Oh hell. Thats why I’ll continue to watch. “Over the shoulder toss of the Ford GT-350” LMFAO well executed for effect. I spit coffee on my screen.

"And I lost the will to live!" HA HA HA HA. I felt that way a lot during that build. The GT40 looks awesome. that color is fantastic. love how the light plays with the color.

I agree with you Paul. Life’s too short to build rubbish kits when there are so many good ones available. Good call on the GT40. It’s one I’ve wanted to build for ages.

Check out the 1/24 scale Revell/Monogram '71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda. Being from US always had to build monogram and AMT kits this one stood out as the best build I ever did of those cars.

You are an excellent and very informative model maker. Thank you for sharing. I will be getting my Fujimi '66 GT40 Mark II in the mail soon and I cannot wait to start working on it. Sometimes I wish I lived in the UK because it is SO hard to get all the good supplies and paints here in the US. SO many model shops across our country are closing down or don't have the supplies we need. It's all coming from Amazon or needing to be shipped over from UK online shops. :(
I really want to buy a few bottles of "Zero Paints" custom light blue (Ken Miles '66 Le Mans color) but, it is virtually impossible for me to get here in the US. So sad.

Nice video Paul. Very timely as today I'm going to make a start on my gt 40 which I am doing all the Ford v ferrari cars starting with the black kiwi driven winning car. Will even be using the gravity colour anthracite black also which was a freebie for the whole debacle. Looking forward to follow along with the series... Cheers Paul

It looks great, I didn't expect that color to look that good. Especially with the way it shifts colors, it is awesome. You should do a stock gold color which is a pale gold wheel.

Hi paul you should give autopaint St. Helens a visit they have literally tons of stuff that may interest you, a car refinisher friend of mine put me on to them when i was spraying my classic car, their range of different lacquers might be handy for yourself, they have a quick hardening 2k that might help with dust? Plus they where really helpful

Kits I would recommend for American Muscle - I'm particular to Ford and Mustangs, FYI:
Tamiya's Ford GT (basically the newest iteration of this GT40). Haven't had the pleasure yet, but the videos I've watched it's a beautiful kit - but it is a Tamiya kit, so what do you expect?
Revell's 2014 (I think) Boss 302 (and honestly any of their kits of the newer Mustangs and Shelbys are pretty good). They also did a new tooling of the 80s Mustang 5.0 in the last few years but I've been having trouble finding it lately.
Also, in your perusals have you seen any kits of the Saleen S7 other than the 1/32 one? It's my all-time favorite car and kits for it are even rarer than the 1/1 version

Nice Paul! I have to resume my GT40 ones, I have 2 on the go but all my modeling has come to a halt in the last months for multiple reasons, Your videos are always an inspiration! about the color of the wheel you could try some copper / bronze what you think?

Hi Paul, loved the video, especially the comedic humor.
Can I ask what was wrong with the kit you tossed?
I was going to build it.

  • @toboldlygosmodelworks1973

I glad you ditched the AMT kit - I remember building one of it's stable mates back in the early 80's, never again they were awful. Hence why I don't build car kits now.
