ภัทร หนุ่มทะเล้น กากเกรียน และ ปราณ หนุ่มเนี้ยบ มาดคุณชาย ผู้ที่ถูกฟ้าลิขิตให้เป็นศัตรูกันตั้งแต่ยังไม่เห็นหน้า เพราะพ่อแม่เปิดร้านอุปกรณ์ก่อสร้างอยู่ข้างกัน แข่งกันตัดราคา แย่งลูกน้อง เกลียดกันชนิดไม่เผาผี ทำให้ทั้งคู่ถูกวางตัวเป็นคู่แข่งกันตั้งแต่เกิด ไม่ว่าใครคลานได้ก่อน เดินได้ก่อน เรียกพ่อแม่ได้ก่อน ทุกอย่างล้วนถูกเอามาเปรียบเทียบเกทับกัน
แต่วันหนึ่งตอนที่ทั้งคู่อายุ 12 ปี กำแพงความเกลียดชังของทั้งคู่ก็เริ่มมีรอยร้าว เมื่อ ภา น้องสาวของภัทรขี่จักรยานพลัดตกน้ำในคลองหมู่บ้าน ระหว่างที่ภัทรยังทำอะไรไม่ถูก เป็นปราณที่กระโจนลงน้ำไปช่วยภาขึ้นมา เหตุการณ์นั้นก็ทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ของคนทั้งคู่เปลี่ยนไป แม้ภายนอกจะดูเป็นคู่แข่งกันเหมือนเดิม แต่ลึกๆ ข้างในก็ไม่เกลียดชังกันเท่าเดิม
จน ม.3 อาจารย์ให้ทั้งคู่ฟอร์มวงดนตรีด้วยกัน ทำให้ทั้งคู่ต้องใกล้ชิดกันมากขึ้น
4 ปีต่อมา โชคชะตาก็เล่นตลกเมื่อส่งให้ ภัทร เข้าเรียนปี1 เป็นประธานรุ่นฝั่งวิศวะ ขณะที่ ปราณ เป็นประธานรุ่นคณะสถาปัตย์ โดยที่ทั้ง 2 คณะเป็นคู่แค้นกันมานาน ทำให้ภัทรและปราณต้องกลับมาตีกันอีกครั้ง เมื่อภารู้เรื่อง ก็วีนแตก ยื่นคำขาดห้ามภัทรทำร้ายปราณเด็ดขาด เพราะบุญคุณที่เคยช่วยไว้ ทำให้ภัทรไปขอทำข้อตกลงกับปราณว่าจะแอบแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูล เพื่อหาทางหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ให้ทั้ง 2 คณะทะเลาะกัน ปราณเองก็ไม่ชอบมีเรื่องเลยยอมตกลง
ทำให้ทั้งคู่เริ่ม “ความสัมพันธ์แบบลับๆ” ที่จะเป็นเพื่อนก็ไม่ใช่ ศัตรูก็ไม่เชิง แต่บันเทิงใจคนดู
สุดท้ายแล้วมิตรภาพบนความขัดแย้งของภัทรและปราณจะไปสิ้นสุดที่ตรงไหน ความลับจะแตกลงเมื่อไหร่ พ่อแม่จะยอมรับหรือไม่ หรือสุดท้ายจะมีวันที่ความขัดแย้งคลี่คลายหรือไม่

Pat and Pran really broke the typical BL stereotype of *not being gay and only liking that one particular guy* and the *husband and wife* stereotype. And that is why Bad Buddy is the best series ever!!

This show deserves all the props for making their leads have distinct sexuality’s(gay&bi/pan), while also making fun of the “I’m only gay for you” trope. And for shutting down the “hubby and wifey” nicknames. This shows that GMMTV (or at the very least the director) have actually been listening to the bl fandom, and that’s amazing!!

