Please bring back two handed takedowns and hip throws.
Yes, please! The new rules have made this type of Kumite less effective in real life. The two handed throws and hip throws were very effective and realistic. Now it’s a bit neutered.
Then show a vedio
It looked better when people could grab with two hands.
Just make this martial art the way it was supposed to be, put them in ring and allow full contact with knees and elbows, also takedowns, throws, grappling, locks, groundfighting because karate is a mix of striking and wrestling, and nobody will bitch about it anymore
@@rainbow2.086 you're 100% right, but they already have those choices if you want to watch that type of fight, google "karate combat" and then theres also MMA.
If Traditional Karatekas like me put actual power in our strikes, it's like a sniper, fast, hard hitting, accurate shots like damn this rules make us look weak but if trained in actual Karate rather than sport Karate, no one would underestimate Traditional Karatekas that's why I want to thank Karate Combat for making full contact Karate.
No one trains for just sport karate though. All these WKF athletes are black belts in traditional styles, they just choose to compete in semi-contact rules. In a real fight I would bet on the sports karate guy over a traditional one who doesn't compete.
sport karate guys are having successful transition in mma
Thanks man this helped me. I had a competition today and I got gold medal
In which championship
Hi Ezio👋
Aren’t you supposed to get a trophy
Congratulations
unbeliveable Zeke and karate ? 😂
You Forgot to add: play dead like what happened in the final Olympic . And you win 🥇
I just went to a karate competition and I got disqualified cuz they made changes in the rules. You won’t believe me when I say this.....
*No Hitting*
lol
It should be a perfect pull back otherwise no points
so what do you even do?
@@BlixtSaiyan cant get u
Omg
Came here from seeing 2021 champion get silver.
Same here 🇺🇸
I don’t know the rules yet and it’s why I’m watching this video but regardless Iv seem to many men and women lose their medal bc of precise strikes that land with speed not necessarily a bunch of power just precision and speed that has created brilliant technique! 🌎
Firstly, the video is well made, its content is communicated clear. Good job on that.
Secondly though, in my opinion as a Shotokan Karate practitioner/karateka this looks very unappealing as a form of combat competition. It looks so far removed from the source of Karate. Is this really how we want to represent our martial art, it makes karate look so weak, and it may even be producing weak Karateka. Its disappointing to see the martial art that I love so watered down looking. I really hope this changes in the near future.
I Saw other video. They train combo strike with punch and Kick. Unfotunately that won't happen because after one hit punch, the referee Will stop and give point. Rule in TKD match is better. Rule in karate kumite is a joke
Kyokoshin Karate culture is the closest I have seen karate come to MMA/full contact.
TKD and Karate point sparring is the alternative choice for low contact whilst keeping a competitive edge.
Ultimately if you are looking for something that is most effective in fighting prowess... Then you sould sign up at your local MMA gym.
I still think there are benefits to point sparring culture, like fitness, coordination, athleticism and occupying the competitive psych...
@@orlonarsino6729 Orlon, I have experience in many forms of martial arts, and I also have experience in MMA, but the one that I love is Karate. Karate has so much more to offer than what we see here in this video. I don't think we are doing our students justice by having them compete like this.
@@petrolhead001 What do you mean? What specific culture/style are you refering to ?
@@orlonarsino6729 I'm not referring to any one style, but any Karate style that would use this format for competition. Kyokushin tends to use a different system, this will most likely apply to Shotokan if you want to pin it down, as most Shotokan will compete under WKF formats.
Nice video...very informative.
I m black belt and also gone through tournaments many times but no one taught me this criteria.
Muy buen vídeo deberían de hacer mas de este tipo... Sigan así 😍👏💚
when i competed none of the front kicks i landed were scored. after the fight i was told that kicks delivered from the front leg would not count.
i have respect for the competetors but that is not karate, it is laughable and unrealistic, no wonder most other martial artist laugh at us
lick lack .....I asked ..the scoring kicks .. by front leg ...and now I got the answer.....
u can score points with the front leg only if u punch the opponent to the head, u were probably punching too hard and that is the reason why u did not get points but u probably have noticed that they don't give u all the points u have get
prrobably because gront deliver is much weaker
ilia chachanidze not always because you can put your body weight into it, it’s also faster
You Can Kick with the Front Leg but it must be an Ippon
Thanks! I have a compteiotion coming up and Now i know how to score. Its my first time in kumite becouse ive been only play kyokoshin!
Bel filmato, ben costruito, comprensibile per tutti, Complimenti!
Most important technique: pretend to be knocked out. Convince the judges and you win.
This was good to see use karate technique, bcz I won all level match in district levl got gold national level got gold and international level in Malaysia also got gold tnq for this vedio
Thanks for the detailed explanation.

A good video for Karate Rules
Thank you so much for g rules
i miss the old karate, and old rules...

