We dumped and preserved an cancelled/unreleased GBA game! I-Ninja was to be a handheld version of the console game with the same name. The game focuses on high-speed Sonic-like experiences in a 3D environment.

This game really nails the gba 3d. I'm impressed.
Super impressive!
Dude, you should check out OpenLaraGBA.
If I-Ninja is impressive, OpenLaraGBA is ASTONISHING !!!

@@904funny They did not develop this GBA version. It was Coyote Handheld and DSI Games

The programming tricks here are captivating. Reminds me of that one Asterix & Obelix game.
didn't expect you here.
Don't you have some bees to release somewhere?
Hello Kenny!!! 👋😊
Loved I Ninja as a kid
Please upload again, senpai.
I'll be honest, that doesnt look like a bug, but instead like some data degredation/error while dumping. In the screens with the head and the scrolling background there is clearly some corruption on some tiles and random stray pixels. So some bits seem flipped.
He's not playing directly off the development cart when he's playing on the GBA. He's playing the dumped rom through a rom cart.
@@krisc1684 Yes, but it might be bitrot on the development card or a broken dump. Either way, the bugs probably weren't there when the dev card was new.
@@tr7zw how likely is it that the bitrot issue you're describing only affected emu and not real hardware, for the exact same rom dump?
@@krisc1684Most likely, a bad dump. A proper dump is 1:1 to what the rom chip has in the cart.
@@krisc1684 if you actually go to the upload they thank this channel for the dump and a review there says this video is using the real cart as when they loaded the rom onto actual hardware they still get the same bug and ask for a redump
I remember playing I-Ninja at this odd kind of arcade when I was younger, it’s honestly kind of surprising this GBA version never got finished and released.
I made that game! I did all the graphics. I still have the Development PS2 with the dev version of the game on... Somewhere.
It looks great. Seems like it would have been memorable if released. Was it planned to be almost entirely a runner with the chain run mechanic?
Hey I recognize that Coyote logo. They also developed the infamous European exclusive Home Alone game for the PS2.
Oh no😂
The bad game reached mass distribution, the good GBA one didn't find a distributor ... a classic.
Prograph Reasearch (an italian developer) produced a great GBA F1 3D game called GP-Advance, but they didn't find a distributor.
They also developed a "banal" 2D game (street jam basketball) and that have finded a distributor ...
Oh well.
To answer about the barrel rolling level, there are ones like that in the console version. However, they are a bit more challenging since the barrel is full of gunpowder and you have to navigate it through a stage to blow something up, without prematurely setting it off of course.
As for the last stage that broke, It would have been, assuming it was to be as accurate of a recreation as the giant robot fight, a shmup that was vaguely like the original Starfox games.
It's amazing how y'all have gone from beta questing all the way to debuting actual game betas & unreleased titles, absolute legends

You know a special game called EarthBound 64?