Well said. That whole absurd wifey/hubby, top/bottom, seme/uke thing is an Asian obsession started by Japanese YAOI manga/anime and swapped over to Asian BL first and then to the fancy YT/IG/TikTok/whatever social mainstream.
Nonsense made up by mainly straight female BL writers serving mainly a straight female audience with their straight female's perception of sex life transferred to two guys and spiced up with some dirty phantasies (such as violence, rape, and mandatory backdoor usage with subsequent ER visit). Without having a clue how reality is, building up annoying stereotypes and doing more harm than good.
No normal-thinking gay couple will label themselves that way except perhaps for pure fun and when joking around (or for making their addicted fandom happy when it comes to socials). At least not in the Western hemisphere. Neither is this brought up in genuine Western & South American LGBTQ+ movies and series.

Not gonna lie, this is the show that surprised me the most this year. I wasn't even sure I liked it when I started watching it, but with every episode it slowly won me over and now I cannot imagine Fridays without it and PatPran's beautifully natural chemistry. Aof has pioneered so much with Bad Buddy, from writing a canon GL side couple to finally subverting the unnecessary wife-husband stereotypes that have plagued BL stories. A million thanks to the whole team for writing such a lovely romance!!!
IKRRR When I saw the first episode I thought ah it would just be another college romance and nothing special but omg the way they address issues in depth and shatter so many stereotypes is amazing!! It's so respectful and they even have great women characters in the show who aren't playing the "evil ex gf" and actually contribute to the plot. Really really happy.

this episode has so much to unpack. they called out the whole “im straight, it’s only him i like” bs. talking about their sexuality. getting rid of that stupid “husband-wife” term and being able to call each other boyfriends is cute enough.. both patpran having a healthy relationship despite their toxic surroundings and being able to talk things out.

@dkfca That's not necessarily what the OP suggests, but it's definitely possible. In EP 6, Pran's mom let on that Pat's dad had a dirty secret, which is likely the source of their feud. Thinking about what he could have done, your idea came to mind. Intriguing.

I'm gonna go all 'labelly' and say Pat is the 'dad' of the group while 'Chang' is the mom. Chang always holds down the fort in Pat's absence.
The whole "wife" conversation is so great bc Pran's like "ok down to business, we need to discuss this" and now he feels comfortable enough to actually express his needs verbally and he does it so well! And Pat just looks confused like he doesn't understand why this is a big deal (just a nice moment of him as the audience stand-in so they can teach the viewers) and like jesus, someone talk to me about it like do you think he's been watching BL's himself and saw the toxic nonsense and went "idk I guess this is just what people say in relationships" and started doing it? Pran immediately calls him out on it asking if it makes him feel superior bc it IS a weird power dynamic and Pat still looks confused bc that's not at all why he's doing it, he just wants to use a cheesy petname. He remains to be the best boy and also an idiot in love and is like "oh this makes you uncomfortable ok we can change it and YOU use the petname" and Pran, bless his sweet soul, manages to not even roll his eyes. He just lays it on and shows him why its weird and Pat understands and apologises and Pran explains he's not mad but also why it isn't necessary and then they joke about it and it's all so sweet and easy for them.
Exactly. Because it was shown that Pran was really uncomfortable with the way Pat was throwing around the word carelessly without a thought. Boy just wanted to find the right pet name to call his lover and didn't expect Pran to get all serious about it. Cause all this while it's obvious that Pat was being very careful around Pran, making sure he was feeling all okay before making the next move. Such cuties. Hahaha. And also kudos to the whole BBTS team for talking about power dynamics and heteronormative stereotypes. If there are 2 biggest BL cliche tropes I hate the most is these couples role and the "I'm not gay, I just like him" trope. Gross.

I recommend ' I told sunset about you' both seasons, and I also recommend manner of death. They are amazing BL shows with no cringe moments. The first one is so beautiful, I loved the second season a lot. Acting and chemistry is superb!

