  • The all-new 2024 Land Cruiser is here and the team is on-site to check things out! This new vehicle was built from the ground up with the heritage of the Land Cruiser in mind.
    Featuring a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that delivers 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, this vehicle is ready for both the trail and the road. Locking rear and center differentials, disconnecting front anti-roll bar, and 33 inch tires come on the vehicle from the factory.
    We can't wait to get in the front seat of the new Land Cruiser and put it to the test!

    Of the many videos I've watched in the last 48 hours, this is the best. No reciting specs, just a simple walk around and genuine interest in being there. Great find with the GM of Toyota NA. The strategy makes sense. You can't make everyone happy all of the time. This will get more people interested in the brand and the uses for these rigs. Perhaps that will increase the value of my FZJ80...

      I hate being told that the Prado is bringing the LC back to its roots. First of all it’s a Hybrid, second the Prado has always been a weird situation here being that its sold as the GX, and finally the roots of the LC is the 20 and 40 series which as we all know is continued today by the 70 series. I’m sick of Toyota as this point, I’m let down by every single new truck they have put out since the new Tundra. Fine sell the Prado here, I’ve always wanted to see it happen, but don’t lie to me and use buzz words to convince me how it’s a return to form. I’ll stick to my 80’s and 90’s Toyotas from now on.

    I'm not seeing the 25 year, million kilometer service life inherent in the previous generation LandCruisers in this offering.
    I'll be buying one as it's my first opportunity to do so with a new one, but I'm very skeptical of the long-term ownership outcome.
    Having owned eight LandCruisers, an FJ Cruiser, and a Tundra, I'm placing the bar very high for this truck.

    Sequoia is in the product lineup of Toyota which is I think on the same chassis of LC300, which makes sense when they dropped off LC300 from US lineup. Land Cruiser since its beginning is an adventure off road vehicle and it was not a near luxury SUV which it later became.

    • @nwezetx1
      @nwezetx1 Před rokem

      Please stop referring to "chassis" if you don't know what you're talking about. It's pretty misleading to the next person reading your comment.
      The XK80 Sequoia, this J250, and the J300 all use TNGA-F. And are also each distinct vehicles on their own.
      Please understand that and stop thinking the Sequoia is somehow some Land Cruiser in different skin via "same chassis".
      TNGA-F is scalable enough, only the 310 Lexus and 300 Cruiser are more closely related, but even have separate chassis codes due to some differentiation that's greater than the previous 200-Series vehicles.
      I am annoyed because I keep seeing this false equivalence and knowing most people, they falsely believe anything they read and then stupidly dismiss the experts instead

      @nickh5049 Před rokem

      People get all wrapped up in branding. If you listen to the GM, he's saying the Sequoia and 300 series are so similar now it doesn't make sense to have them both in the portfolio for North America. You can still get the Lexus LX600 if you HAVE TO have a 300 series.

    • @nwezetx1
      @nwezetx1 Před rokem +1

      @@nickh5049Yes, the 310 series is only what Americans will get and below that, this 250 in Toyota showrooms. The BEV 400 Series will not be sold here either come 2030.
      The Lexus LX is actually *310 Series*, not simply 300. It's a derivative of J300, but no longer has the same chassis code.

    • @brianh5393
      @brianh5393 Před rokem

      @nickh5049 If it were only cosmetics, then I would agree. Why doesn't Toyota offer the same level of comprehensive service that Lexus does (i.e., loner vehicle)? Don't you think people would love to buy a premium Tacoma and have it serviced at the Lexus dealer? Different brands offer different experiences.
      I would love to see a more base model GX or a non-hybrid LC250. In the past Toyota stopped offering the V8 in the 4runner and kept it in the GX but the rear diff locker wasn't offered in the GX.
      For years enthusiasts were asking for a base model LC200 (cloth seats, no nav, no climate control, no power windows). Toyota offered all that in a Sequoia but wanted the Landcruiser to be at a different price point. At that time the Sequoia was on a different chassis than the LC200 so if you wanted something like a Landcruiser you had to buy the Landcruiser.
      Toyota has created a situation with the 2 brands where consumers can't get everything they want. Also why doesn't Toyota offer the US all the same options it does in other markets? It seems like Toyota USA is playing games. Call it marketing or logistical but in the case of the 4runner, perado, GX, LX, LC200, LC250 and LC300 they are all made exclusively in the same factory. Why won't Toyota give give us what we want?
      Maybe I should give up and go buy a Jeep or Bronco so I can get what I want without having to deal with Toyota's marketing games!

    Had $75k for a Bronco Raptor. Ford dealers turned me away 6 times. Made rude comments. They want $120k for MSRP $74k
    Now it’s going to a 1958 for $65k leaves me $10k for sliders, winch bumper and a few upgrades. Ford can take a hike.

      What do you mean? This new LC is more what it should’ve been. LC for the past how many years have been 100k SUV’s. It’s more accessible to everyone like what it was originally created for.
      The only people who owned LC’s especially ones that were from last couple years were soccer moms lol

    That drivetrain will be taxed beyond belief once all the influencer overlanders start adding all the stuff on it. Im just not convinced. Even my wifes outback has a v6.
