The hunt for my first spider/convertible continues here with the new Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante! A 600bhp 6.0 litre V12 Vanquish Volante with an all new 8-speed Transmission, Quad-exhaust tailpipes, and revised inlet manifolds for increased engine airflow makes for a dramatic super GT experience!

Some of the cars that Paul puts exhausts on sound great already. Modifying them is akin to an already beautiful woman with a nice figure getting a boob job. I think it's moronic
+John V I agree to a certain point. I feel like it's totally fine to put an exhaust on to change the note to maybe a little bit deeper or throatier etc. But changing the exhaust just to make it louder is misunderstood.

I actually bought a vanquish s volante because of this video and I must say its one of the best, if not the best, purchase I've ever made! the sound is unbelievable!! I think you should buy this as your convertible !! even though you can't really share it with your friends..
I've heard a bunch of these now, and still... I just never cease to be thrilled by that noise. Just... jeez. And can I say, you've done a wonderful job recording that noise at its best. Glorious.
It amazes me how you consistently make such awesome content. You tell us viewers the intricate details unlike other CZcamsrs.

That thing is a different kind of beautiful. I don't get overly excited by many cars these days but that Aston is quite special.
YES! I was so looking forward to this video. The sound of the engine is magnificent (it gives me goosebumps!) and it looks outrageously beautiful. Please, please, please BUY IT! And, of course, video quality on point, as always. 👍👍👍
P.S.: thanks for taking my suggestion and making this video. Even if you don't buy the Vanquish S, at least you had fun with it.

This might be the best car review I have ever seen. You seem to understand what the car is made for, you don't talk down on its moderate way around a track, yet you don't seem biased. You often capture beautiful cinematography, but in this review I truly believe that the dialog is one of the best I've seen thus far. Nice work and keep it up!

Probably the last Aston will a great looking front end too, the DB11's doesn't look as good as this, the vantage, the DBS or the Rapide

Interesting timing with you posting this video now as I recently drove my dad's Aston Martin DB7. That obviously doesn't have the power of the modern Astons but in a similar fashion I loved it.
I am partial to some fun on track days and going mental on some cool B-roads but can't deny the engine sound, the quality and beauty of the car and the comfort and chilled style of driving is really, really enjoyable and I imagine being able to take the roof off emphasizes that even more.
7:14 - This is why the Vanquish S is so cool. Looks incredible, making a LOT of amazing noise, yet not having to go fast to do it. Fun

It will lure you to drive more Kms in it than you planned! The AM Vanquish V12 sounds better (more meatier, deeper rumble) than your F12! Enjoy! Aston Martin is my favorite car manufacturer for a good reason, just perfection.

I know this is going to be an odd recommendation, but I think you should look into the new SL 63. Such an underrated car, deserves a lot more attention than it gets. Perfect balance between sportscar and gt cruiser. I didn't like the old one but the 2017 model is utterly amazing.
James, I don't know exactly what it is, but like I've said so many times before, your videos are the best of the best as far as car content. your video and editing work are the best and you convey what it's really like to drive these cars better than anyone else. I wish you could collaborate with Salomondrin more as he is #1B, right behind you at #1A. I'm just really sad you got rid of your F12 as that's pretty much my favorite car. It's one of very few I can fit in being pretty tall. Keep up the great work James!!

Their is a reason its not 'slushy' its a manual ZF box with actuators and solenoids doing the manual clutch and shifting for you.
Thats why you can cook clutch in traffic.
A traditional slush box is a completely different thing, it uses transfer of fluid hence the delay.

I was watching another video when I saw notification saying Mr.JWW posted a new video , * say no more * I know what I want in life 😂
Tough one this. The Vanquish S Volante is perfect for enjoying the mountain roads in Southern Europe but taking more then one person with you is not realistic. Maybe the Continental GTC would be a good choice; certainly more room and the V8 one sounds epic. A Mercedes S63 Convertible is also a better 4-seater and both V8 and V12 AMG engines are wonderful.
Years ago I read an article by a someone [I can't remember who now] who has been successful in life on his top 10 tips on how to live life to the fullest, and one tip on the list was "Own a convertible at least once in your life".

Great video and great car James! It is definitely the one convertible I would buy right now. The sound, the aesthetics, everything just perfect! The only thing that is bothering me is the look of the steering wheel and the kind of outdated interior :( But I guess you’d have way more fun in this than in the Dawn ;)

BTW The 8 speed ZF is super quick , it is a supercar ,maybe not a squick in straight line as some, but you will never need more acceleration or speed

if you're looking for a convertible. Think of getting the Huracan 580-2. it has everything you want. sound. colour. crackles. aesthetic!

a 4 passenger car with a great engine and a special unique quality can be hard to find. A full size convertible might fit the bill better then a GT
it is definitely a grand tourer J. Imagine its sound as you passing alot of tunnels on the way to monaco through italy. Do you choose this or that 'corvette' like Superfast for the ultimate GT? i know you are a ferrari fans but this Aston suits you perfectly 👌👌

Oh it's envy....JWW always has high production values, intelligent content, and in this case the last of a dying breed, a truly beautiful theatre of noise....I test drove one as well as a Vantage when looking to replace my 911 convertible, if I could find another £50k in my back pocket, I would happily buy and keep, people are going to look back at this car in twenty years and pay a fortune