Pat is the type of person who likes to show his affection so he listens well and it was so funny and cute when Pran showed him how “awkward” calling each other “hubby and wifey” can be (although himself didn’t mind it before) and since knowing that “boyfriend” is just as good enough to convey his affection, Pat immediately took it up and noticed how Pran liked it better
Apart from breaking all the stereotypes that comes with a BL series, what I love about Bad Buddy is how Pat and Pran haven't left each other's sides... Like if this were any other series, the protagonists would have had misunderstandings by the 8-9th episodes and we would have the whole montage of distant pining... Pran and Pat have best chemistry that makes me watch this series' episodes multiple times.. Pat is full of energy and fun, where as Pran is overwhelmed with cuteness, love and affection... Combination of both is like an atom bomb.. A complete package.. 😍😘💖💘
This series is making me feel a LOT of things that no other series ever has. I want to write an essay about all my thoughts on Bad Buddy because this show has surprised us all in so many good ways. The shade they threw at the “I’m not gay, I just date a guy” stereotype was absolutely AMAZING, and the simple fact that they use the word gay itself is so important. AND INK AND PA OMG. No joke, today’s episode had me screaming alone in my bedroom, waiting for the Christmas dinner.
This is exactly how I feel! This show makes me feel all the emotions! I am seriously considering being a screenwriter or director to be able to 1) make people feel intense emotions 2) be able to break stereotypes 3) do all the scenes I wished other shows had myself 4) watching something I created with friends etc would be such a dream come true!

Since Dark Blue Kiss, GMMTV is doing a great job in making realistic and enjoyable LGBTQ love stories rather than these awful and cringey Asian BL series filled with idiotic stereotypes of all sorts. DBK was already great, 2gether was awesome, but Bad Buddies tops them both. Ohm and Nanon are phenomenal actors, their natural acting and their chemistry... unbelievable! Both series and main actors have no rivals so far in the BL industry. Just awesome and a joy to watch.

Thing is calling each other wife and husband is common. Not just in fantasy bl world but even the gay ppl in Thai call themselves that. Het ppl too call their gf wife and gf their bf hubby. It's very common but alas overused in bl world.

But it also shouldn’t be overused in bl series’ either because it’s not a heterosexual relationship so there’s no need to use a female term everytime two men are in a relationship

I am still not happy with Wai. This whole thing could've been avoided had he not opened his mouth towards the other guy in the first place. If had just kept walking then this scene wouldn't have happened. Also He knew the guy was carrying a gun. Why didn't he tell his boss or Pat that the boy has a gun. He didn't even thank Pat for helping him avoid being bullied by the guy. He just kept quiet about the whole thing. He only felt guilty when he found out that Pat was shot and was being investigated. What made no sense to me was how the hell did these cops not get fingerprints of the other guy. This boy was wearing no gloves at the time and was clearly holding the pistol while fighting Pat trying to shoot him. Also how did they not see this video of the guy pointing a gun at Wai. If they said they already checked the CCTV's at that place?

Bad Buddy literally deserves an Oscar, I'm not kidding, the chemistry they have, the way Ohm and Nanon play Pat and Pran, it amazes me, it gives me goose bumps and I feel their suffering. Seriously Bad Buddy this 2021 saved it for me obviously there were other beautiful series, but none have touched me so much, so deep in my heart, when they are sad I cry with them, I feel that pain and it is woah, it means that they have understood their characters perfectly and it is admirable, Ohm has always surprised me and Nanon not to mention, they are both so talented, I hope in the future they also decide to make more series of them together, with tremendous chemistry who wouldn't like it😭💜.

I’m so grateful that even as things have gotten more dramatic we still get so many cute moments between Pat and Pran. I feel like usually in BLs by episode 8 they would’ve been separated and unable to see each other until towards the end of the final episode. I think obviously there will be some episodes where that’s the reality, but I just love we’ve had so long of them being adorable and couple-y!!!
I see P'Aof all over this episode. He said, "I'm going to reel them all in, make them fall in love then go for the juggler" and I am living for it.
I say this every week and I'm here to say it again: There is absolute no other BL that has consistently gotten it right like Bad Buddy. The plot. The pairing. The healthy conflicts. Screenwriters, please take notes. THIS is what we NEED to see.

What I like and appreciate the most about this series is that it’s not necessarily a BL story. It’s a drama about friendship and individuals of the same sex who so happen to fall in love, and because their parents (outside influences) are so toxic, they’ve tried to instill their mentality into their children. The individuals in love cannot be together not because their gay but because the parents hate each other, which has nothing to do with the children, and therefore the children cannot date one another. The show is impressive, as it breaks down the typical stereotypes, the level of emotions, and the general real-life application of the genre.

