He was obviously depressed because his lover could not be with him. When you are depressed you may start having a suicidal behavior which I think is what happened to him, and somehow he wanted to die, he even says that in the last track of his solo album, "I just want to slide away and come alive again" we lost of the greatest singers of all time my friends, and its a damn shame RIP Micheal all your fans miss you dearly, cheers to everybody who liked INXS !

What a gorgeous man he was. Michael was a brilliant singer and entertainer. Such fantastic charisma on stage. Never be another like him. RIP Michael
Michael always looked like a rock star. His interviews however were gentle and honest. Just like he was talking to a friend. Sweet man..

He also sung about killing the pain & freedom take me deeper-i found a way to get outta here. Long b4 slide away.
This was 1988 he start getting depressive after his accident in Europe when he hit his head and lost the sense of smell I think it was 1993
Slide away, for this reason is beautiful but so sad and hard to listen to, makes me want to cry.
