The older I get the more I realize how awesome our music was back then. Glad you're enjoying it.
100% right!!.
Hell Yeah!!!
To me it's a lot better than today's music. The music from the seventies was incomparable.
A Bass guitar masterpiece
For reals. I am 100% 70s on 7.
Yâallâs reactions are the bomb!!!!! Lexi is definitely a rocker!!!! I think she was born in the wrong era!!! She is definitely a 70âs girl!!!!đđ»đđ»đđ»đđ»â€ïžâ€ïž
A rocker chick down to her bones!
The best part was when the song goes from a very slow tempo and gradually builds to the very fast tempo that it finishes with. Brad always just moves side-to-side with the beat. Lex is never static, she moves with the music, ever changing her motions. Watching Brad speed up with the tempo building until he could not sway fast enough was hilarious. I really donât think he knew what to do at the finish! Lex was just jamming! Loosen up Brad, you will feel better.
@@maxbrazil3712 And very beautiful too â„ïžâ„ïž
Idk man I see her being a product of 70s and 90s as their love for Slipknot
White chic in a black body
Foghat could rock the hell out of a song. Great blues-rock. British band.
The 70s were so fun. Concerts were cheap. Music was unbelievable. The parties were jamming. It was great to be a teenager. I will always remember the fun and the friends back in high-school rocking at these amazing concerts. You buy a ticket for a seat that you never use because everyone just rushes the stage.
I love you guys, Brad is always so serious analyzing the music and Lex is just rocking out. đ. Great reactions guys !
Exactly!! Lex is the best!!!
Nailed it
I was a teen in the 70's...... Lex you would have been fun to party with back in the day
She'd be fun to party with NOW :)
I was a teen at that time also.....loved this!!!!!
She's totally an old soul
@@krisfrederick5001 100%
I was thinking the exact thing..
Lex is a feeler. She gets what makes music fun. Feels it in her soul
Lex is so damn adorable and fun to watch. To see her get into these classic songs that I remember hearing when they were released back in the day, makes my day.
Foghat was one of the best live bands. Every time. Arena or stadium.
Also one of the loudest!
Yes!
Saw them headlining for Triumph in Houston and they were unbelievable.
My first concert.
Foghat is an underrated band, imo. Their song Fool for the city is also classic!
Why are they underrated? Because they are not mentioned in the same breath as say Boston, Skynyrd, CCR, BOC? They wrote one of the greatest 70s rock songs ever but that's what the majority of people will remember them for.
@@BatFan1 what I mean is, if you ask anyone under 40 who foghat is ,they'll say huh ? Most people of any age have forgotten them, tragically. They don't really have a huge catalog of #1 hits, but they're still a great band
@@tilemonkee5510 34 and I know/ love them. My babe is a favorite of mine by them. I always thought they were from the USA till I looked them up years later.
Side note the 2010 FOX show âthe good guysâ jams their stuff, itâs buddy cop comedy that got canceled too soon IMO, only one season.
All of the versions on Foghat Live are far superior to the studio versions. That right there is the mark of a great band.
@@tilemonkee5510 Right, and based on what you said they arent "underrated". A great band isnt forgotten. You cant have it both ways. I get that you are a fan. And you might recognize other songs of theirs. But history has shown they are who they are, for lack of a better term, a one hit wonder.
Brad. The end of the song is the âCLIMAXâ to the SLOW ride. I know you know what I mean. All in fun. You guys are great. Thanks again for sharing this video with us. đ
could only appreciate the musical equivalent in adulthood. dood made his guitar climax sounds like
Lol it sounded like a ... Trip...
Ya, definitely that ... Like when you... *snicker
... Arrive somewhere...
*ROFL. XD
@@stvsmith1791 From an old chic, if you could last till the end of this, you were a GOD. haha.
Dazed and Confused immediately comes to mind with this tune.
Yep. That's what I thought as well.
Aliens man!
@@HandleTakenlol "The dollar bill is green to"
"That's what I like about these high school girls. I get older, they stay the same age. Yes they do. He He He"
Yup sure does....classic
Love Lex. She's a natural-born ROCKER!! .
for sure
Lex: âSo ok thereâs an electric guitar in here that sounds like a trumpetâ
Brad: âReally I got to listen for it"
Lex: "yesâ
Brad: "Like knee me when it comes on or something"
Lex: "Ok Iâll let you know"
I loved that exchange đ€Ł. But to Lexâs credit sheâs right
OMG, I'm a 53 year old dude and watching Lexi rock out to this just makes me grin ear to ear! Good music is timeless! You two make a perfect pair.... Brad, very deep and intellectual and Lexi just rocking like a star! Keep up the good work!
Zackly... same here! Nuff Said!!! Lol
Such an old school 70s vibe. Simpler days. Simpler music.
Better music not simpler
Studies have shown music from the way back is more complicated than modern music.
Music is less complex now.
Not all new music is this way but a good portion of radio today is computer generated crocks of đ©. I was born in the wrong generation
What I meant by "simpler music" was not aimed at the composition, but the technology. Pure human talent back then. Now? Hardly see any bands playing instruments.....a lot of digital computer enhanced sounds and vocals.
I would love to go to a rock concert with Lex, what a blast that would be!
Yes I'd like to be right there cause we both be ROCKiNG
Lonesome Dave Peverett was one of the greatest singers/rhythm guitarists/front men of classic rock. R.I.P. (and R.I.P. guitarist Rod Price). Foghat was a hard rocking concert staple in the 70's and saw them many times.
I believe Lonesome Dave was a member of Savoy Brown too.
@@ronnym1977 Yes, and so was drummer Roger Earl and bassist Tony Stevens
@@mvellis3863
Oh really?
I had a chance to meet the Foghat members in Minnesota back in 1988 but couldn't make it to the bar gig they were playing. They were a great bar band back then. St. Paul/Minneapolis area. Peace and keep on rockin' !

