2010 AFL Grand Final- September 25, 2010- Final Quarter

The entire final quarter, starting 30 seconds in, of the 2010 Australian Football League (AFL) Grand Final, which was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday 25th September, 2010, between the Collingwood Football Club (The Magpies) and the St Kilda Football Club (The Saints). The 114th VFL/AFL Grand Final saw an official attendance of 100,016 spectators. The commentators for this Grand Final were Bruce McAvaney Dennis Cometti, Leigh Matthews, Tom Harley, Matthew Richardson, and Tim Watson. Ross Lyon was St Kilda's coach, and Mick Malthouse was Collingwood's coach.
The final score saw St Kilda and Collingwood draw, each side scoring 68 points a piece. As there is no extra time in VFL/AFL Grand Finals, due to the rarity of such events occurring, the Grand Final was replayed the following Saturday (October 2nd, 2010) in front of 93,853 spectators, with Collingwood triumphing over St Kilda by 56 points, handing Collingwood its fifteenth Premiership.

Vaxfacts: This was the third drawn Grand Final in VFL/AFL history- 1948 and 1977 were the first two. Collingwood is the only club to have played in two of those drawn Grand Finals- 1977 and 2010. As part of the Seven Network's broadcast, this was the first AFL Grand Final to be broadcast in 3D. It was also the first Grand Final where 'Skycam' was used.
In the aftermath of the third drawn Grand Final in 114 years, the AFL discussed the idea of having extra time in Grand Finals, rather than a replay, due to the logistic difficulties in staging another match. Ultimately, the AFL decided to keep the Grand Final Replay format.
This Premiership was the second that Collingwood had won since 1958, 1990 being the only other. Collingwood have won 15 VFL/AFL Premierships, making them only second to Essendon and Carlton on 16. Collingwood's main Premiership successed occurred early in the VFL's history- the 1900s, 1910s, 1930s and 1950s. Collingwood has the distinction of being the only club to win four Premierships in a row- 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930. Along with its 15 Premiership wins, Collingwood has competed in more Grand Finals than any other VFL/AFL team- 43 all up, clear ahead of Essendon on 30. This means that Collingwood have been runners-up in 26 Grand Finals, well clear of Essendon on 14. Collingwood's streak of Grand Final losses, particularly from the 1960s to the 1980s (8 in all), became a long-running theme in Australian football, and a term was coined to describe it- 'Colliwobbles'. At 12:45 in the clip, a familiar face can be seen in the crowd- Australian actor Eric Bana, who is a huge St Kilda supporter, and showed his support in a scene in the Adam Sandler movie 'Funny People'. At 16:04, along with Bana, a few seats down, Australian swimmer Michael Klim, another St Kilda supporter, can be seen.
Incidentally, Collingwood is the club that Vaxman80 is a supporter of.
