Police officers fake all kinds of things to be heroes and keep the judicial branch full of incoming fines and fees. It is a huge national institution that loves to penalize $$$ citizens. Police fake evidence, police fake eyewitness testimony, police fake bodycams by forgetting to turn them on.
The kind of stuff a crooked officer would attempt with a regular person.

The cops definelty screwed this up. Same thing happened to me at an accident. Once one cop waved me through, and then another cop threw his hands up, screaming at me. I ended up with a ticket because of these jerk offs.
Scheffler's lawyer will get this dropped, but imagine if he was just a regular guy, a fan heading into the event. We'd never hear about it and the felony charge would stick. This guy would be going to prison on trumped up charges.

What difference does it make WHO it is? The driver of a vehicle should always be on alert, and recognise if a person is standing next to, or has his hand on, the vehicle, and to make sure to not move the vehicle is so. Scottie did neither of those things, didn't pay attention to what was going on in the surroundings and proceeded to move the car while the officer was practically attached to it, as the officer was making sure that the car would not proceed, as he was there to aid in traffic control.

He was in a marked car and police were letting other golfers go by but when Scheffler pulled up for stupid cop or cops were trying to just make a scene when Scheffler actually had the right away. One of the tournament vendors had been struck and killed by a bus. “A police officer instructed Scheffler to stop, but Scheffler continued to drive about 10 to 20 yards toward the entrance,” ESPN said. Obviously Scottie and his golf game were more important than some mere police investigation.
If the detective was not in uniform, then Scheffler might have thought he was just traffic control for the tournament. Need to hear the whole story and not race to judgement.
Scottie and all the golfers were told to go through. It was dark, rainy Scottie was driving a marked PGA courtesy vehicle and all cops knew those cars go through. Cop didn't have a cop uniform on. Cop slammed his body into window in the dark and rainy w no cop uniform on. Scottie was treated poorly.

Cop was not wearing a police uniform. Scottie was told to go through the traffic by the police as ALL THE GOLFERS WERE TOLD TO GO THROUGH TRAFFIC TO THE COURSE. IT WAS DARK, RAINY AND CONFUSING AND COO WENT NUTS. SCOTTIE WAS TREATED POORLY