Taxes over due face that's awesome.
LOL!
That cracked me up! đ€Ł
After reading your comment i looked at his face and about died laughing đ€Ł

I feel like you could drop Lex into almost any musical era and she would completely vibe with the music. Another great reaction to one of the classics!
Lex's interpretation of this song was BRILLIANT.
I grew up jamming to this song. Yâall crack me up so much Brad is so serious and lex just jams out.
Lex you would have HAD A BLAST AS A 70As Brat lol
70âs Classic Rock just Hits Different
Facts!
Sure does!
With Lex and her feeling every note of a song, letting it take her away to another place and then Brad analyzing every word and part of the song, you give us a well rounded look at this music I grew up with and just took for granted. You 2 are made for reaction videos as a pair. You both bring something different to the table. You give me a new perspective of the music I grew up with. I thank you guys so much for sharing with us.
Could be one of the most under appreciated jams of all time. Should probably be in the top 10 hard rock jams of all time.
Hahaa My husband from the other room, "Oh Man. I like that." đđ€đđ€
@@mattbecham597 husband here. I was self-pleasuring if you must know
The sound is a Slide Guitar. A Glass Tube on one of his Fingers and you slide it up or down the neck and you get that sound. Lonesome George Thorogood used it also. Check him out, Bad to the Bone. Slow Ride Is Epic. đđđ€
ZZ Top's song Tush has a good slide guitar in it too.
To me, Greg Alman was an excellent slide guitar player.
Duane Allman was probably the greatest slide guitarist of all time, but Rod Price (who played on this) is criminally underrated. Listen to "Road Fever" or "Honey Hush" off of their Live record. He's blistering.
@@waynedahlen9655 Yea that's what I meant. You know as we get older, we might be talkin to 1 child in the family, but we have to go down the whole list of names until we hit the correct one. Lol
@@mikeadams2677 hahahaha!! Been there Done that!!
My favorite all-time tune. If they play this at my wake, I swear I will rise from my box and play some SERIOUS air guitar!!
Lex is definitely a 70's rocker chic. You missed the days back then when you could go to a concert say Aerosmith and Nazareth together and just them two bands would pack 17,000 people in the stadium. Nothing better than the '70s and '80s for music.
This was a "cruisin" song like many others, that's what we did on a Friday/Saturday night when no events/parties were going on!
Yes this is a cruisin song, but it was also the song they played at the skating rink back in the early 80s once a night on the weekends for guys only which allowed us to go as fast as we wanted from start to finish.
For gals only, they got either Foghat's Fool For The City or Deep Purple's Highway Star.
Cruisin every week, same place
It's a fucking song
Listening to this song I canât help but remember the ending scene in the movie Dazed and Confused
Going to get those Aerosmith tickets!
Yes!
Alright , alright , alright. this movie was my high school days.
It was originally supposed to be Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin that played at the end when he put on his head phones, but LZ wouldnât give them the license for the song.
Brad always looks serious while Lex letâs the music wash over and through her. I love it!!!đ
That was my reaction ,when I 1st heard it on the radio in the 70âs ,my head was rocking outâŠ
A real classic I remember paying pool while listening to this one.
for me cruising Sunset strip with some of the coolest people I have ever known.
It's just a straight up f*cking song, OK. The greatest ever!
Why arenât there more songs with the reverse metaphor-my car is like my baby.
Listen up young drivers and hear me speak,
My Jaguar is high maintenance, sheâs in the shop every four weeks
I canât keep her going, I donât have the tools, pop open her hood and I feel like fool.
This is harder than I thought. Maybe a verse about pimpinâ my ride?
We always carpool cause she likes more inside
It was a mistake to start pimpinâ my ride.
Well done listening to the long version of the song!
You guys really need to watch "Dazed and Confused"...one of the best soundtracks out there, and it's just about a day in the life of being a teenager on the last day of school in the 70s. On a side note, I think that it's Matthew McConaughey's first move, and you see a very young Ben Affleck super early in his career as well. Other well known actors in their early days, too.
Heard this song thousands of times in the 70's at the local game-room. One of the most played songs on radio. Good time to be a teenager.
I was in Jr High when this song was popular. I remember my GF had this on vinyl & we were dancing to this song over & over in her bedroom! I donât think we fully grasped the meaning of the song back then âșïžđ
This song has been everywhere. Video Games, commercials and movies: most notably, Dazed and Confused. đ€đŒ
Dazed and confused best movie ever. You'd be a lot cooler if you did. đ