I keep getting mind-blown week after week. This series has done everything right so far. Ohm and Nanon are just on another level, but supporting characters are amazing too. I love how they talk about different sexualities and how they shut down the husband/wife thing (they also made fun of "I'm only gay for you", which was great). Looks like parent drama will be on the dreaded episode 11, I'm not looking forward to that, don't make my boys cry!! Anyways, this is hands down one of the best BL series in history, if not the best.

I've been looking for a BL like this for so long now because I only found Crossing the line good and a friend recommended me that one. I am def not disappointed. This drama is so realistic, talks about many problematic things in other BL and isn't here to have a bunch of teenager looking for yaoi content as a fanbase.
In this ep, we can see that Wai is not entirely that bad, at least he would appreciate and thankful for Pat's help and in return, he helps to find the clips to get Pat out of charge. Based on the flashbacks in the beginning, it is true that Wai asked Pran many times and Pran didn't tell the true. But like, Pran said...would Wai accept if Pran told him the true that he is dating a guy Wai hated? I think these are just communication issues. No one is right or wrong... Nothing is perfect...though I still dislike what Wai did at the theater.
Got to say, even though we see a lot of puppy cute face from Pat, don't forget that Pat is a fierce guy! I really like the scene where Pat stood up for Wai at the bar!
Finally, OhmNanon's chemistry is soooooooo darnnnn GOOOOODDDDDD!!!! Love them so much!!!!!💓😍

I can't express how much I like this series. Ohm and Nanon's interactions as Pat and Pran are one of the best. Each episode radiates how much they like working with eachother. And the relationship Pat/Pran is such an comfertable one, it's like they've been together as a couple for their whole lives.
All this time, I thought there's nothing wrong with the whole "im straight but i only like this one guy" and the "husband-wife" thing. But I know better now. This show is amazing

However, it is a bit problematic to impose heteronormativitiy in a homosexual couple so yeah. This episode debunks just that and I couldn't be happier that it's delivered in such a way that it's not stamping on the stereotype, per sé, rather opening another path to walk upon. In the end, it's their own life choices lol

The genuine emotions I feel during this series is something I've only ever had with A Tale Of A Thousand Stars. I'm always on the edge of my seat, holding my breath, grinning and laughing, rewinding constantly. This cast is so perfect, they're all incredible and have such good chemistry. The plot is really interesting and doesn't feel repetitive. We're getting affection and normalcy throughout the drama instead of only the last two episodes. It's just a really incredible series and it will be one I watch over and over again.
And both dramas had Drake as the best sidekick! He's a gem! Hahaha
This is one of the best bl series ever. Story, acting , actors and their chemistry, directing and music are just top notch.
I just hope this is like Cdrama which has like 50 episodes because 12 episodes is not enough.
On top of breaking stupid tropes like the hubby/wife and 'only gay for you' this also broke tropes about them staying apart/not communicating. Throughout Pat is supportive of Pran and doesn't try to necessarily brush off Pran's feelings about a arguing with Wai but just stop him enough from spiraling. And as bad as Wai was for outing them, he's on a redemption path with at least 4 episodes left which is better than most others in similar positions in other BLs

But you know what, I kinda anticipated that Pran will somehow meet with Pat's parents in the hospital, since they slowly have already given us a little taste of the cursed episode since the last two episodes. So, my mind during the whole hospital scene be like; "Please don't, please don't", and it happened at the end :(. Getting so much butterflies from PatPran interaction and at the same time getting frustrated, anticipating what will coming is..... A special feeling I can get from watching BL series :)
I'm enjoying this series soooo much. The story, the characters, the team, and the actors. All of them are AMAZING. And Pat and Pran... have the relationship i've always dreamed of. I can imagine why they love each other that much. They deserve it. And of course... Ohm and Nanon did an incredible job with this series. I believe their love, their trust and their confortable with each other. All the time. The chimestry is superb.

I was in a big dilemma choosing between the happiness of Christmas Carol and the intense conflicts in Bad Buddy, but thank God this episode has a great balance between conflicts and sweet moments, so I can enjoy it so much. Even though the episode ends with another upcoming conflict, what happened in EP9 is resolved so we're good, no pressure. This is so good. I can enjoy both Christmas and Bad Buddy. Thank you.
