Why are so many of you so disrespectful of Lisa, you know nothing for her life, I am glad to see them back playing together, one day you will grow old and have health problems, grow up and if you can't say positive supportive words then keep silence, this music will go on long after we are all departed, thank you Dead Can Dance for wonderful inspiring, otherworldly musics, Love and Peace ☯☮♥

Humans are curious creatures Leslie and seeing Lisa SO DIFFERENT and BLOATED might concern people.
Who said anything about being disrespectful?
As an avid supporter of DCD I take offence at your silly comment. Again, the nature of people today trying to SILENCE others if they have a different opinion.
Lisa's voice is superb here, and to be honest, when I first saw her walk onto the stage I gasped.
So I am hoping all is well with Lisa.
Geez...we can't even express opinions anymore. Well you ain't stopping me from expressing mine that's for sure.

@@Skiptondesigns also stop whining about not being allowed an opinion. it's very telling of you to say that, because considerate and thoughtful people do not share your experience. if you're so concerned about Lisa's health go ask google for news before you consider making this comment section go off topic with an issue which you very damn well know turns toxic instantly (at least since the greedy tech industry made the internet available for every last little derp out there). use your brain and show a bit of responsibility. and don't defend the bodyshamers because you can't own up to your own mishap. that's just disgusting.

Dan-you don’t know her and don’t know what has caused the weight gain-there are many health conditions and medications that can cause this, most commonly corticosteroids- that is what caused Cocteau Robin to gain weight-asthma medication.
Maor- the human voice UNFORTUNATELY ages just like everything else, especially the female voice. Lisa and Brendan wrote and recorded this music over 35 YEARS ago, meaning if she was 25 then, she is 60 now. It is ridiculous to think that their voices will not have weakened and lost some range. That’s why I won’t go see Elizabeth Fraser live with Massive Attack this year, I want to remember her voice like it was, not like it is.

Agreed! I used to see them in concert quite a bit back in the nineties and they had giant crowds completely stunned into silence.
It was very captivating. They’re coming around again after 2019 and my mom is asking me to take her. I have no doubt they’ll be wonderful again!! She started listening to them in 1980, I was a little shit but recall being mesmerized by them on our road trips and at home when she’d be cleaning the house. In high school I played them at home on the record player for my friends who all lost their shit, and then they toured and into the labyrinth came out, then toward the within, then spirit chaser and they were all over the US so we just kept going and they kept inviting us so why not?? It was a nice summer, friends were touring with the Dead and so was I, and I saw the Dead a few times but preferred this sort of Dead tour.
I met them and hung out with them a couple times too, thoroughly decent.
Lisa does not do anything but go to rest after concerts. She’s extremely tiny and she would glide into a waiting car with a simple smile, wave, nod and thank you, and be gone. I was told absolutely zero “fun” with her, as in no partying. She truly sees her body as her instrument and from what I heard/saw she takes her voice very seriously. Brendan wasn’t wild either, it was the guys in the band and their crew that had all the fun 😂
Brendan hung though, a beer, a smoke, but nothing WILD. They were all pretty civilized to be honest. Also, extremely KIND. Hearing them for decades has instilled a beautiful continuity and faith in beautiful music.
They may not be that famous in the US, but those who know, know. They always sell out shows, they’re recognized.
It’s just not by the crowds who smear music around without any appreciation.
TikTok-ers who don’t even know what they’re listening to.

As one who was always alone, I first came across Dead Can Dance in the 1990s on a radio program called Echos. I was still in high school and I remember Lisa’s ethereal voice like incense rising to an unknown place I’d never traveled. Life has taught me that no matter how you look, who you are, what you’ve done or what you have not yet done, we are not alone. Lisa made me feel like I was still needed by someone. Music is the voiceless soul made audible and Lisa is eternal, beautiful and so much what the world needs to feel! Thank you Lisa!

  •  Před 3 lety +9

This concert has taken me a quarter of a century back to when, as a young adult, I was finishing my universitary degree: I enjoyed an hour from 6 to 7 a.m. in the gardens, in a hidden covered square listening to this same music. Like Ulysses in an odyssey of self-discovery, what I have subsequently lived has brought me to this path, to rediscover the meaning of what I was hearing then and now I return to enjoy with the full understanding of what I felt so many years ago. They never stopped accompanying me, but they goes and comes back, like every wave, vibrates at the right moments and every time I listen, it causes me the great emotions that I receive from each rythm, frome each melody, from each drum, from each string, from each voice, from each song, different for each one of them. I am very grateful to Lisa and Brendan for all that they have given for so many years and that they continue to do so. I still wish to be at a live concert. Thank you thank you thank you.

Having stumbled upon this video I'm filled with emotions. First I am filled with nostalgia as I grew up listening to DCD in my teens and lived through teenage love with them by my side. Second I'm filled with sadness for those who seem to believe that there is merit in age, weight, appearance over voice and beauty. It has been said in the comments already and I'd like to say it again... close your eyes, open your ears and listen. Every note, every sound, every individual in this performance is exactly who I and so many of you have been listening to for many many years. All you need to do is close your eyes and open your ears. However IMHO I have no need to close my eyes and frankly chose not to because each and every image of each and every person in this video is beauty to my eyes and bliss to my ears.

Why are the looks so important to some people? The fact is we grow old and change, our love, humanity and artistic skills can remain the same (or often improve). If Lisa was selling herself as a size 12 super model you could say she was past it but as a singer you have no reason to judge. She has the same amazing voice that I want to hear in my final hours on earth.
Old age rarely comes alone and those nasty comments may come back to haunt you. Anyway she still looks great to me.
Weight gain has many reasons, all the shallow disrespectful remarks are more of a statement on your own personality than someone you have never met or understand.

DCD is completely and utterly transcendent. Their music can't be placed inside any particular genre. They are completely unique. I do large sound baths in my backyard upcountry Maui, and always, before the sound bath while guests are arriving I play DCD. It puts me into a trance that helps me perform the bath. It never fails, many of the guests ask me who that was that I was playing. Every time I play DCD to people who have not heard them they fall in love and become a fan. Lisa is the Goddess of the Universe.

He heard two high school blokes talking about The Cure, Pink Floyd, Enigma, being in bands, drumline, etc, and asked us if we'd ever heard DCD. I'd heard OF them once. He put on The Host of Serephim. We left with the A Passage in Time CD.
AND he took down the Enigma MCMXC record sized cardboard poster he saw me eyeballin' right off the wall and gifted it to me. Great day.

I have enjoyed DCD and especially Lisa's voice for many years. I am not a fanboy so haven't kept current on their various travels and challenges so I was a bit shocked to see the change in Lisa's appearance from the last video of theirs that I had watched....until I realized that I too have "bulked" up a bit in my retirement and also look older than I did 10-15 years ago. Humans age, even goddesses with ethereal and eternally beautiful voices and souls.
