Gladly helped my issue, had a new office chair at home that had an uneven cylinder and I was never happy with the legs of the base, never bothered returning either due to situational situations. My old chair on the other hand had an amazing base and terrible top. So now I'm using new top with old bottom and have those scooter wheels for extra smooth glide, no marks on floor and the sound is stealth. The unevenness of the old base got so annoying like a limb was hurting and aching.
Thank you for a short simple video, and btw I used a big old wrench with an old sock wrapped around it with some tape and it worked wonders to minimize any flaking off the paint.

This helped. I couldn't get the "hub" out of the base so I rested the base upside-down between two work stands / benches, put a log on top and hammered it with a claw hammer. I think the second blow did it

Saved me some time. I used a regular hammer because the swivel was broken and I didn't care about it ... But worked. Took about 8 solid hits though.
