  • This is based on Liszt's Consolation No. 3. When I practice that piece, I love twisting the written ending around a little sometimes to use as a modulation point(Or I'll follow it with a short improvised section that changes key) so I can improvise on the theme in new key centers. That was more or less the inspiration for this piece and it was a ton of fun to put together and play. I really like the 4/6 polyrhythms, they feel great in the hands and I feel like they carry a lot of emotion. Anyways, hope you enjoy!
Fun Fact: This Ballade is the same length as the Ballade No. 1 in Bb Major. In that piece the B section is in the key of B Major as well!

I love this one, I like the polirhythmic feel it has with the low notes in triplets and the melody in 16th notes. Definitely one of my favorites :)
