Needless to say both are iconic bags and the one you choose to be your favorite is entirely up to you however I want to know. Are you team Birkin or team Kelly?

The rant at 16:24.... That is exactly my point about Hermès bags. I hate their preciousness. Most people who own them carry them around and treat them like little Buddhas (gods). I dislike possessions that literally posses their owners. They do more worshipping and fearing for their bags than they do wearing and using them. Your bags are in great colors.

I’m a Kelly girl because I prefer clean modern lines. The Birkin is gorgeous and the scalloped leather flap over the top is classic but there is something so streamlined and crisp about a Kelly bag. ❤️

Your Kelly is such a fantastic shade of blue! But absolutely Team Birkin all the way for me! It's an easier bag to carry. I like the Kelly's shoulder strap but really, the pros stop there, it's just not utilitarian enough. The inconvenience of the flap and turnlock closure is a design flaw. It's an elegant and structured bag, and leaving it flopped open makes it look really sloppy IMO. No luck yet finding the Constance of my dreams, but I was fortunate to try out one at the store, and I think it's a better choice for a shoulder bag compared to the Kelly. Just my 2cents regarding the Kelly, but I do have to say, your ostrich is indeed very beautiful!
Over time, carrying the flap of the Kelly open will damage it and strain it. The Kelly was made during the 1800’s but turned into a handbag in the 1950’s where it was popular to have a flap bag (similar to Chanel) and they always had to be closed by a flap. That’s why I’ve never been a fan of the Kelly because it’s never really been that easy to use, similar to a Chanel flap bag

Excellent, excellent video as always! You blue ostrich Kelly is beautiful and a perfect match for your eyes. I have an HAC and although beautiful, that drank thing is heavy! Put your clothing in it and carry it around an airport and you don't need the gym for a month! I have been around Birkin 40 cm and they are heavy too! Cheers!

Such a great video. The thing with luxury bag craze is that it should really match your lifestyle. When you spend your days at starbucks, soccer practise and grocery store :( it just makes no sense to be carrying such an expensive bag. You'd have to call the police if someone spills coffee on your bag !! That Kelly is such a star enjoy!

I have the possibility to buy a Kelly fron a trusted reseller here in Italy..it is a 35 black retourne Clemence leather from 2004 with silver hardware that I love. The price would be € 6900. The bag is in very good codition!! Do you think I should take the plunge? My ideal size and leather would be a Kelly 32 in Togo...I love black but it would take more than a year if I order from the store....I would like to hear your opinion!! Thank You!!😘😘❤❤

I am team Birkin! I have four Birkin 30s and only one Kelly in 32 (I think that is the right size???... the next size bigger than yours). Even in the 30, I can put everything in my Birkin. The 30 is not too heavy at all. I wear it open but I always put a scarf in it and over my stuff, so that no one can look in and just grab my wallet. I do love my Kelly but I find it annoying to get in and out of. I do close it but just with the middle lock. I let the straps hang down. But, buy what is right for you. You can't go wrong with either one. Oh, and someone spilled wine on my Blue Electra Birkin, and I thought I was going to have to kill them. I didn't say a thing and just rang to the bathroom. I lightly wipped it off and got it to the spa asap--all is good.
How do you feel about the bag liners? Or is that organizer? You know the ones for the B or K that organizes all your stuff? I ask only because I cringed when I saw you throw a pen into the Birkin 😳

love the color of your blue ostrich kelly, never seen that color before. Oh yes i know how you feel carrying your birkin bag. Got a gift from hubby years ago a black jpg 42 birkin. I´ve only used it once on our trip to Berlin, really heavy, suffered backache for quite awhile. Now i´m just using the mini black croc kelly, can contains only keys, cards & a lipstick pencil. Thats fine with me. I change my iphone plus to a smaller phone when using this bag. You are gorgeous, prettier than the actress Scarlett Johansson.
When you keep the Kelly open, doesn’t it put extra stress on the joint and create stretch where the flap attaches to the bag? I wish they would make the Kelly with a back pocket for phones. Thank you for your review! I wish the Kelly or Birkin would be more practical for the modern women. ❤️❤️