Why?what were the rules?
@@cutiepie6303 Every significant hit landed would be a 1 point. There was barley restrictions and you didn't have to do certain moves to get points
@@cutiepie6303 Significant hits mean if your opponent is shaken up or on the floor
Can you also do one on the fauls and the categories? p.e. grabbing someone
Cant wait for my first comp
Serious question: is it a must that you have to bounce constantly on your feet? Or could you have the movement of a boxer and have a different guard?
Jonathan Delgado no not a must at all but they do it as it helps with speed and power
Ok thank you!
With those rules, speed is more important than power. Bouncing allows you to literally jump at the right moment towards your opponent. You can't do that with a rooted stance. However, you should not bounce like they do on the video : you have to bounce "one foot at a time" (hard to describe in a you tube comment but basically, what I mean is that you must always have at least one foot on the ground). If you bounce with both your feet, then there is a moment when you no longer touch the ground. If the opponent sees that and sweeps you, that's game over.
You are opening our body too much with a boxing stance
You probably aren't going to win with a boxing stance/close distance stance
Thanks Sensei it's help lot for kumite Traning.
Thanks you so much 😉😉😉

Tres beau point
I like Sabaki rules
Came here from seeing 2021 champion got gold
this type of karate is not a mariral art... it gives flase confidence and the delusion that you know how to fight, while you actually DONT. Old school Okinawan karate, muay thai, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, bjj, and offcourse mma, are the main arts that will truly teach you how to kick ass.
After 9 years of training karate I went to a lot of competition recently I went to a competition and I was not fresh because I haven't gone for 3 years and I hit the guy in the face but they put a foul on me and when I kicked the guy on his head a bit hard they put a foul I don't understand there rules.
Please make its part two
thank you so much, I won today, 🇧🇩😄
Thank you
Do we always have to shout(for example "KIA") whenever we attack? Will I still get my points if I hit my opponent, but don't shout?
Yes, the "kiai" is necessary to make the point count. But you don´t have to specifically shout "kia" it can be any "scream" you feel like going with.
Yes you have to shout or you will not get point
Thanks a lot
This is kinda different from my style.......
I practice kyokushin kaikan..... Can u make a rule one of that style? Thanks.....
Hello WKF Karateka! Do the kumite rules gave a score to a Mae Geri hit?

Very important
Yuko (A) = 1 point
Yuko (B) = 1 point
Ippon (B) = 3 points

Kyokushin vs that..... i don't have to say anything else
betonszaggató 8
1 straight punch to the head of kyokushin guy KO... dropped the Mic
@@RMON2K98 which fcking idiot will let to get a punch in You can clinch you can slip over the punch
Kyoukushin is way better in any way than this... abomination. True that kyokushin does not allow punches to the face, but that should only worry you if you are going against a real striker like a boxer, this olympic "karatekas" lack power, it is not that they are holding back themselves, it is that they dont put power behind the punch at anytime, just speed, light touch, score. (and avoid fouls for "hiting too hard"). As a Kyoukushin fighter you could just let them hit you in the face, you wouldnt even feel it. They cant generate power because they dont train for that, they dont know how to.
@@watch006 yeah we don't attack the head if we are on competition but we learn it and we learn how to block them
Nice
❤🎉🎉🎉 Thanks sir
I really hope to win after this 😊
I hope this works. Tomorrow is my Karate championship and I will inform you guys.
Motivational or nice video
Can u give me link of music in this video, pls!
Came here after seeing the 2021 Olympic athlete from Saudi Arabia get knocked out but still given the gold medal. Confused…
The Iranian got knocked out, the saudi was the one who got robbed of the gold for landing a perfect kick to a guy losing his guard and coming to the kick with his face.
The limitations of techniques they can use makes this seem not like karate at all. There are other techniques besides the ones they count. There are hook punches and uppercuts. There are hook kicks, side kicks, and axe kicks just to name a few.
good
Bring back full contact karate
I wil confused how to upo wazari and eppone thanks for explanation
I am black belt master. I am teaching to all of my students and my son
Why is it always the back hand that scores? Cant you get point if you connect with the forward hand?
1:52 hear in25x ...my cat stared at me
Yah 😂
Fun to watch, but this is why I never competed. He gets the point for the straight shot to the body while exposing his head in a way that would lose a real fight in a heartbeat.
Bro It's not supposed to be street fight is a martial arts with rules
I like it this way slight touch hit no one gets hurt (but sometimes ) those don't like this way then have your own organization and have your set of rules
Shotokan or Kyokushin?
Olympic: Shoto
What about full contact?
Olympic: Semi and Light contact
What happened to kumite being full contact sparring with a knock down system
This is not Karate. This is some points scoring bullshit almost like a game of tag! Old school Okinawan karate is the real deal!
Ok buddy i think ur stupid af cause theres 3 types of karate this is one of them Kumite karate
@@xprozhd889 hey buddy what's the third one bc I cant remember only 2 I could is kumite and kata
@@xprozhd889 Well I would not call this Karate since it is only a game of tag very loosely based on what once was the point sparring (kumite) of Karate. This may be a new kind of sport, loosely resemblant of some karate techniques, but it should not be called Karate, unless we want Karate to whitter down and dissapear. And I am speaking about any kind of Karate, Okinawan, Japanese, Traditional or Full Contact, does not matter.
@@bluebird0828 May be he was refering to the 3 common pillars of japanese karate: kihon (basics), kata (prearranged forms) and kumite (sparring). Either way I do not like how this withered down sports karate looks like. I would prefer for it not to be called Karate at all. Just name it point kickboxing, or tag point game or whatever. Just not Karate.
Mr SS91 ofc this isn’t karate, it’s sport karate it was designed for sport and competition.
it's my fayvorite sport i stading englesh pendant 1 mothes pardent donc
