Abraham is a prime example of a man of faith who received God’s promise, knew his purpose, yet had to wait years until the promise was realized. Both Abraham and Sarah waited until they were well past their prime, and the circumstances must have seemed impossible. But, as Bishop Jakes emphasizes, circumstances don’t matter to God.
The core of his message is that you must not settle for less than God’s best. Don’t accept less than what He intends for you. When situations seem too challenging for the vision God has given you, don’t give up. Fight for your purpose.
Bishop Jakes reminds us that it is not God’s wish for us to just make due. He is sovereign, and can do “more than you can imagine or think.”
