ive always sucked with every instrument, i cant sing, nor can i dance. ive always known ive had a musical passion. the second i saw one of these, i fell in love. i bought it as soon as i saw it. within the first hour, i felt i mastered it. its truely a beautiful and elegant instrument! this is MY instrument!

The kalimba's sound reminds me of music boxes I had when I was a little kid, the sound had this poetic tinge I can't explain, I think it's also used for mood setting when the griots go from village to village, during story time or when they recite proverbs.
I really want a kalimba.. i've been watching so many kalimba music videos for the past few years. They are so calming and soothing.

I just bought one about a month ago. Absolutely loving it. I got 17 tines, but honestly I think I'd enjoy 15 tines too. Smaller box, easier to hold?

You can play right after unboxing it, so lucky! I had to take time for tuning all my Kalimbas before I want to play any song

If you've never played an instrument before, it will be. But it's probably the easiest instrument I've learned. You can play really simply things that sound nice, and the way the instrument is designed, it's pretty hard to play things that sound awful.
You can open and close the sound holes on the back with your fingers for a "wah-wah" effect.

If someone is thinking about getting one, please go for a 17 key kalimba in C. You'll quickly learn how to play and 10 keys isn't enough for many songs.

It's okay on the violin/viola/cello the place the noise comes out is called the f hole
