer. Then what's a purpose of using ingress coz it also do loadbalancing. I am confused never done it. These are the steps .. to do practically in one video is impossible. Usually this process takes months in companies
@abhiskek.Veermalla you should create a couple UDEMY courses. One for cloud migration process and one for how to interview for a cloud job. You'll be in a niche because everyone else is teaching people how to pass certifications, nobody is approaching the way you did in this CZcams Video for tips on migrating and interviewing.

Hi, I believe it is less complicated when we migrate web apps to cloud before containerization because containerization of apps during migration will incur additional management overhead, expertise, and extensive upfront planning.

Question - if he asks for more in depth details, like how I ACTUALLY transferred them, can I say I used Application Migration service (MGN)? Does that make sense here - or should I say each application I ported individually by setting up Ec2/beanstalk instances, then copying over the code and data by docker images, and making it work? Just wondering how to handle follow up questions..

in one of the interviews the interviewers asked about the cloud migration, I started with the planning phase , identifying the services we have to move. plan for it, then migrate, creation of ec2 instances, rds, security groups, finally doing the parallel run and monitoring the performance before the final cut over. And then explained on how we tackled 7 Rs in migration. but he was not happy and did not qualify me for second round. @abhishek sir, any inputs or suggestions you have on this.

i am using free tier Aws account, I deleted default vpcs and subnet which are already there, I created a vpc with one public and private subnet,after creation of Ec2 instance its not getting the public IpV4 address,without that I cant connect to Ec2 instance ,please try to help me what is the solution to get the public ip address what are the settings do i need to do

In which subnet you are launching the instance ? Ans : It should always be public subnet for an instance to have public IP
If subnet is correct then check if public ip is enabled or disabled while you are launching an instance. I hope this helps because there is no other thing left.
