    Hey everyone! Today's video is another "edit with me" video as I self edit a chapter of my novel using this awesome book editing tool, ProWritingAid. It can even be used for free, as long as you are patient. Do you use any software to help with editing your writing? If so, which software? 😊

    I am brand new to the free version and have found it somewhat overwhelming. Thank you for this tutorial, as it has clarified many points for me.

    Thanks for this! I bought PWA with my teacher’s discount and I use it for novels. I always use red pen to mark up my first draft printed pages then I put each section in PWA and edit using a combo from the 25! types of scans it can do. I’m about to check my passive voice, adverbs, and sentence length. I LOVE this program and I tell every writer I know about it!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    This was such a unique tool to see in use, and yeah you're right, 'novel' wouldn't be the right word. But at the beginning 'into' her hands does sound more natural than 'onto' her hands, since it gives the imagery that she has her hands upright and her head is going into her palms. Using onto gives the imagery that she has her hands laying down with her palms against a desk or something and she lays her head on top of her hands. Idk if that makes sense.
    Thanks for making this video. I've been using hemmingway for my own digital/software editing but I think I might switch over to Prowriting Aid now!

      Ah fair point, when you explain it that way, I guess "into" her hands is what I was actually going for, thanks! Hemmingway is also really nice, I have a video on that as well, but I much prefer Prowriting Aid, it's got so many more features.

    Thanks for the video, Iasmina! It seems like a very useful tool! But, I was looking through their website, and currently, it is only available in english. Have you heard about a software that works in a similar way, but in spanish? (it's my native language, so... 😅)
    Keep making such awesome content! Cheers from Chile!

      @@IasminaEdina It's ok! Don't worry 😉. There must be something similar. I'll do my research 😊

    Oh phew a digital editor. Typically when I give something I write to a person to edit it's always like:
    Me: Alright obviously I want this to be the best it can be so I need good and honest feedback, don't hold back.
    Editor: oh yeah sure, like right here this sentence isn't grammatically accurate. You have to write it like this to make it make sense.
    Me*fighting back tears*: But....but i don't want to write it like that.

    • @IasminaEdina
      @IasminaEdina  Před 3 lety +2

      I find there is always a middle ground in those situations. You don't have to accept every single edit suggested, but if, like in your example, a sentence isn't grammatically correct, you can still rewrite it to be correct but still have it be in your own voice and style, if that makes sense. There is usually a way to appease both ends, you just have to spend more time finding it 😅With these digital editors, a lot of the times they cannot understand what you are actually trying to say, so their suggestions are way off.
