"Manipur is important, PM Modi must visit": Rahul Gandhi

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday visited Manipur for the third time since ethnic violence had broken out in the north eastern state. The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha visited relief camps and took stock of the ground situation. In addition, he visited the governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal. "Manipur is an important state of India, PM Modi must visit the state," said Rahul Gandhi urging the Prime Minister to visit the North Eastern state in light of the ethnic clashes that have been raging for over a year, and have claimed over two hundred lives and displaced thousands. Although the Prime Minister spoke on the Manipur issue comprehensively twice in the Parliament, he is yet to visit the strife-torn state.
Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi had visited the flood affected regions of Assam and visited the victims in the relief camps.
