To clarify, you cannot trade VIX directly as an ETF, but rather as futures and options for those futures. Unfortunately the man in the video said you can trade the vix as an ETF which is not true. The futures have different prices than the VIX, so find the appropriate futures chart, and trade carefully! Good luck to all!

@@kareem7051 Yes, VIXY is an EFT, but it's a Short Term FUTURES EFT which correlates with VIX but has its own chart, which if you compare the chart with VIX, zooming out to a year or longer and you'll see how greatly they differ the longer term you view/hold it. Good luck!

So which INSTRUMENT do you use to trade the VIX? futures or options contracts? How do you choose your contracts? There are no ways to directly "trade" the vix.

Does this trade like a normal stock or should we close out at end of day ?
the vix is option only which you can hold overnight. VXX has both stock and options which you can hold overnight.
There was way too much extra talking in this video. This could have been cut in half and kept all relevant information. Talking fast doesn't help when you are using 5x too many words to say something.

Next time ,think through a presentation and don’t go on line blabbering. I am a volatility trader and I just saw why I am so profitable. A few decent points , but no real strategy. Let me give yall a hint , Look at a chart of one year Vix and compare it to any stock. At a given point in time is it easier to predict the future trend of Vix orthe stock you chose?
Once the horse is way out of the barn --- just forget this market. Just step aside. Either you made it on the first shot, or else get ready to lose your f'n shirt.