I would have switched the bags and worn the Birkin on the work day. When I go shopping I like a small bag (because its lighter) and for work I need to carry tons of stuff but it is literally only being carried from car to desk. Plus the Kelly would look pretty as an evening bag if you made it the star of the outfit (although I guess you wouldn't want anyone to spill a drink on it)

This was an awesome review and exactly what I’m looking for. I have always preferred the Kelly over the Birkin and you’ve cemented the choice for me. Next year I’m going to Paris and my aim/hope is to score a Kelly 28 in Togo leather in a classic colour - if not classic then this exquisite shade that yours is in...IF I’m lucky!! Xx
Your comparison is not fair because you compared two different size bags. The Kelly also comes in 35, which is the same size as the Birkin 35, but with a flap. The Kelly 35 holds a tad less because the base is not as deep as a Birkin. I can easily close my flap over the turnlock, as long as I am not trying to put the sangles on too. The Kelly 32 is also a roomy size, although slightly stuffer to access belongings if you have the structured Sellier vs the Retourne.

1st time watching this & love it! For me travel wise it is my canvas Garden Party GM (fits everything), everyday a Birkin 30 (lighter than the 35) and dressier events Kelly 32, formal my H clutch. I therefore covered all angles :) Love your channel!

I like to buy Birkin and kelly both. However, I would like the Birkin to have handles long enough to be a shoulder bag. I think it’s possible as a bespoke made. I was wondering if you know how much does bespoke costs? Secondly, is Birkin too heavy to carry? I have been hearing the reviews and most people say it’s heavy to carry and bruises the arms. To be fair I think the people put too much stuff in it - like carry a whole house. That would make any bag heavy. However, I do want to know if it’s inconvenient to carry around, sometimes one has a laptop to carry as well?

I have a Kelly 28 and a Birkin 25, I love them both! But they're so tiny, wish I also had a bigger version of either of them.

This was quite useful. But I think I would stay with the Givenchy Antigona series. I like having more structure to my bags with easy closures.
I can't recommend it enough. Based on this video, you'd really enjoy the small Antigona. I have a mini and a medium. The mini wouldn't fit your notebooks and your things would just knock around in a medium. Just make sure you explore the shoulder strap hardware. I don't have a problem with it, but some people find it annoying. I have the pebbled goat skin for my mini and my medium and find it very versatile for casual to smart/business wear. My mini is my daily bag, the medium I use for business when I need to take my MacbookAir with me.

You should use little pouches to put your little things NOT throwing all your junks inside your bag. It is a matter of organization but if you're kinda slab...that is a problem

Did you say cobalt? I would never have guessed that would be how the color looked! its more of a teal/turquoise. Honestly my fav color in a kelly ever now. I always like Electrique blue but especially in the ostrich the cobalt looks amazing.
I think I may have discovered my new fave hermes color. I always imagined cobalt would be more of a well...cobalt color LOL. Like closer to royal blue which I hate (primary colors) and its ironic that I love electrique blue but whatever. I am obsessed with the 'dusty rose' color, I can never remember the name. I also love etaupe with gold hardware. hell, I love blue jean too. there arent many colors i dont like though at hermes except the greens (again ironic bc its my fav color) but i loathe the malachite and bamboo colors. i like the emerald in croc but not in the normal leathers. and i weirdly like the vert anis...even though its kinda hideous. reminds me of something and i have no idea what but i like it.

you can do it! great goal! Iam not sure regarding weight...there are many leather types. best to ask each individual sales person about each bags weight.
I have both in black 35 but I like mine used and the leather soft I don't like new bags.
Must be hard to find your stuff if you put them altogether in the biggest compartment of your bag.

The whole behaviour of being delicate with a bag. Doesn't sit well with me. I'm generally very careless/clumsy I drop my phone at least 10 times a day and the bags I carry dumped around. Keeping in mind I've only ever owned a designer Micheal Kors bag. I always say to myself I'd like to save and buy a givenchy or ysl bag . But that you need to be delicate won't work with me xx
