They hooked up 2 years ago when she 15. But the word "allegedly" will be thrown around to protect Giddey until the girl turns 18 and still maybe even after that. As of today 3 Dec 2023, that girl is 17 years old. The law states that the of consent in the state of California is 18.
But i guess 15+2 is allegedly 17, remember that in math class kids.
California age of consent laws are a joke. By the statute if he had been 18 and she was 17 it would be the same offense. Nobody needs to be charged with a crime here. The vast majority of states allow one form of driver's permit or license by 15 including California. Make that make sense she was old enough to drive a car on public roads but not to consent to sex with someone 4 years older?