I-Ninja is such a hidden gem! One of my favorite games of my childhood on the gamecube. So cool to see what the gba version that could have been!
Wow... that 3d on the gba looks AMAZING. Wish this game had released!
Very impressive. Makes me wonder why it was abandoned. I can speculate obvious reasons...
Addendum: for those wanting to get it off the archive, it is gone.
I immediately saw the Ninja, recognized him from a game I never owned, and couldn't help but get engaged.
THIS IS SICK! I-Ninja was super underrated back in the day and was such a solid game stoked to check out this unreleased slice.
Found the console version of Ininja at a Shopko when I was 8 and I was OBSESSED with it, such a hidden gem
this is amazing preservation, thank you for this!! i had no idea there was even gonna be a gba version
If the game is content complete, it might be possible to iron out the bugs to bring it to a more playable state. Still cool, either way!
I remember seeing ads for this port and was so excited to have a fully 3d game on the GBA. So glad this prototype was found.
00:53 tell me you've only played sonic adventure DX (specifically DX) without telling me you've only played sonic adventure DX
THERE WAS A GAMEBOY VERSION????? I loved I ninja so much as a kid, underrated masterpiece.
I haven't played I-Ninja specifically but it looks like so many games I played at the time and was so nostalgic for.
this looks like sonic 2 special stages turned into a game
Unbelievable. I really thought I-Ninja was a game only for large platforms to show performance.
A techinical master piece as this might be one of the best 3d gba games ever! Looks beyond fun!
I Ninja is the most criminally underrated cross platform game, and quality voice acting. Cool GBA game too apparently.
I-ninja was a wonderful game on consoles. Played it when it was new and it stuck with me ever since
YOOO I-NINJA!
YOOO CAKE
Pickles happening all over again
This is honestly one of the most impressive things I've seen running on a GBA
This reminds me of Sega Saturn. I'm disappointed Bug didn't pick up bigger than it did
That mech fight is a boss fight from the real game
1:09 is it bad that i could instantly tell that's billy west lmao
Especially the "It wasn't my fault!" at 1:17; heard Red M&M immediately lol
I love I ninja so much, cool to see a game boy version was in development
Thank you! I'm a huge I-Ninja fan, some levels I could even complete blindfolded. And since I found out about the GBA port, I wondered for 16-17 years why was it cancelled. We had screens and I wished I could play it. And finally after all this time, 17 years I found out it's actually real and played it. I still don't know why it was cancelled. I was able to complete even the level that was broken for you - Ventis boss fight. It's been a long time since some game gave me this much fun 🙇♂
iNinja was such a damned good game. It came out around the same time as Ninja Gaiden on Xbox, and it gave me similar vibes to it. The title name is unfortunate, because it sounds like shovelware. But aside from that, gameplay had a lot of variety and well polished.
That looks like the Yoshi Topsy Turvy cartridge!
Been subbed since 2011, crazy to see you guys so close to 100k subs. Keep going Tony 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Wait, I-Ninja? I loved the Gamecube version. I didn't expect the GBA version to be this ambitious, though.
Tell me if Don Bluth's name is in the credits for this one, too.
having not heard of iNinja before, I thought for a moment that this was a sequel to Zool: Ninja Of The Nth Dimension.
That would technically be Ninjabread Man XD
Sonic can learn a lot with this game
Imagine a Sonic 3d racing game with that level engine. Nice stuff and discovery as usual.
Theirs something about 3D games on GBA that I just love.
OH damn! There was gonna be a GBA port huh? Never knew that. the original game was pretty fun.
Your contributions will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you so much for your service.
What a shame this was never released, it looks like fun
I would have bought it if it did
But I'm kind of glad that now we're getting it for free when we weren't even going to get it at all
The is incredibly smooth for a 3D game on GBA. Shame it was cancelled
How on earth do you not have 100k subscribers? Well deserved!
Incredible discovery ! Thanks for your work guys ! ♥
Probably the coolest is Dinosaur Planet. Been playing the patched version of it on emulator.
The music sounds very, very familiar.
I remember playing the gamecube game as a kid and all I thought afterwards is how it's never talked about.
NICE !!
I absolutely LOVE this kind of *findings !!! 😍
How to download this masterpiece of a game ?
I cheked out the link, but I can't find any trace of download button or description/review of the GBA version of the game.
I need to be subscribed to the Codebound channel to get the access to the ROM ?
*Especially GBA related 3D stuff.
Should be available now.
@@hard4games
I found it ! 😃👍
Thanks 😊
Keep on going like this !!
Thank you!
Will you be making any of these Rom dumps available?
Does anyone have a download link for the GBA version?
I'm not really looking to torrent anything
This is awesome! The console version of I-Ninja is so good. Thanks for the hard work.
Wow... I never expected this to be found.
Thanks for preserving this important history!
I just bought the console version a few days ago, amazing timing
What emulator did you use? mgba i hope?
This quality of game is amazing show games like ratchet and clank would be perfect and possible to play on gba in 2D form. Unreleased and rare games are a treasure just like the famous McDonald game for NDS that was found and dumped
Great job i love this channel!

links are to the right now.. or did youtube only change for me?
What emulators were you trying it on?
I used to love I-Ninja when I was little
Wow I-Ninja in GBA
Do you buy up lots of prototype carts? I saw several lots of very old Gameboy and nes prototype carts I'd like to forward to historians/archivers to make public.
You guys should try to track down jet Force Gemini gbc. Someone on CZcams has a copy
Looks pretty impressive for a GBA game. I wonder why it got canceled, maybe it was behind schedule or something.
I love your videos man
great work
Oh fuck yeah portable I Ninja! I had no idea argonaut was behind this!
I just wish INTO THE AM's clothes ran to my (admittedly very large) sizes. .w.
this unreleased gba game are actually cool and sadly have glitches and cancelled 😢💔
😮 WHAT?! I-NINJA had a GBA version?! holy crap this is amazing 😮
it's one of my hidden gems on GameCube (it's also on PS2)
let me see plz 🥺
I NINJA!
The PS2 game was sooooo fun
Thanks guys
What a find!
Woah I ninja for gba, cool.
Awesome!
Have any of you seen the mystery spaceworld mario 64 etsy prototype cartridge? Its selling for like 8k and even the seller doesnt know what it is. Id dip into my retirement fund to get it but i am not able to dump cartridges like yall can.
I-ninja advanced dang
I had this on PS2. It was crazy. lol
Thanks bro
Hopefully someone can hack it to make all of the content playable (or, at least, viewable).
The much vaunted I-Ninja Don Bluth animations were never actually used in the final build ! They were of such bad quality they were unusable .
How do I download your dumped games?

Thank you só much!@@hard4games
This game looks braaaazzzy on the gba wtff
This is so rare 😮
Does anyone have a working rom mine crashes.
NVM realised it’s the emulator had to reinstall it and try it on GBA4ios
why are you using gba4ios, it's obsolete. unless you mean delta
This could have been so cool

Does the 5 languages work? So fascinating
Megaman megamania for gba?? Never get a relase date, I don't know if the media is allready found?
