Springbank is definitely one of the best single malts around. It's a Scottish treasure.

Thank you for this. Very interesting. Especially for those of us on the other side of the globe who may never see it in person.
A lot of traditional methods there, and a lot of old equipment. Much of it looks like 1920s to 1950s vintage stuff. So often I wish I could have asked, "What's that thing in the background, or the periphery of the shot?... Not to mention, "How did you get access to so many scenes when there was no one around?!"
Great video on production methods of one of the world's truly great whiskies!

Very old school way. Earth floors. Real fire heat. No coloring. Nice

I love seeing the independent guys like Springbank get some much deserved attention. Great video, Ben.

Thanks for the tour Benedikt, it really settled an image in my mind about the Springbank Distillery. I attended the inaugural Vancouver Whisky Festival yesterday evening and I participated in the master class which talked about all three types. Ranald Watson the Sales and Marketing Manager of Springbank was a fantastic teacher who brought an amazing amount of character and history to the seminar being from Campbeltown himself. The Hazelburn whisky was my favourite of the hour but I can see myself moving towards the peatier options in the foreseeable future!

Wow. You learn something every day. I alway thought there were three different distilleries! Now everything falls into place. Again, another great explanation Ben, especially as english is not you first language. I wish my German was as good as your english. I might understand my wife when she's schimfing at me :-)

Awesome video man.. But the explanation of springbank distillation is pretty weird.. Its called the two and a half distillation. The first half goes for second distillation and mixed with other half for the third.. Great video BTW ✌️

Does alcohol give a certain taste to drinks? Cz I was just wondering why do they need to add alcohol to drinks? Why not just keep all the berries and stuff in it and just don't add alcohol?

XxEpicGamingxX you want berries and fruits in your drink but no alcohol, do you not see that you are describing juice?

Yes but just don't add alcohol. Would save lots of money and lots of police's time.

XxEpicGamingxX You don't get the burn or finish that alcohol adds nor the complexity or character.
