My Live Dawless Journey

- In this video I play music created while on vacation In Hokkaido Japan using the Elektron Digitone and also a few virtual instruments in Studio One. The idea is to start creating elements that I can use in a live DAWless set. All sounds from the DAW will eventually be sampled and imported into either a Roland SP-404 MK2 or the Elektron Digitakt MK2. The sounds from the Digitone will stay there and just become a part of my live rig.

Fantastic. 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much!
Also a new dawless youtuber here. Constantly looking for others to relate to and be inspired by. Your channel is one of my absolute favorites right now and your music is amazing. I'm also at the point where I need a reset in my life because I didn't grab the opportunities I had when I was a youngster and I realize now that was a huge mistake. I still need to work my dayjob to pay off my mortgage and provide for the kiddos and my dayjob is fine, really, I have no problems with it. But I'm now dedicated to slap out some tunes every week and take the time to do the things that really matter to me outside of my family life obviously. Cheers mate all the best to you, I'll be following your journey!
Yeah. Sounds like me but no kids here. I'm not taking life for granted anymore and doing my best to not let any opportunities slip by. I truly see life as a blessing these days. Much love and support!
Exactly, you've got it right 🫡
I used to DJ and write music in my 20s. Was kind of popular until about 32 but the party scene caught up with me and i withdrew. Didnt do it for years. Im now about to be 43 and been rebuilding my studio. So many cool toys today vs 10-15 years ago. Almost TOO many options. I think reducing that palette down to a few toys and sounds is key otherwise its just "preset hell". I tried a whole bunch of these new toys (some cheap some expensive) and sold many of them over last 6 months. Slowly narrowing it down to just a couple I really like shaping that sound. Then time to make some things. If anything just for fun. Because isnt that the point? Age dont matter.
I'm having a ton of fun right now, and yes age doesn't mater. I agree with having too much gear. I have cycled through many pieces over the years. Time will tell if this live rig I recently set up a few videos back, is overkill or not. For now I'm excited to start to work out on it as I just got back home yesterday. I'm not sure if I am really up for the party scene anymore myself but I do want the experience of performing live again. I always found it incredibly rewarding.
We all need a spiritual break now and again, that's for sure. Thank you so much for sharing and of course for the wonderful music! Have a great day! ❤🚀💫
Thank you for listening!
Sounds wonderful! 😍
Thank you!
very nice performance and I like the visuals to zone out with
Thanks for the comment. I always have a camera with me but I find it hard to fit in the footage. Most folks are just here for the music. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great vibes. My ears thank you.
My Soul thanks you!
Very Well !!
Thanks It means a lot to mme.
Great tune and great insight of your process. You definitively got something there, keep going brother. Your music is of course on point but I really like the video format too and the work you put into. A joy to watch!
Thanks man. To be honest it was a mistake that made the video come out like that. I used my iphone and didn't think about the aspect ratio so when i dumped the footage into my video editing software, it came out like that. I was surprised but wasn't going to shoot it again so I just worked with what I got. Also I have been filming the beautiful countryside I'm staying in so it actually worked out that i could fit in some of that footage. Thanks for checking in!
@@SoulSearchingGaijin yeah filming the countryside was amazing. It feels a bit like the south of Bretagne in france. I really liked it., very peaceful and not overcrowded
Embrace it. Random accidents can be nice. Devine creativity contributions 😎 🙌🏼