Tony:
I can't say.
Mike:
No, you can't give a build-up like that and not deliver. You know, a perfect female body, itâs not a bad start.
Tony:
But with the head of Abraham Lincoln. With the hat and the beard, everything. [pause] Well, best not to think too deep on it.
Mike:
Best not.
Love how Brad is studying yet groovin and Lex is just rhythm and gets right into it. :-) Love you guys.
So cool to see Lex rockin' out like we did back in the 70's.
The young man Brad is so serious when listening. It's like he is analyzing every bit of the songs. Kudos young folk
Reminds me of the movie Dazed and Confused. Alright, Alright

Hey you cool man?
Party at the moon tower.
Watch the Leather man !?
Wooderson lol. I knew a dude that looked like Slater, and he got high like him.
This song got lots of play at the rolling rink back in the 70's
Classic rock baby making music. I love it. Can we recognize the beastly bass guitar here đžđ”đ¶đ”
Keep going on this 70's trip with Frankenstein by Edgar Winter Group, an instrumental rocker (no lyrics of course for Brad to connect with but he'll be fine.) and More Than A Feeling by Boston. Both staples of classic rock.
That would be a great song. No lyrics, but the music is âwittyâ enough to appeal to his intellectual side.
I just hit subscribe. I like Brad but I watch for Lexi. She is so cute with her reaction to songs!
True
I love that we got to listen to the extended version with you! The 4 minute radio version is not as good with the awesome jam at the end.
There were a lot of radio stations that would refuse to play this song when it was released. It would take fans flooding the station with request or petitions to get it played. It shocked certain members of society that much, that they tried to keep it banned off of the air. I love all of your videos, and love your points of view. You 2 are wonderful.
I think I finally figured Brad out. He likes 70's classic rock that's not too heavy and not too "busy."
And he likes automotive metaphors. I think they did Gary Numanâs Cars. They need to do Iggy and the Stooges, âThe Passengerâ.
@@MarcosElMalo2 and Queen's "I'm in love with my car."
Love this song and band. The climatic ending was actually the climax. Remember what the song was aboutđ
You couldn't have two different reactions to a song. Brad analyzes, and Lex feels it. This is us as as humans. I love both reactions, maybe Lexi more! Rock on! xoxo
I was a teenager when this song came out. Blew me away, so many parts, the riff is straight forward. Love Lex's reaction, she would have loved the 70s. Back when music touched your soul, hanging out with your friends. One of the greatest rock songs of all time. You guys are great
Absolutely one of my favorite songs of all timeđ„đ„đ„đ„â€ïž
Foghat slide guitarist Rod Price is the sound you like. They were amazing live, saw them in July 4, 1980 at the old Citrus Bowl in Orlando!
Damn, would've loved that show!đ€
we rocked in the 60's and 70's, badass bands and great songs
This is 70âs rock turned up to 11 ! đ„đ
Lex said that it took her on a journey. No doubt, she's feelin it. So fun to watch.
Peter Gabriel "In Your Eyes" at the secret. The live version. You'll see what it was like when black and white folk made music together.
Hmm...Axl and Slash, Eminem and Dre...and I really thought I could think of more examples...
@@Tanatie Eminem? That hack.
@@JoeBlow_4 I guess Skunk Anansie, Thin Lizzie and Jimi Hendrix experience would be a few other examples
@@Tanatie I know there are thousands; I just want them to review that live song. ;)
The contrast between how you both react to the song and analyse and almost always come to the same conclusion is great - love both of your chemistries
This one always reminds me of cruising the parks in Spring when everything starts warming up.
The most important pit stop in the circle of life.....Brad, just say it. It's about sexy times. It's okay to say that.
Evil Monkey rolled a joint and put on the headphones to this tune when he was off-duty.
I have no idea what that means but I like it....oh wait....family guy lol
Yes!

