@@OwainapDewi Greece has a lot of archeological pieces in very good conditions.

@ Much consideration and caution was taken and a huge amount of money was spent on rescuing artifacts from Greece before the uprising against the Ottomans, lets not forget half of the Pantheon is destroyed because it was used as a ammunition dump, if it wasn't for the British there may be very little left.
@@OwainapDewi again, ignorance.
Precautions were not taken. It was savagely removed, disfiguring what was left of an already bad shape monument.
It wasn't destroyed because it was an "ammunition dump", it was a holly place, and the whole acropolis was a fortress containing ammunition, yes. But that was the purpose of a fortress at the time and it was always a fortress, before archaic Greece to ottoman empire.

Speed and Power Clarkson. Love the old trio because of their stupidity. Lol
I once watched a very big ship being launched and the head man at the yard put his hand on the side of the keel and pushed the boat forward with the friction of his hand. The ship was on rollers but he said they often had to give ships a push by hand down the slipway.
Strongmen challenges pulling a truck are also quite common. Its really all about overcoming inertia rather than moving the weight itself. The springy rope definitely was part of the reason the ship moved though. The energy was stored in the rope as the car moved forward and then when it sprang back it pulled the ship forward. Like a force multiplier effect.
I can’t wait to try this when I get home 👍🏽
Appreciate your Efforts.

Damn the elasticity in the towing rope till the very end😁
Now I want to see a tank pull a ship. Make it happen, Citroën.
The C3 didnt have to exert 13,000 tonnes to pull that vessel as it is floating in water, fluid mechanics and buoyancy did most of the job. The C3 merely gave it a push at the tip.
Exactly! Any human who could lift that rope from water would move it, just it would take a little longer. Basic physics.
@@steel-r_ua Lol you wouldnt even move it a inch. Just because its floating dosent mean its weightless. You clearly never tried to push a boat to see just how much resistance water makes.
@@Devil-dt9vc you'd just need to lift the rope up and lean into the opposite direction, that little force will be enough to move to boat. It just takes a hell of a lot of time to do so, but not much strenght.
It`s same like in space
Mass of object has no sense, it`s compensated by outer forces. You should fight only with inertia of object.

thing is even a snail would start pulling that ship given enough time
water isn't really fighting against the pull and once it picks up even the smallest amount of speed then thats that
Actually water have a lot more drag than you really knows and why the land speed record is higher than water speed
@@Thunderstormworld the reason why theres a difference is because its a death wish
if you hit certain speeds while its choppy you wont fly up you're getting ripped apart
im not sure if that's drag or not but i don't think thats gonna bother you with a ship that size
@@Thunderstormworld Although at some speeds the resistance (drag) through water is huge, keep in mind that the basic components of ship`s resistance are 1) wave making, 2) Wave braking and 3) frictional. All three components are predominant at higher speeds (especially the wave making). So towing at such a low speed actually (almost) only requires a force to overcome the huge inertia and give a tiny bit of acceleration. After that the ship will continue moving ahead for several meters due to her huge inertia once again.
It wouldn’t. A snail would not provide enough force to overcome the coefficient of friction of the water.
I wouldn't go with that snail analogy but it is inituitive that dragging a ship in water is 'possible' rather than dragging the same amount of weight on asphalt. That's what i think he is trying to say.
