Just when you thought you had seen and heard everything, Thy Antichrist shows up.
The US based Black Metallers have been building an important fan base around the world since 1998 and are now thirsting to escape the clutches of the underground. Their appearance at the 2015 edition of the “70.000 Tons Of Metal“ cruise speaks volumes about their efforts towards this goal. Their previous releases are held in high esteem by European experts. Thy Antichrist music and performance is unique into the Black Metal genre, especially for the new album. The band has handcrafted a sui generis style into the live performance and music respecting the old traditional metal influence of different metal genres such as thrash metal, heavy metal, death metal and of course the Black Metal touch. Now it’s time for Wrath Of The Beast! Icy guitar cascades with a distinctive Scandinavian black metal character melt into thrashy nuances and progressive insanity normally reserved for the likes of the legendary Voivod.

Saw this performed live last Sat night in Wisconsin. This band is unreal in concert. I was blow away. Check them out live- the energy and passion is out of this world.

To some extent the lyrics were kinda cheesy and perhaps not well-thought. However, I really like everything else about the song. It has a pretty nice vibrant instrumental play and the singer is understandable to some degree. It feels like they are embracing Black Metal with Thrash, while using too much of Thrash elements, hence the kinda cheesy lyrics in some lines. I'll be listening to the other songs of this band for now, I hope I find with this a good band to my collection.
