The jacket turned out beautifully. The use of the same striped linen for lining the jacket that was used for your pirate petticoat was a great idea and look lovely. I also loved the tailored method of sleeve construction having never seen it before. I only discovered your channel recently, but I've been thoroughly enjoying your 18th century content. A delightful video! I enjoyed watching you carefully hand sew the jacket using the various stitching techniques of the eighteenth century. I love you choice of fabric, and enjoyed the glimpses of your pirate fabric peeking out underneath the beautiful brown floral.

I felt the urge to make myself a better jacket, so I searched CZcams and found your awesome video. Thank you! Your fit tips will be so helpful. Since I don't know where to find a bodkin, I've been using a darning needle to lace up stays and my beginner's jacket. It's blunt so I don't stab myself, but has a wide enough head to fit twill tape while still fitting through the eyelets. 😁

That sleeve trick is just magical! I'm new to your channel, so I'll check if you've done a different video about just that technique, but if not could you? To show the inside and outside after it's complete? the turn happened so fast and easy that I can't visualize it! LOL! It's like a magic trick.
I can do that, that's a good idea (also sounds like an easy to edit video - I've been in an editing slump lol)

This is lovely work. Your stitching is exquisite and your work is well cut and nicely made in general. You explained each stage well so your the process was easy to follow. Yeah! I think the construction process is about efficiency when sewing - why sew a lining and a fashion fabric layer individually when you could just stitch them together as one? I really like the process though.

Thanks! Usually, a bum roll ties around the waist, under the petticoats but over the stays. It's basically a pillow with a ribbon at the top to tie around the waist, if that helps.
