I thought there was already a company called "woof". By Ryan Howard
I think it was named “wuphf”, maybe he could sue
This could work for people too. Like a security service if your not home by a certain time you get a call. This could be a really big company and pets should be a small percentage of it.
sure . another garbage that has no purpose because god forbid you dont get home on time the poor dogs are dying. Wonder how people survived this long without this nonsense. How do the selection process work on shark tank when they will allow this and others I have seen on the show
@@bjvu9460because back then people were living in families. Progressively we are isolating a lot from others. Which era are you commenting from?
Don't give'em any ideas!
@@bjvu9460 Hold up! Update: He already got 50k seed money from another VC and increased his paying subs to 500. You may not see merit but it is far from a trash idea. It is clear he is doing the legwork.
It makes some sense with pets but with people you just can call the person yourself, so why pay someone else to do it?
I don't own a pet and I think this is amazing. Hope he takes the sharks useful advice and blows this up!
Can be small business but don't think it'll blow up.
I see this is a fantastic service. There are more and more people living alone with pets that don't live around family because of the cost of living in some cities. I moved from California to Texas and I don't have any friends or family anywhere near by me. This is a fantastic service that I will absolutely subscribe to. Having that piece of mind for so little per month is a fantastic value.
I also think he didn't sell it properly, you can have friends or family right down the street but if you are incapacitated, they dont know you need assistance with the pet and if they do, not EVERY friend or family member has access to the property.
Exactly this. If you're out all day, then you're in a car accident and unconscious, your pets may be alone for 24-48 hours before anyone even thinks of them. And even then, my friends and family don't have keys to my home.
@@TheDogGoesWoof69 Absolutely. I consider myself a California refugee lol
@dontsuck you should have started with that 😂 Welcome 🎉
To expensive for such a service.
I dont think the sharks realize how many single pet owners there are.
They are all so out of touch with millennials and gen z living situations
Ya, but those people are poor
There are many more useful features to the app than the least used one, which he presented. Basically for $30 per year you can get all the info on your pet(s) uploaded to one place: name, age, breed description, weight, food, medications and health, vet contact, toys, preferences and habits, etc. This can be accessed by your pet sitters. Also this app can be used by people who have *NO PETS.* Which means it's an essential wellness check for *you* at $30/yr, which is likely cheaper than any medic alert what-nots out there. So it's applicable to anybody living alone! He promoted the wrong feature and buyers to the Sharks.
Ahhhh he should have talked about wellness check for humans because this is a much larger market and this is actually important for developed countries around the world that are aging fast. Missed opportunity.
@@wanghui562 Yes, yes! I and many others are the ideal customer, with or without pets.
Do you subscribe to it
Oh I was just shot at, thrown down metal stairs, my dog shot and killed - cops didn't come for that..... But they'll show up for a lost dog?
@@thegulch1780 Wot? For real?? God help you. But yes, in normal places, LEOs will do a wellness check and if needed, bring in Animal Control. I'm sorry abt your dog.
Sounds like a nice idea for a pet insurance company to add to their services, given some tweaks and improvements and in the functionality (setting a timer whenever you leave the house is too much and will trigger too many warnings)
I would like to see more boarding facilities for pets when owners have an emergency.
It's difficult to do on an emergency basis because they pump up dogs with so many chemicals to meet regulations
Vermont is a state that produces Twinkies - those dogs are so pumped up with chemicals they don't need taxidermy when they pass away, prematurely because of chemicals.
i like how they blew past the part where someone breaks into ur house 😂
@@thegulch1780wait, what are you on about?
I think Robert overlooked the fact that in an emergency, ur family or friends may not be available at that specific time. Additionally, do ur friends and family always know where u are?
I feel like a majority of roberts questions are very out of touch with the average person, like not knowing the price of peanut butter and again being out of the loop with pets
And now he does not even need employees, he can do this with AI.
There are more and more single people. Less people want to get into relationships and move away from family. This is a great service that I think would catch on nationwide. I just dont think he figured out how to scale it for when it does take off and that is what turned the sharks off.
It's just totally and complete. He needs to have a network of pet support locations or people. There needs to be something beyond just calling the police
incomplete?*
he could contract gig workers to make the house calls
This was honestly a great idea
It's absolutely a major concern in my life. Good idea. Also mark is such a nice guy. Always encouraging people.
:Mr wonderful. Have you sold this to anybody???? :ceo. Of course! 😂
I'd consider partnering with Veterinarians or Pet Insurance providers.
