You guys didn't get one of the best parts of the set. He's referring to student suicides in India when he said warden witnessed for the first time in his life that a non-living thing fell from above. A brilliant dark joke.

They got it, but were uncomfortable to laugh I think as it was a bit dark.
I think they did understand that. Just preferred not to react to it since it could have been something inappropriate to laugh on.
Dark jokes are to be understood. They are not for laughing.

Yes, you're 100% right Rick, Bassi said this in an interview "journey of a joke", that he finds something new to put in a comic set every time he performs it on stage. And the version of the set uploaded on youtube takes a year or a year and a half of stage performance, improv additions and story editing to reach where it is finally. He's a freaking amazing storyteller and gets better time after time. Love his style.

He was a former Supreme Court lawyer. He left his practice for his passion for stand up comedy.

This stand up was simply HILARIOUS! His accent and dialogue are immensely enjoyable! Wonderful job of subbing too! It's great that you could understand the nuances 😂
I attended his show recently it was 2 hour long continous jokes callbacks and crazy crowd work and last half hour was pureopen mic and It was more fun than upmanyu's set that I watched a month back. HE is BRILLIIANT.
When you completely believe the story no matter how stupid it sounds, you have lived in an Indian hostel my friend!😆
And you can create great comedy just with your life experiences.😅

He doesnt talk fast ,its just the language structure that less words are used to explain the same but in english those translations require more words.

Man you decoded him absolutely right. I heard one of his interview he told that he tells the story and see the reaction of audience and then refines it based on it finding the best possible selection of words.
