Alpha 1.2.6 was my favorite version back in 2010. I have a lot of great memories when Minecraft was actually a challenging and simple game.

well there is no hunger bar but eating is the only way you can heal so that’s why they still need food. It existed but there was no hunger bar.

The reson why cris died was because back in this version of mincraft if the water was less than 2 blocks deep it counted as fall damage

When it was actually scary when it got dark, and creepers were actually deadly. And I still wish this was the health system, hunger bar has always been terribly designed. Also this isn't the oldest, this is right before the beta version, but the biggest milestones in this game have been Alpha 1.2.6, Beta 1.7.3 and 1.0.0

Creepers were not deadly. They only exploded when they got killed. After that changed the creeper still wasn't able to one shot someone. One shotting creepers got into the game in 1.8
@@bbbbbbbb3158 ???? Creepers were quiet due to low audio files, had extremely large damage radius because no explosive resistance and would instant K/O. The only way you can K/O now is if you stand absolutely still and do nothing. They have been nerfed consistently as time went on, they're a joke now.
It cant be the oldest version because the server software is absolutely terrible pre alpha 1.2.6. Like mobs wouldn't spawn it wouldn't save your log out spot and bunch more

actually the first version was cave game it was just a square piece of land made of grass and cobblestone and you couldn't see your character take damage sprint or jump and there was no mobs the only thing in the game was grass and cobblestone and the only game mechanics was walking around and destroying and placing blocks which was just grass and cobblestone

Correction: this is the oldest version of minecraft that was beatable, there were prototype versions that were from 2009, and the only world was a floating island, which contained of grass (for Fortnite players to touch) and Cobblestone, and that was the only thing going for the game, then all the updates came in and here we are in 1.21

You can have skins in Alpha. You just need to use a few tweaks that makes old Minecraft work with the newer skins systems that newer Minecraft uses. The BetaCraft launcher does this.

The reason why chris died even though he landed in water was because in the older versions of Minecraft, if you jumped from a height that could damage you and you landed in water, if the water is only one block high you would take fall damage.

then there should be some versions in that big list that start with "rd." Those are the oldest.
