  • In this video, Dr. R P Singh, Sr. Interventional Cardiologist at Healing Hospital Chandigarh talks about 5 Must Follow Rules/ Important Precautions After Angioplasty (Heart Stenting). Angioplasty is a procedure used to open blocked coronary arteries caused by coronary artery disease. It restores blood flow to the heart muscle without open-heart surgery. In modern angioplasty procedures, a short wire-mesh tube, called a stent is inserted into the artery & is left in place permanently to allow blood to flow more freely.

    Well....I broke all five rules so far. Doctor went on vacation. VA (Veterans Administration for those that dont know) told me that the stent and heart attack is a non-emergency condition, and therefore is trying to end me with pain meds (I have a broken spine, cervical fusion, and lumbar, survived intestinal cancer, which means my diet is limited to three things or else I have severe bleeding)
    So, stopped taking the cholesterol, because I ran out, and alternate the other stuff. Causes pain, cant sleep, and I end up taking too many pain meds (its so bad I lost three molars in the past 3 weeks from grinding my teeth in my sleep). Cardio doc is out, VA cardiologist wont see me for a few more months. Food is only red meet. Anything green causes intense craps, and GI bleeds (fun!). No regular checkups...and cant do the cardio workout. It causes intense lumbar pain. The treatmill, bicycle machine, none of those are good.
    Lifting weights helps with the pain. So I went back. I dont care anymore. Yes, I push hard, strain myself, but thats how you work out. So I do sleep better, but do feel chest pain after, though Im not sure if its pectoral muscle pain from strenuous activities or heart angina. Oh well.
    To be honest, the doctors dont really care. Im a man, and I dont get the best treatment. So, I might as well live comfortably for however long I have.
    I still smoke too. They even told me to keep smoking at the VA, as long as I dont take more pain pills. They also wanted to give me Ambien and Xanax...because I need more addictive medicine.
    Dont know why Im commenting. Just screaming into the void. Though, I will say, the human body is very tough and resilient. Im amazed I can still lift.

      I'm in the same boat as you, brother. Va doctor just keeps prescribing meds. After my third heart attack and stent placed, I was told that my body produces too much cholesterol so they prescribed statin medication. This was back in 2017, and honestly I have been doing better. Take care.

    • @Rosskles
      @Rosskles Před rokem +1

      From what I've seen from the past few years viral infections can cause inflammation around the body and that may cause further complications if there are any narrowed arteries.

      @@Rosskles
      I remember a doctor explaining that most ailments can be conected and traced back to a time when a different problem occurred but that it remained untreated. It was explained that the infection which creates the heart disease is very similar to the infection that causes gum disease from years before and which was not treated properly. Apparently, the narrowing of the arteries was caused by the white blood corpuscles being killed by the infections that stemmed from gum disease and if proper treatment had been carried out in the beginning to remedy the condition it may not have advanced to become a heart disease.
      What's your opinions ?

    a big problem with stints is that they have a short lifespan, this can lead to another heart attack as they fail.

      What studies, any reference available?
      Stents are used primarily to open arteries (65-100% blocked) to enable immediate function. How can diet, meds do this as an emergency measure? Makes no sense.

    • @lashedbutnotleashed1984
      @lashedbutnotleashed1984 Před rokem

      @@alierem4266 A 65% blockage in an artery will usually have no symptoms and is not necessarily that dangerous. There is still time to use diet and lifestyle in such a blockage. Now, if the artery is 95 or 100% blocked, then a stent can be a lifesaver. I had an LAD artery that didn't affect me in the slightest until it was 99% blocked. And even then the discomfort was relatively mild. An artery can become amazingly clogged before it causes problems. You must find out if it is clogged before a heart attack and make the lifestyle changes completely and immediately.
