He went so far out of his way to not name a trick after himself, out of all the tricks he invented. Such a great, humble individual.
He should have
"the larry" = half flip 50 no handed
Thank you Larry!
rodney is such a nice guy he just does a truck stand and calls it a larry lol
and of course none of the plebs on the show would ever know xD
well lots of tricks have nicknames. like laser flip, godzilla flip
“Basic Casper 360 flip” Oh Rodney, that’s not BASIC!
Now let's see Larry do it !
Jesus hes a legend, still rips
Yeah that's the incredible part! The guy _still_ totally rips on a skateboard and pretty much lands everything just about every try. Not saying he doesn't fall obviously, but its some legendary stuff!
It's the part where you fs half cab out of a truckstand that makes it a Larry check out 1:11 of Rodney's part in round 3 for a Larry in action
Yes, and "the larry" = half flip 50 no handed! Hehe😊
They're going to build statues of this man.
He did all these tricks and his boards cracked legend
Thanks Larry!
The Larry !
"the larry" = half flip 50 no handed
he shoulda called the ollie the rodney... missed opportunites
Alan "Ollie" Gelfand started skateboarding in 1974 after his father bought him his first skateboard. ... It would be another Hollywood skater by the name of Scott Goodman who would give Gelfand his nickname of "Ollie" and who would name Gelfand's accidental aerial lipslide an Ollie Pop. Rodney invented the FLAT LAND ollie.. BUT it was already a trick before hand.
@@Stubbla I still don't think _that_ ollie is remotely the same trick though. The trick Gelfand did was basically just an early grab air, without the grab. Given enough speed, you would get that type of air automatically and it wouldn't take much to stay on the board. Most of that was part of common tricks in snowboarding and surfing way before anyone ever rode a bowl. Keep in mind snowboarding of the modern variety actually started in 1965 (the 'snurfer' aka snow surfer, the origin is obvious). There's no pop and there's no sliding front foot up to the nose. The ollie on flat by Rodney Mullen is basically a masterful way of not using any kind of early grabs or monkey jumps (either two hands or with bare feet grabbing the board when you jump up) to get height. And the concept of 'popping' _absolutely_ only ever started with Rodney Mullen. Ironically Gelfand's original trick has more in common with a 180, than an flatground ollie.
Such an unexpected guest