They're overlooking the AI component that could initiate the friend & family call to start... then if it escalates, you get a human for the next step calling the police.
This guy is Woooofff indeed
I think it's great service , Robert talking that everyone has friends and family around, I mean c'moon , of course not, a lot of people live alone with their pets and they would love to have that kind of service!
The moment he confirmed that he doesn't own the name WOOF, he was done. It shows a lack thoroughness and also arrogance. He must think the sharks are stupid.
Also, that's a terrible name and logo. If you take it by itself, people are going to think it's a service only for dogs.
You're right. It's extremely difficult to call it something different. His service is RUINED without the name Woof. I mean it could take several minutes of his time to come up with a new name. Maybe even a few days if he needed breaks. That right there would take too long. He'd be out of business.
Should have used "paw hotline"
Overly technical solution to a non-existent problem.
they end up calling cops to go check on a dog!
Ryan from the Office brought me here 😂
Excellent Concept. I love it.
Daymond tore that pitcher a new one!! 😅🤣😂🦮
People who can afford to pamper their animals almost certainly have friends or family that can do this for them for free.
I don’t see the need, like Robert said: a friend could easily do this for you. Or even a neighbor you trust.
Dayman is right about the challenge on the name. That's the FIRST thing I thought of when I saw the title. HOW DID THIS GUY GET THE NAME WOOF??
Cops do a "wellness check" the dog attacks and get shot dead cause you were late a day returning from a trip.
Another dreamer in the shark tank
Googles "WOOF" lol
Need this is in Canada! Come to Toronto first!
In your dreams this is worth $1M. You have $3000 revenue/yr, 6x that is $18k. The company is worth at most $18k
From what I could find it`s still in business and worth about 1 mil..
Sontimes i love my dogs more then even my kids 😂
Rule of thumb - if the video is less than 9 minuets the entrepreneur did not get a deal.
5:09 Daymond’s eyes are deader than mark’s here😭😭
He sold himself out of a deal with Kevin. He should have just listened and stopped trying t to address Robert (who was already out)
My man is using police time to run his business, free police employees lol.
5:10 I think Robert is missing the point. Lets say you get knocked unconscious in a car accident on your drive home from work. You've already been away from home for 8-10 hours, you wake up in a hospital bed hours or even days later. What happens to your pet? The stress that causes them could be irreparable. Robert is under the assumption that during the emergencies when this service is truly needed, you'd just call your friend or family member and say go take care of my pet....that's not why this service was created. This app will contact those people for you. Set it and forget it. And at 30 bucks a year, I'll subscribe today. I fly paramotors and have ALWAYS been concerned about my dog's well being if I were to plummet to my death. This service was created for people like me. I think EVERY pet owner would spend 30 bucks a year for another level of safety for their family member.
Robert doesn't seem like a real pet guy. I agree with you on the car accident scenario but I think the biggest issue is when people die. Even if they die inside their house...this app will alert officials and save the pets. Otherwise it could be days or weeks.
@@odysseusnissanthis app doesn't seem to solve that problem though. It's only when the person leaves the house and it keeps track of the amount of time for them to get back to the house. There doesn't seem to be a function for if they're in the house and they die.
But if you fall dead or unconcious wouldnt your family be contacted by the hospital? It usually is.. and all the police are gonna be doing is breaking and entering anyways so why cant the family tell the police to do that once they know?
@@airlight7173 If you live alone and die at your house…your dog may be forced to eat your dead body.
mark saying i don't see it growing - me at the same time googling how to subscribe)
Pet owners.
Not pet parents.
I recognise tjis from the office
So Ryan's WUPHF but for dogs
Proper scam lol. He just sits at home and makes calls 😅
He wanted $1M evaluation based off $900???
perhaps if he had requested for fewer dollars or upped the shares, he could have enticed the sharks
Kelly kapur is going to sue him for taking woof
More like Ryan
@@omnientertainment5852 she will sue Ryan too
With this service i remember hachiko.
Wasn’t this Ryan’s business? Lmao
Stupid idea. Also when he said he almost got in a car wreck and his dogs lives flashed before his eyes and not his own.... lmao 🤣
Bud saw the office
Just the look on Daymonds face i already heard his voice IM OUT
Sharks will literally take his idea and create a business for themselves.
