Chinese Food and Thia has always been a favorite of ours. Over the years the cost has shot up because first generation restaurant owners raised there children and sent them off to college for a better life. The next generation who remained in the business recognized the need to upsell through larger portions, enhance flavor palate and marketing their reputation. Lotus of Siam now has 3 locations with the newest in Red Rock Casino. We prefer the Flamingo location and agree it can be pricey. (Sticker Shock) There are so many choices! We always order more basic Chinese or Thia food in other restaurants, but in this place we move out of our comfort zone. You need to go back and keep trying new things. I am thrilled you liked this place. Although, You did not need to get up and run out and try it when I mentioned it. LOL You guys are the best! Love your videos.

You had me at Koi Soi and Garlic Prawns. Easy walk to Lotus from Strip indeed.
I did look it up and it’s a mile and half, definitely walkable just not an exciting walk. Thanks a bunch
@@JoshRachael Yea tru that. From the Strip (Horseshoe) on Flamingo Ave going East past Paradise road is about 30min ugly walk. Better yet just take public transit on 202 eastbound for 2$ one way or 1$ fer elderly disabled riders fare.

The garlic pawns were very big,was the batter to,heavy or light.was that a soup josh eating.the pawns looked like to me as being the best dish on the table.

We went to Lotus of Siam in 2014, before it moved to its current location. It was in a VERY shady abandoned shopping plaza, and the restaurant was jam packed. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. That said, I haven’t been since the move and crazy price hikes.
I think it’s probably still excellent but leaned too much into the tourist markets and hype. Too bad, because it was a true diamond in the rough

My sister and I love Thai food and Lotus of Siam was on our bucket list. We ate at the old location and ordered everything that Tony Bourdain ordered from his Parts Unknown Vegas episode. LoS is known for their Northern Thai cuisine. That said, we were underwhelmed but the leftovers were fabulous.
How long of a walk do you think it would be from the Strip?
About a 30 minute walk, can definitely be done

Unless you have time or walking issues never rent a car in Vegas. Public transit is not shabby.
We take a lot of Ubers and Taxis or walk everywhere. This last trip was the first time we ever rented a car for a little day trip. It worked out and helped us get to a few spots we hadn't done before. Will have a video out on Sunday showing what we did.
I would fly to Vegas just to eat there. It’s delicious.

I've very much enjoyed meals here, but I do think the quality has dropped since my first visit a few years ago. Also, people should avoid ordering things like pad thai, their fried rices, 'typical' Thai dishes. They're decent, but just not their specialty/area of expertise- definitely go for the Northern Thai dishes / their special menu.
