    If you have fuses in equipment that must be working, buy spare fuses in advance. The emergency repair you made is dangerous.

    OK Ive been a qualified electronics technician for nearly over 45 years. I see all your comments about the fuse wire but if you do what Daniele did, which is to use a very thin wire then test it to see what current it blows at, then thats valid. If however you use really heavy wire compared to what was originally in the fuse then thats a really bad idea. How do you all think they make fuses? I didnt hear anone saying something bad about opening the plug pack... what about the capacitors inside, what if they dont treat it right. What if they plug it in without putting it back into the plastic cae. Lets get real. these videos all need some small ampunt of common sense. They are rarely going to be watched by people not learning a bit about electronics. Keep up the good work Daniele.

      @albertolaurella9168 Před 3 lety

      Generally speaking yeah, especially if you can simply replace it, but as a quick *momentary* fix it can work, more than once I just kinda connected the ends through wire just to see if that's the issue or whatnot

    • @saurus738
      @saurus738 Před 3 lety +3

      @@albertolaurella9168 still not a recommended way to troubleshoot, if the wire replacement amp rate was higher, your device/equipment may suffer.

    • @jeanlesueur6936
      @jeanlesueur6936 Před 3 lety +4

      @@albertolaurella9168 No this is dangerous, even for momentary use. In most case, when a fuse is blown, there is a real default like a short circuit. Guess what happens if you make a bad fuse for it. You may end up with fire, burning metal projections and even projection of cracked glass. Believe me, the glass tube may explode in some cases, I have already saw this.

  • @jaromirandel543
    @jaromirandel543 Před 2 lety +5

    1:45 Rather than soldering wires I recommend using the crimp sleeves. It is IMO faster and easier and you don't need any cable holder. 7:20 - never do this. The fuse is safety device to avoid damaging the stuff behind it. By bypassing it you risk the damage of device in better case. In worse case you risk the fire and your own life. The recharger should be never repaired for safety reasons.

    For aluminium you should be able to solder it if you submerge it in oil, polish the metal surface (e.g. with a knife blade), then apply solder *while keeping the aluminium covered in oil.* If air touches the metal for even an instant the solder-resistant (sapphire) layer will form. For soldering onto aluminium sheet a drop or two of oil on the soldering location should do the trick.

    If, one is in desperate need to repair a glass fuse, just remove the caps, and put the thread inside. The fuses are not vacuum bulbs, the thread is meant to "burn".
    The glass around the fuse, is just to prevent fires, and also to prevent metal particles to splatter over the rest o the electronics.
    (No, still, no, there is never vacuum in fuses. If there is vacuum, it's a bulb, not a fuse =P)
    Oh, and another thing, it's called a 'Soldering iron'. Tin welder is a "Engrish" word, commonly used in places like Aliexpress, Bangood and the likes. Not the correct word, but still a word to know, when looking for soldering irons. =) (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldering)

    Il fusibile è elemento di sicurezza, inserito per evitare incendi. Evitare il fusibile con un filo (non adatto) vuol dire mettere in serio pericolo la sicurezza elettrica. Se il fusibile si brucia vuol dire che c'è stato un guasto che ha portato ad una sovracorrente. sostituire i fusibili con il filo, soprattutto nelle nuove apparecchiature che utilizzano l'elettronica di potenza, potrebbe portare a violentissime esplosioni, ed il magnetotermico non è detto che intervenga perché le correnti d cortocircuito sono molto alte (specialmente nei magnetotermici utilizzati in Italia e in Nord America che utilizzano curve C oppure D). Se il fusibile si brucia NON deve essere sostituito con un filo neanche in casi di emergenza. Chi si è trovato con un cortocircuito su un apparecchio senza fusibile e senza magnetotermico sa cosa succede.

    • @DanieleTartaglia
      @DanieleTartaglia  Před 3 lety

      sono pienamente d'accordo con te, ma ti posso assicurare che mi è capitato di fare questo intervento più volte nel mio lavoro e credimi, nel mio settore non posso permettermi di aspettare un giorno per conseguenza di un fusibile bruciato. Questo è un' intervento che deve fare solo un tecnico che sa come ripristinare un fusibile rispettando la corrente massimale. Non è sempre detto che se un fusibile brucia, è perchè c'è sempre qualcosa che lo farà bruciare. è chiaro che se anche quello ripristinato dovesse bruciarsi, allora bisogna capire la natura del problema. Non è una cosa da fare, ma in emergenza, in assenza di un fusibile, con le giuste competenze e conoscenze, è una cosa fattibile. Mettere un filo di rame di grosse sezioni, è da stupidi perché c'è l' alto rischio di bruciare l' apparecchiatura che utilizza quel fusibile come protezione, ma potrebbe fare altri danni molto più seri. Le soluzioni in emergenza, nel mio lavoro sono al' ordine del giorno, ma bisogna avere le giuste competenze.

    To all commentaries that say "do not solder batteries or li-ion cells":
    This is clumsily worded advice and also wrong.
    Sure you can solder batteries and Li-Ion batteries, but only with the right solder and a good soldering iron.
    If you use leaded solder, you make the first big mistake.
    It is true that the melting temperature is lower and therefore more comfortable for many other soldering jobs.
    But to solder batteries you have to use lead-free solder, because when the contacts of the batteries are heated under load,
    the leaded solder may soften, the resistance of the bridges decreases, and then heats up even more until the solder joint comes loose.
    In the worst case, this can cause a short circuit in a battery pack and destroy it.
    Most lead-free solders have a higher melting point and suddenly change from a solid to a liquid state, without a viscous intermediate state,
    as is the case with leaded solders.
    The most important point, however, is the soldering iron and the soldering tip. The soldering iron should have a temperature setting and
    should be able to maintain this setting or correct it very quickly. The soldering tip should offer a sufficiently large contact surface and
    have a high temperature storage capacity.
    Finally, it is essential to ensure that only the contact surface of the battery is heated as briefly as possible so that the solder adheres.
    If the contact area is heated too long (especially at the negative pole), the heat is drawn too far into the interior of the battery and can
    cause damage there and make it unusable.
    A tip is to put the batteries in the freezer for 1-2h before soldering. So the heat does not pull too quickly into the battery core during soldering.
    As you can see it is possible to solder batteries, but without proper equipment, knowledge and experience it usually goes wrong,
    especially for beginners.
