Great video! The vast majority of their products are phenomenal! There are a couple that have been released recently that seem to stray a bit from their status quo of high-quality, affordable, and design aesthetic, but they are still solid products.

I have the U100 lock, I love it. The mini switch and the M2 hub was being a HUGE pain and the U100 wouldn’t talk to the hub. SOOO I got the plug in m1s Gen 2 hub. We will see how that works

I have tried to pair non-aqara zig bee devices to an M2 hub and they do not work. Are you saying that the camera can act as a “universal” zigbee hub?

I read there’s no way to turn off automatic cloud upload to Aqara in China even if you use HomeKit for set up, is this true? Also, are the advanced features only available via the Aqara app?
Not sure where you read that. But No, its wont. For other features, yes! Most the time, Homekit still lack for other feature. Understandable as apple didn’t manufacture the product, so they dont have such other features like control the voice, more colour for the light etc
I bought a bunch of their stuff 2 months ago. It all works amazing, but they jacked up their prices a week or two before Prime Day to simulate better deals. The Prime Day price in July is only a few dollars off or no different than what I paid back in May. Their door sensors are actually more expensive on Prime Day than regular price. Great brand, but shop smart.

Its really quite annoying the way RING have ended desktop support and for that privilege you pay £8.00 a month (UK sub). Even TAPO bills - but their desktop support crashes on Mac - the stability is poor. I am a big advocate of home based CCTV and i think ALL of the smart home / video doorbell companies should come together and have standardised desktop support / mobile handset applications so all you need to buy is the hardware and the rest is as expected.

If ypu're gping to use stuff like this make sure the system is hardwired and not wireless. Home burglars for the past few years have been using wi-fi jammers to render wireless security systems useless in California and many other parts of America. The jammers are easily available online now.
I think it only works on old device. The door locks released in recent years are basically impossible to crack this way.
