Love your sharp parody of all these almost standard bush-hunting reactions. eg. The upside down camera angle to indicate hasty movements, the over the top reaction to getting a kill, the giving thanks to whoever and whatever for the kill. These are must-have reactions in almost every video nowadays and has become so inauthentic. Thank you for giving us a laugh over these silliness Clay.
I have the feeling there was A LOT more footage from your time in BC that we'd all like to see! I say convince them to release it as your own show! :) Always enjoy your videos! Cheers from Nova Scotia Clay!
I'm really surprised these guys aren't doing more fly fishing those waters are pristine fishing.
@@scottinnh88 tied flys and store bought rods are prohibited. Trying to tie flys out of paracord onto assorted hooks without tools, then casting without weighty fly fishing line, sounds like a good way to waste a few days and go hungry.
Man idk somehow I knew u was gonna win and honestly I was rooting 4 ya "aside from the lady "Michelle" I think that had the neither in law with down syndrome" "my son has down syndrome so naturally I was rooting 4 her but knew she wasn't the winner lol" but I knew u had it mad u just seemed like fun day 1 rather 74 days 174 days u was gonna b ok but awesome new sub love it
You pretty well wrapped up 90% of all alone episodes. That was awesome.
A guide to arrow making anyone can do. You discuss how and why you make them and how they work. That sneaky grouse almost got away. Your joy that you will be able survive another day deserves an Academy Award. Maybe this grouse had more flavor that some pine bark that you might of found on Season 8.
Hahahaaaa!!!! That was pretty funny with the cardboard grouse. Made my morning better with a good laugh!
That ending was funny as hell. I've learned a lot from you and have been watching your videos for a long time. I started making bows in 2010 then went to prison but making bows and arrows have been a type of therapy for me. Thanks for all the tips and other cool stuff you have taught me oh and it's one thing to watch videos its another to actually doing it. It will humble you.
Anytime I can learn and laugh , it’s time well spent . Thanks Clay.
Awesome video. I was always curious how to make an effective primitive arrow. It looks to me like you cooked that grouse perfectly
Just finished Season 8 tonight and cheered you on all the way. Congratulations! You were awesome!
It's always the best when someone does a how to video like this that goes from making it, to using it, to meat on the table!
Just ordered your book, I have watched a lot lot and I mean a lot of survivalist over the past 50 years or so and I find you and your methods seem to be the best down to earth (pardon the pun) easiest to follow and remember. Your laid back style may have a lot to do with. When you were on along I had you picked as the winner after about 4 or 5 episodes. So glade you did win most deserved
Please keep the videos coming.
That's why I am such a fan of you and the videos you make. Looking forward to the next one!
The grouse ending had me rolling. Thanks for posting
Best catch and cook I’ve ever seen.
Haha nice video Clay, definitely sometimes quite surprising what they chose not to show (I think especially for the people who ultimately win) - that would be totally a blast to make one of those and use it successfully out there!
Lol. Great video. I like the little scene with the "grouse". That was right on point.
I knew you were going to win the show when I saw you were going to be on it. The first time I saw contestants shooting their arrows up in trees I thought………y’all better know how to make them. Between the broken and lost ones, they are not gonna last long. I can see how you are now sold on the true value of a multi tool, a great knife is a great thing, but many useful tools combined is sooooooo valuable. Great video, a split prong like that could also be used for frogs, baby gators and fish. Why does no one use rabbit sticks on the shows ? Some may have tried, but it’s very useful.
I had wondered during the show if you, or anyone, made any arrows to use on small game to save your main batch. Love the humor also. Lol
loved this but you make the straightening part look easy thanks for the vids
Love the reenactment Clay. That was fabulous. super nice dual point arrow. Jim Rodgers GA
A little Louisiana style blackened grouse always goes down a treat!
Probably the best video I've seen in a long time. I learned alot and got a good lol on the side!
Funny stuff Clay. Enjoyed.
Thanks for sharing this knowledge.
The stuff I’m learning from you may one day save my life… thanks for putting out this invaluable information.
You’re a legend. Thank you for sharing this knowledge with us! HILARIOUS ending!! 🤣
I like the added humor Clay ... keep em coming ... your channel is the greatest. 😁

I love this guy. So happy he won.
this is absolutely amazing knowledge. Thank you so much
Awesome lesson, and hilarious ending!! Well done, bro.
