- Kenyan President William Ruto deployed the military to end “treasonous” nationwide anti-government protests that left a least five people dead. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is deeply concerned over the reported violence, according to an emailed statement. Bloomberg's Ondiro Oganga reports.

Ideally, that's what the government would need the funds for. But in reality, they magnitude of corruption ensures that a large portion of the tax collected ends up not being used for the intended purpose or stolen thus continuing to get us deeper and deeper into debt. And they are not having a conversation on cutting thekr own hugely unnecessary spendings that could see a huge amount of fund diverted to critical sectors. That's how we got here, and that's why we are angry.

@@chrisvibz4753 it's the comparison of past and current taxes that's ridiculous, income tax being the biggest, nearly half of your paycheck is taken as taxes, then taxes on everything you buy and where you live, example where I live I pay fed, state, county, city, and township taxes just to exist in the area not including property tax, homeowner/renters tax, the utility taxes.... it goes on and on, there really isn't anything that isn't taxed at this point...