Awesome Comment
Best song I ever got a speeding ticket to in my life. They're GREAT in concert. Love this tune!!!
Ah, the late great Rod Price on lead guitar (here on slide), with the late lead singer/guitarist Lonesome Dave Peverett (another fine guitarist) were the dynamic duo live on stage. Lonesome Dave passed away in 2000 from cancer, and Rod Price in 2005 from a fall at home. FYI Mr. Price and I had some great conversations together on music, guitars, and the crazy but great 1970's concerts. Seen the original band 25+ times. The band today has only the drummer, so to me it's more of a tribute band touring for the past 20+ years. Without Dave and Rod it AIN'T Foghat!
former members of Savoy Brown, great band with Lonesome Dave!
This song is best played on Wednesdays.... you know, hump day.

Saw Foghat in concert. Great concert. One of my favorite bands. RIP, Lonesome Dave.đ„Č
I've watched a bunch of Brad & Lex, and it finally occurred to me... together, they are 'greater than the sum of their parts'. If Brad or Lex had their own individual channels doing these reactions, they wouldn't be half as good. Together, they really cover the bases making for a great reaction vid. Thank you to them both for the smiles and laughs!
I was in a total crap mood, then watched you guy's reaction and immediately got to grinning. Not really a comment about Foghat, (although they were a badass group from my childhood), just really enjoy y'alls energy. Keep doing what y'all do!
One of our old cruising tunes đ đ ââ€đ€
I met the Bass player in the bathroom of a nightclub in my hometown when they had passed through and played. I always seem to meet the bass players of bands. Anyway, he was a real cool dude and even played something funky for me that night. I ended up buying the band a round of drinks as they played their asses off that night!
LOVE Foghat! Yay! Gone but not forgotten: Rod 'the bottle' Price. One of the great unheralded guitar players. Foghat Live is an all time classic! Thx
I think this may be on Bradâs playlist for special occasions đ„°
The instrument was a slide guitar. Masterfully played slide guitar......
You guys bring me back to great memories. Thank you so much!!!
Lexi, I appreciate your appreciation of music. Brad, your eyes during the song were hysterical because you knew exactly what was going on.This version of Slow Ride is the "long" version. FM Radio played the short version. It was too "Sleazy". đ
Saw Foghat a few times back in the day .. They never disappointed... Rocked from the start of the concert till the end ... Lex is into the music like I was ... I never analyzed the lyrics as a kid .. actually still donât ... đ€Łđ...

Had to go out on an errand a little bit ago. On the way back, just a few minutes ago, this song came on. Now I'm listening to you listen. Groovy.
Foghat fuckin killed it live. I've watched some of their live shows and I have a new respect for them!
This is the first song Brad didn't pause right away.

The bass player is killin' it.
I saw Foghat at this small club near Fort Hood where I was stationed in the early 90s, and they were awesome! Lots of really big bands used to play at that small venue, and you got to see the band up close, and hang out with them after the show. It was great.