Thanks! Hilarious! I thought you were a serious guy . Love the humor. I never yelled " hey bear" out of season. I just talk if they stumble upon me without smelling me first . Then they run like heck !
Great video! Now, I want to go into the woods and cut some arrow shafts :D I haven't done anything like this since a was a kid.
Right on brother always dig the videos I've learned a crap ton videos and being a guy that loves the woods it comes in handy
Informative and funny ! Thanks for both.
Haha Clay lol, that ending was class 😀. Thanks for that film, was great 👍. Will definitely look up that whipping technique in your backlog of films 👍.
Cheers fella
Rick

I’m totally gonna make my own arrows now!
Hahahaha! Well done Clay and thanks for that humoristic ending.
Great video. Super info on survival skills, and humour too. Eating that cardboard grouse was the winning touch....new Sub!
Hilarious! Thanks!
CRACKED me up with this one !! good shooting buddy. see you in Compton
That's some good content getting the grouse at the end. Bet that was some good eating
Haha. Great video. Thanks
I love how your channel is often outtakes from the show lol
Charred Grouse that’s hilarious, the arrows are grouse that’s for sure, thanks so much for the video!!!
the end was actually hilarious
Well you have a high fiber diet I love it good job
Yes, the Arrows are amazing, and I would have done the same or very similar if in a situation like that making my own for small game though probably making a wood point tip using the fire to help make said tip for some slightly shorter arrows just to have for bigger small game under 40 pounds but about 20--25 or more for the animal. I just did not know about the fire straightening thing so I would have while still green done more a straighter heavy item on top on a flatter surface to get the arrows straighter. Now I know an important technique to straighten arrows that is easier then what I would do.
I understand this video is a year old but I laughed my ass off at the cardboard grouse.
Another great video brother!
👊😎👍 🇺🇲
This guy is awesome
I bet the History channel could make another few seasons with just the footage that never aired on TV. Would be pretty cool if they made a spinoff series just using the those scenes or maybe make it into a series for CZcams.
Muito bom 👍
hahaha... laughing so hard I'm crying. Great video and great book Clay! Can not recommend it enough. I'm reading through it for the second time. Thank you
Amazing!!!! Thank you grouse!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Instructive and funny thank You very much ☺️🤗 Good luck to You🍀
That was spot on man....good stuff right there...hilarious :)
So about making quick nocks on primitive arrows. Use the Ötzi method Leaf the shaft long drill a hole from both sides and cut a groove parallel to the whole around 1/4 ''above it. Then just carefully wiggle the end of the shat that splits out the nock. Also great for hafting arrowheads.
Mmmm.. cardboard tasty... great video!
Love from Pakistan
Very clever Clay - this is called 'avoiding breaking copyright claims', by vague associated and play acting. We get it man - well done!
nice...😁😁😁😁
Haha the ending was great, reminds me of Greg Ovens
Man!! I never saw the humorous side of yours!!
Now you can deliver Uber eats!!!
Thanks for your great videos Clay,
You a funny funny man Clay!
Cool to see your comidic side😀
Those flashbacks your having with the grouse! You really want to do it again don't you?
I have found shooting grouse with a bow very satisfying especially if the shot is made through a hole in brush.
Yes I need to order your book.
Hilarious and informative 🤣🙏🏻
Good 👍👍
Perfect droughts :))
Tastiest grouse ever!!!
That grouse looks nutritious!
I cut young hazel branches, zip tie them to a hard plastic pipe, and let them dry. You can tie 12-ish shafts around pipe (depends how large is pipe).
When you were running to get you "Grouse" it looked just like a scene from alone. 🤣🤣
@@clayhayeshunter This probably was base off actual footage never shown of the show.
Whatcha building Clay? Looks like a nice dry place under them conifers. Plus, very appreciative of Liz's channel and what she does.
Great. Loved the little comedy/humor part at the end. Bamboo is also great and pretty straight for making primitive arrows. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve found river cane as far north as Portland Oregon.
@@danstiurca7963 where the grouse tastes like cardboard!
