Thanks for tuning into Appalachian Anarchy! We appreciate all the feedback and love, but I want to address a few comments labeling our music as AI-generated.
I'm the songwriter behind our tunes, very much human, and here to share our story. Appalachian Anarchy began as a recording project. When "Banjo Bloodbath" took off unexpectedly, we sped up releasing our music, which has been both thrilling and chaotic. Our goal shifted from a slow release to sharing our entire album, crafted over nine months, as quickly as possible due to your overwhelming support.
Not all of us are keen on being internet personalities; our focus is the music. In the digital age, where fame is often sought after, it’s hard to believe, but some of us prefer staying out of the spotlight.
For full transparency, I use a MIDI guitar for complex sections and other instruments whenever possible. As a classically trained guitarist who plays multiple instruments, I strive to capture the sounds in our heads, sometimes at odd hours next to a sleeping baby’s room, using both traditional and digital means. This mix allows us to create without the resources of a professional studio.
We dream of doing this full-time someday, but for now, we balance our music with jobs and families. Thank you for being part of our journey, and I hope this clarifies our approach. We’d love to hear your thoughts and hope you continue enjoying our music!

My dad was a bluegrass musician he played the banjo and guitar mostly the banjo and I haven't been able to listen to bluegrass music since he passed away but this I love it doesn't bring me to tears when I try to listen to it.

I can't help but imagine this in a Western Bloodborne-like game where you can get invaded by other players. It's just a small few ideas in my head, but the scenario I keep thinking of:

We've been talking about getting some CDs printed soon, just getting the funds together. Records are apparently pretty expensive to print... which, I expected to a certain extent, but wow! Small runs are insanely pricey. So probably won't print those anytime too soon.

this is really sick but i cant in good faith enjoy this project knowing that the artwork in the album covers are AI
I guess that's your call. But from our perspective, we haven't really made any money on this project yet (hopefully soon) - and we have families, full-time jobs, and little-to-no visual art skills of our own. We had a friend who made these for us because you can't put out music without covers and thumbnails, and they're cool friends who wanted to help. Yes, they used AI assets but also put a ton of artistic work in themselves too. We watched them make a few, and by the time they're done with all the Adobe illustrator and photoshop stuff, they didn't look anything like what the AI spit out from all the prompts. So, I'd say that's art.
We didn't realize AT ALL what this AI stuff was all about until we got a backlash about all the artwork. And some people thinking the music is AI because the artwork looks like AI, so its just been a mess - a hurtful mess.
So... we're talking with graphic artists and trying to figure out deals for the next round of songs that need covers/thumbnails. One idea is to paint them on canvas, photograph them for the cover art - then raffle the canvas off (100% goes to the artist as payment). We've had a few artist interested in that idea, so I think we're on our way to an AI-free artwork workflow. We'll get there.
In the meantime, I hope you can enjoy the music for what it is. We're doing our best with very little resources. This is just a fun recording project... not a big-time Hollywood thing.