I hate it when lori be like "I'M IN" like she's gonna make an offer when 9/10 she doesn't. She irks my NERVES
I would like this. My dogs are my kids lol
I thought dat dude in da thumbnail is SIMON COWEL america got tlaent guy. but NOT him? say WHATTTTTT?
This guy: Hello is this John Smith? You didn't report in for your woof timer are you okay? Car accident you say? Stranded in a dark ditch? Okay sir don't worry I will make sure your pet bird is safe and secure until you get that figured out.
Surprised the sharks didn’t ask “do police do wellness checks for animals?”
If the owner is in the hospital, the police know where the owner is. Which is, not at home.
I like this to say the least
Seems pointless. Why not have your friends and neighbors, take care of it.
Background music is annoying!
Why not it be an add on to pet insurance
This is a very good idea. I think the Sharks are underestimating the size of the market
this is garbage. most people with dogs are not people with discretionary income
@@bjvu9460 If that was even remotely true, dog-sitting and doggy day care wouldn't be profitable businesses. Yet free-lance dog sitters can earn 6 figures in my city. The app is 2.99 a month. How much 'discrectionary income' do you need to afford that?
People can love too
So the police are going to bust into your apartment because you have been away from your gerbil all day?
This is a worse idea than a "jump to conclusions" mat.
this is good but i feel like he didn't think it through enough
Odin is HUGE!
Yep, woof is already taking
It’s one more situation that people need to be prepared for just like having “end of life plans”. I have two sets of friends who have keys to my house. I have the list of care instructions posted in my cat’s feeding area. If something happens, these people are my emergency contacts and have been instructed on what needs to be done to care for my cat. I also have added a page to my will that covers the financial care and the three preferred people who may take possession of my cat if I am no longer able to care for him.
Daymond is out because of the name?! The guy is a joke 💀💀💀
So is the inception
I like the idea of. I own 2 dogs and I’m always scared of what will happen if something happens to me and my dogs are alone. I don’t have anyone to check on them 😢
I have no need for this application
I feel like if you need an app like this then you shouldn’t have a dog
See you got a winner if you were the people that took care of the dogs see that you get that confirmed that goes a certain person that comes that knows the dogs like a house sitting dog you know the dogs you get to meet the dogs cuz you're trustworthy and if there's an emergency that person is called to take care of the dogs but what if something happens to that person it's a great business model just needs some tweaking
But if your employees are caring for the animals, you take on a huge amount of liability. You're better off having your employees only be the point people between the app/customer and the professionals who handle such matters.
Yeah hmmm, not a product that I would be interested in and I think the Sharks are right, there isn't that much demand for this product.
his idea just needed tweaking
The shark makes the boat, or they ate the boat. There are pet insurance, companies, and a pet insurance company. Would love this idea. I don’t know how it would be configured, but that would be worked out in the details. I would see a pet insurance company which, by the way is now becoming a common employee benefit, they would love this.
This makes sense but needs a stronger infrastructure. I have birds and would like this integrated with smart locks where someone would be given a code to get your pets or feed them.
He was too early for them. Should license the app to like Petco or big stores like that.
I dont think will work on big scale. Maybe in 1 city or so but its bot a big country thing.
I was going to say that he should change the name to WOOFLINE . . . BUT it's already taken.
I thought WOUF got bought out.
I would call it "Pet911"
K9-11
1st world problems solver
Pet safety is a 1st world problem?
@@jcout25 it is. People from countries that have real problems won't care enough to basically pay for their pets insurance xD
there’s some great insight in the comments - he could partner with local veterinarians, use AI, and even make this for humans.
What happens if the owner passes out or dies inside the house?
Robert didnt get it.
Too many flaws in the process to make it desirable.
"i didn't get the deal today" like he has other shark tank shows to attend to
WUPHF!!!
I was expecting to see a lot more quotes from the office in the comment section. What a disappointment 😞
WHY WOULD THEY NOT DO THIS SAME THING FOR KIDS???? like his would be a absolute smash if it made sure kids were okay
Sad he doesn’t offer service take ccs of my pet while I’m not around and for those reasons I’m out
Is he saying $2.99 or $299?
Robert is wrong he is just lucky
That is a GREAT IDEA so keep going you will make it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right.
artificial intelligence takes the place of getting to know your neighbors.
It’s good idea but I think it doesn’t require a shark. These people have big businesses with many staff busy with multimillion companies and to grow his very small business will require a lot of work and for those reasons I’m also out.
Both names, his and the Company wont work.
Who has an extra $229 per month to spend on this?!
