I wonder if the fact that Whitney doesn't cry when you win in the rematch is a sign of growth? When you get the badge initially she cries and the lady in her gym remarks "She always crys after she looses." I wonder if I'm reading to much into this. (Similar thing for Clair)

Definitely a sign of growth. But at the same time who would cry or complain about losing a battle to trainer in front of Gym Leaders from your region and a different region right next door as a gym leader yourself

I'm one of the few that actually disliked the johto remakes. Crystal is just a much better game overall in my book
No matter, everyone is entitled to their own opinion... I'd like to stand with mine since these were the games that got me into the franchise and for a very long time there, typhlosion was my favourite Pokemon

HGSS Saffron City: “Are you challenging me, Scoob?”
One is run by a former Champion with 18 year win streak and 70 plus years of experience. While the other is run by a bunch of BlackBelts that got owned by Sabrina, Red, and Chase.
Who then upon defeat, begged for them to not take their "Gym" Badge/Symbol, but instead instead bribe them with a free Pokemon. The only challenge they represent is of other visiting gym leaders, outside of their members. Who are only there to rematch the player and leave if fought, or their time frame is up. Yeah no comparison.
Pretty long but it's finally done! Enjoy these battle and please don't take my fight seriously.
The only true mistake I've made was from 13:10 until 13:53 because that was funny. x)

-I love preemptively setting up Stealth Rock on Bugsy so that his Shedinja gets KO’d as soon as it comes out.
-Delcatty for Whitney fits her, but it really ends up being free EXP.
-I feel bad for Pryce if the only free slot in his weekly schedule is specifically Monday mornings.
-Clair’s rematch team is basically Diet Lance’s Team. Willing to chalk it up to them being cousins.
-Not entirely sure why Surge has a Pachirisu, but maybe he has a secret soft spot?
-I like that Blue basically brought back his Tyranitar from Gen 3, but that means he now has 2 Rock-types and 3 Pokémon weak to Water-type moves.
Well Surge’s signature Pokémon is a Raichu; of course he loves cute things

Lt Surge was ahead of the game. He saw great potential in Pachirisu years before Se Jun Park won Worlds
Y'know... it's certainly interesting to see that all the Gym Leaders at the Fighting Dojo use 6 Pokémon instead of 5. At the same time though, this means there's no arbitrary reduction of Blue's team to 5 Pokémon, unlike what they ended up doing with Hop and Leon in the Champion tournaments in SwSh. I'm sorry, I really like SwSh, but reducing Hop and Leon's teams to 5 Pokémon for postgame Champion tournaments is still easily one of the most baffling things in that game to me.

GoldRichness RS that’s an anime reference, to Ash’s battle against Tate and Liza. He chose Pikachu and Swellow as his two Pokèmon, and the infamous finishing move was Pikachu using Thunder upwards so it landed on top of Pikachu and Swellow, But Swellow had conducted the electricity and used it to deal more damage with its final attack against Solrock and Lunatone, which won the battle for ash. It’s all just stupid and bullshit and that’s what everyone remembers it for.
It really show's you that a lot of the gym leaders are holding back on you

One of my favorite parts of these games are the gym leader battle music.
It always surprises me that Jasmine’s steelix is higher level than a ton of the other gym leader’s strongest Pokémon, both the Kanto and the Johto roster. I always thought if the player wasn’t the champion, she’d be the next best candidate for champion.
Maybe it’s to balance out the 2 magnemites?

I'm just going to be honest. The gym leader rematches and the trainer customisation in the recent games are my two favorite features in any Pokémon game.
I really use this for training my other pokemon except for Clair. She's too hard to train my other pokemon with the main team. Whitney might be another option, especially when she hits my Haunter with her Miltank's body slam, paralyzes it, and puts it in major damage, even though my Haunter is several levels above it.
Haunter is a ghost type, so body slam shouldn’t be able to hit
How can haunter be effected by body slam?What is this the anime?
There's an ability called Scrappy that Miltank (and other Pokémon such as Kangaskhan) has that lets it hit Ghost types with Normal/Fighting moves

Scizor's Bullet Punch hitting Togekiss is like it were a Fairy type it is starting in Pokemon X and Y but in Heart Gold and Soul Silver its Normal and Flying
I love Clair because i love Dragon Type and Gen 2 is one of the best about pokèmon creations, but i have to say Whitney is the most difficult, especially at the beginning with that Miltank

Most of the Johto Gym leaders really don’t stand out. The 4 that truly stand out are Jasmine for her youth and Ampharos mission (alongside her admittedly scary rematch team and it being the only one to have non JohtoDex Starter), Clair for her Dragon Trainer Status and extra trial post-battle, Morty for his design and rare Ghost Typing (and being the gym leader I struggled on the most), and Whitney for her design and difficulty (even though I dealt with it on my first try with a lucky burn, no joke). I will say that the 3 female Gym Leaders have the most interesting personalities, with Jasmine being a caring trainer for Pokemon she doesn’t own, Whitney acting like a little girl after a loss in her gym because, she kind of is one, and Clair refusing to admit defeat. Falkner, Buggzy, Chuck, and Pryce all just get lost in the shuffle

Falkner stands out to me because you have to complete Sprout Tower before fighting him, and he has a really cool gym in HGSS. Otherwise I mostly agree with you.
I Love Falkner Because of his stance and his hand when the introduction starts. But my most favorite is Clair because she has somewhat a relation ship to lance or something

Sad that even with the influx of Dragon-types across the four generations, Clair _still_ only has a team of three _true_ Dragon-types. Why not a Shelgon or Salamence?

Every Gym leader can be called at a precise moment of the week but of you don't challenge them the sale day you called them they stay there, so in order to have all of them in the dojo you just need a week

If I remember correctly, each Leader can be found at a certain time and place to give you their number. They need to be called within a timeframe on certain days of the week for the rematches (an online guide will help that).
They’ll stay at the Dojo until you battle them.

My favorite jhoto gym leader is Falkner, ok he may be the weakest gym leader in Pokemon with that lv 7 Pidgey and the game forces you to go to the Bellsprout tower the gym for training but I like him for his design, is pretty cool his Pokemon are too I always loved Staraptor and Pidgeot designs and when I played this game my dsi had battery problems and every time I turned on my dsi the date was always set on 1/1/2000 and it's Saturday so I can always challenge Falkner
I think Chuck is easier than Falkner so Falkner isn't the weakest gym leader

Good showcase but I swear, watching this really reinforced the idea that playing on switch mode makes it soooooooo easy. Means you’ll always always have a positive matchup so there’s no reason why you can’t just muscle through the game. Just my opinion though

Was there a reason u started whitneys battle at low hp or just didnt heal?
I can understand dragging the battles out, but I can never understand how anyone doesn't use any healing items in-battle & let their Pokemon faint, especially in the recent games since the Pokemon won't receive any exp.
@@Jamieb1994 its a nice challenge to not heal in battle since it makes u think a little bit more with each turn since you cant just rely on brute forcing the battle by heal spamming.

Miltank can be cheesed with a female Rock type
Andrea Troiani no no you need a fighting type to destroy Miltank and you need female Pokémon so attract doesn’t affect
Carlos Zerpa I had a full team of female Pokémon at the time so I thought attract was useless until I used my male Ariados.
Well when I battled Miltank it MISSED A ROLLOUT. Although it hit the 2nd time, it wasn’t a big deal. That 2nd Brick Break slammed that Miltank to make it faint. And I won.
