    Thanks. I'd add that I aim for halfway along the seam between the two side pieces and draw a cross with a pencil on some masking tape to give me a target to aim for with the drill.

    I had to use a 1/8" bit, it was more difficult to drive screw home on the KALA Travel Ukulele?

    What do you do if there is no block?

      Find another option that doesn’t require strap pegs unfortunately. There are a few.

    Hi, what would you recommend for a National resonator ukulele please? Concert size. Thank you 😊

      Do you mean a metal one or a wooden one? If it’s the wood one, just pick out some buttons from www.stewmac.com. If it’s metal, I’m not sure how to drill for that.

      I’ve been buying some from these folks, they are a little smaller than the guitar ones. www.etsy.com/shop/NuovoDesign?campaign_label=epp_buyer_shipping_confirmation_treatment_recs&email_sent=1678543363&euid=AGsO1-5LtJPuwB-n-X4fws7RnJd1&eaid=79615346&x_eaid=8de9d2ea3a

    Can I still install a strap button on the bottom if there’s no wood block backing?

    • @beansproutmusicalinstruments
      @beansproutmusicalinstruments  Před 2 lety

      You can try, but it might rip out and badly damage the instrument.

      @@beansproutmusicalinstruments It’s a cheap ukulele, but it’s a gift (for a 10-year old). I figure the strap will be very helpful for her, but I’m concerned about it getting torn out. I guess I’ll give it a shot…

      If it’s truly a cheapo, then I might consider putting a ball of epoxy inside the hole, to create a bit more for the threads to hold to inside the uke.
