There's also the fact that Byleth is the only "avatar" to have a canonical birthday, which is 9/20, the day Sitri died of childbirth as stated in Jeralt's diary.
Us deciding Byleth's birthday at the start can easily be seen as Jeralt lying to them about their birth, especially since they thought it was the case during the convo with him as chapter 8 ended.
I dunno, I don't think that's a good way to explain it, because the discrepancy is pretty big if it's Jeralt lying to them- what if Byleth finds out and decides to start digging deeper? I think it might've been Sothis's memories bleeding into Byleth's, instead.

Coming in late with a few more fun facts about Three Houses birthdays:
- The character ages visible on their profiles dynamically update to take birthdays into account, which is a nice bit of attention to detail.
- If Byleth's birthday is set to sometime in March/Lone Moon (so that it falls during Chapter 12 pre-timeskip), *and* you're an Eagle that chooses to side against Edelgard the chapter before (i.e., on the path to Silver Snow), your birthday gift is a White Dragon Scarf from Rhea, since your house leader isn't exactly around to give you something anymore :V This is one of only two ways to get the scarf in the whole game (the other being if you clear the Chapter 6 mission as early as possible).
- Among the wealth of unused text strings in 3H's data are several things related to birthdays: Aelfric has an assigned birthday of 4/30 that can't be seen in-game bc he isn't playable, there are strings for a character receiving increased motivation and/or support points with another character on their birthday (separate from the used flowers/tea party mechanics), and most notably, there was apparently an entire cut online feature for celebrating other players' birthdays! From the looks of it, a given player's birthday party would function as a "room" of sorts that you could join to give them a "poke" or leave a typed comment, with the host's side tracking stats for how many guests and pokes you received.
Sadly I'm in the no-FE-birthdays crowd myself; mine is sandwiched right between Kagero's (haven't played much Fates so I don't have a strong opinion on her) and Yunaka's (
Something else about the birthdays in Awakening is that all of the child characters (except Morgan) have birthdays that align with the release dates of past fire emblem entries:

If you're wondering where Path of Radiance is, that was also released on April 20 like the first game, so Lucina's Bday is also referencing that.
Edit: ALSO! Fates kinda continued this, as Kana's birthday (April 19th) was the date Awakening first released.

Happy Birthday! I am one of the few (un)lucky people to share a birthday with NO fire emblem character! (February 6th, which is sandwiched by Rinkah and Subaki 😭) Maybe the next game will finally provide a character for my day
Gonna add this to my watch later, so not gonna watch yet, but seeing this Video topic pop up on my own birthday, and hearing talks about birthdays on the radio makes for a fun little coincidence.

There is actually an explanation for Rhajat Caeldori and Asugi!
The simple one is in Rhajat's death quote. She references awakening by asking if she'll see Corrin in a sandstorm.
The harder to find one is in Rhajat's japanese support with f!corrrin (which i recommend reading if you ever decide to do a srpg sapphics on rhajat). In the a support rhajat looks into corrin's future and says theyll meet again in a future life, heavily implied to be Tharja and Robin.
So tl;dr when Rhajat Caeldori Asugi and Corrin die, theyll one day be reborn as Tharja Cordelia Gaius and Robin. The fates incarnations are the awakening counterparts in a past life.

Some Three Houses headcanons I have involving birthdays:
1. The birthday that Byleth has in game is not their real birthday. Jeralt’s diary suggests Byleth was born in September. Therefore, I believe that the day Byleth celebrates as their birthday is the day Jeralt told them it was, in order to make it appear that Byleth was born after Jeralt left the knights
2. As Byleth’s “birthday” is not their real birthday, I believe Sothis believes that it is her birthday as well simply because her and Byleth’s memories are entwined. Byleth remembers things such as the Red Canyon through Sothis’ memories, so it could be that Sothis remembers Byleth’s “birthday” and believes it to be her own

One thing about Three Houses, if you get a Perfect Tea Time with a character, Byleth and the unit in question can actually gain +1 charm. You can only get 2 charm per month, but by the end of a run, Byleth can have upwards of 60 charm, making you extremely gambit resistant and being like the one character who can land a gambit on an enemy Edelgard post-timeskip
Also, because of how the calendar is arranged, Seteth is the only character who's birthday you cannot celebrate, as his birthday is the day after the Chapter 9 mission and you're probably too bummed at Jeralt's death to celebrate. Given that his birthday is in the Ethereal Moon (December), that whole month is just Hunting by Daybreak on 3/4 routes, the only route that gets a proper December in the timeskip is Crimson Flower, the one route where he's unplayable

I share a birthday with Kjelle, from awakening wich is a character that personality wise, i don't really hate her nor specially like, i think she's cool, but that's it. But gameplay wise i adore her, because on my second playthrough of awakening, i married her mother, Sully, to Frederick, so when i recruited her, she was a BEAST of an unit.

Happy Birthday! Thanks for all the great Fire Emblem content. As for shared Birthday, mine is Feb 24, which means I share a Birthday with Nel from Engage's DLC.....which isn't thrilling to me as I didn't even enjoy base Engage's story, and didn't even do the DLC story
The engage dlc is the only fe content i dropped and will never go back to, so I feel you there 😔

On an interesting note since I’m replaying Three Houses, if you make Byleth’s b-day February 29, the calendar will change to a leap year. If their birthday is on any other day, the Fodeln calendar will have the 28 day month
@harryfailsgaming1246 That's not quite true, the Chapter 11 Mission happens on 29th of the Pegasus Moon (February) meaning the year is guaranteed to be a leap year. I don't know if this applies for the 1185 Pegasus Moon, but the 1180 one is definitely already a leap year

You got three houses slightly wrong, its not a completly imaginary calendar, they just changed the month name, you can find out about this in a book in abyss.
The birthdays are just days where you can buy them a gift or have a free action tea time with them (you still need tea leaves of your own), with the saints getting a bonus
My closest-to-shared FE birthday is Takumi (1 day before mine!) a fact that I am incredibly ambivalent about 😹
