A bit of advice from someone 2 years in, find a new addiction.. unlike other drugs alcohol is too prominent and normalized in our society to avoid so find something less harmful to get addicted to. For some people it’s weed for others it’s nicotine, caffeine, exercise. Find a new addiction.
You can do it bro. Life gets better. One foot in front of the other.
Theo leaving king and the sting was literally his best move ever. He seems happier, funnier and his podcast is so much better now that he’s focused just on himself

Rainn describing the power of uplifting that Theo possess was perfect. I have genuine love for Theo because he hasn't allowed the money and fame get to him, he's still just a human trying to find his peace.
I completely agree with you. I think most people love Theo because he's the embodiment of someone we all knew in highschool. He's not branding himself, he's just out there being him.
He’s defo managed to keep it real during a time when seemingly not very many have kept it real

Theo is super thoughtful to his guests and really tries to find out about projects they are working on or read books they have out. You can tell he takes this really serious . I just love him so much
He claimed to have read the first 50 pages lmao
I've seen Rogan have guests on who worked for years on a book, and rogan didnt read a single page. And not only that, he immediately demands answers that come at the end of the book. I agree that you can tell Theo has put a good effort into trying to see what page Rainn is on right now in his career. Another comparison that comes to mind is tom segura having Quentin Tarantino on to speak about his new book. He didnt read a single page and barely even broached the subject of the book. He only had questions about his films. It would be like Theo having Rainn on and only talking about the office.
@@codirennke1109 I like Theo, he's entertaining, but I just can't get behind the idea that he's some profound interviewer. These episodes are 99% comedy in my opinion. For example, the John Mulaney episode was okay, but Theo didn't seem to know anything about him besides the fact that he was a former addict. At times it felt forced and awkward in my opinion.
Also, claiming to have read something doesn't mean he actually did. In fact, I think the only specific question he even asked about the book was literally on page 1. Rainn called him out on it.
@@mikejames7684 I thought this was a great episode. You don’t have to know a lot about your guest to have a genuine conversation with them
@@mikejames7684 he's not a profound interviewer. The only argument I'm making is that he seemed to have genuinely put an effort into prepping for this interview. I love theo. I love segura. The only thing controversial I might be saying is that rogan is over rated as an interviewer. And a comedian. 😬 but that's off topic.

I could listen to these two converse for another 6 hours. I wish I knew people who thought like them. Just to have a conversation about life like them.
It’s funny Rain says that about the fact that you’re so uplifting. My husband died March 28… and I have watched nothing but you and Bobs Burgers since … and I mean this when I say it… I think you’re the reason I am still alive because there’s been a few times where the idea was sounding really good to finish my time here on this plain but you always seem to pull me out of it … so thank you Mr Theo Von
Im proud of you, and I know your late husband is too ❤️
Very proud of you. We have a ridiculous insane chance of being born as us in this conscious mind of ours. It could have been any time period any planet. If our grandparents of G G G grandparents never bumped into each other we wouldn’t exist. We are so SO lucky. The cards fell in place and we take it for granted often

The axe in the butt reaction was brutal too
The best thing is that most of the time I can't tell if Theo is joking or not. Such an incredible human being.
Never change, Theo. You are amazing
its the sensation of awkwardness in the conversation that makes it so real. i absolutely loved it. the fact that sometimes the conversation flows is great. Good stuff worth watching
In all my years of listening to podcasts nobody has stood the test of time like Theo.
He is the most genuine considerate person and his platform is preaching love.
Thank you for being you Theo 😊
Theo spelling was almost him breaking character. Secret genius, his brain really is a fountain.
I believe Theo’s Mom was an English major in college, in fact I’m pretty sure she earned a degree in English. I know for sure she raised those kids to value reading, vocabulary and language skills. In fact, Theo blows my mind when he drops his guard a bit and his true knowledge and vocabulary shine through.
Its only a secret to people not paying attention
his hillbilly persona, is just that a persona, he wasn't raised as a hick, but he's smart in how he markets himself as one
More like “Fontaine”
@@schzti2455 you can most definitely be a redneck and be pretty smart at the same time.. matter of fact, most true rednecks are pretty damn smart. Not all of them are book smart but I can promise you they make up for it with common sense. I wouldn’t call him a “hillbilly” being from Louisiana.. it’s pretty flat down there. Lol I think Theo is probably somewhere in the middle. He’s smarter than people think he is but he’s not as big of a country bumpkin as he leads on. He’s still country though. You wouldn’t know how to even put some of his stories together if he weren’t. It’s not all just a “persona”.
Theo, you owe Rainn a hug.
The way you say "Niagara" and "Ontario" is comedy for us Canadians man : ) lol
I think Theo is doing exactly what God intended for him to do. He has brought together so many different kinds of people and is loved and admired and respected by those people. It is very courageous to be completely yourself, and Theo is doing a great job at it. Lots of love from Oklahoma!

I love Theo’s mean grin facial expression when he’s REALLLLY feeling what he’s saying 🤣 it’s the equivalent to a golden retriever showing his teeth when super excited
The fact that Rainn has been a fan of Theo for years was so sweet of him to tell him, but that would also be so surreal to hear. Like that dude has been in so much stuff, Rainn is a legend!!
"seeing a hot chic with a balanced check book and two heads of lettuce" killed me 😆
“Robin Hood!……….Tarzan!………..Robin Hood!…….or maybe it was Pierce Brosnan….” 😂😂
"Everyone knew but no one said they knew" had me rolling
The way Rainn describes his anxiety is exactly how I feel about mine. It is manageable but it’s a daily commitment to meditation, journalling, exercise, and staying in touch with loved ones that keeps me afloat. I have to view it as a medical issue otherwise I don’t take it seriously and easily slip out of my routine.
Yes. ❤
I feel this in every way. Here for you friend

Amazing podcast. What a guest. Theo and Rainn work so well together.
Around 1:00:00 when they start talking about God.. I do believe that understanding God as being a part of everything is a good stepping stone to finding love and joy connected to nature… knowing you’re a part of that… I read about Zen Buddhism when I was 19 and struggling with God and now I’m a very strong believer as a Christian… it’s interesting how He reaches you in a way that you need… I won’t call Him ‘the great mystery’ like Rainn says, but I will call him ‘I AM’ 🔥🙏

I love Rainn. The philosophy of boredom is one that I love talking about. Being a baby millennial, growing up without a phone, terrible dial-up, land-line phone, and pagers. I spent more time outside, drawing, reading, and running down the street to bang on my friends door. When I didn't, I usually just sat in my room playing with toys, or just being bored in general. But with the introduction of the internet readily at our finger tips....I have so much at my leisure to stave off boredom so when I am bored, it brings anxiety when it never did. Its sad. I've done so much to just...be bored. Sit there and just be. I wonder if my adhd kind of makes it harder to just sit and be bored with my mind, but I don't think so, maybe a little, but with social media and the dependency of it makes it hard to put the phone down. The Social Dilemma is my favorite documentary and interesting, highly recommend. What's even more sad, is it took me October 2023 to finally pick up a book again, when I haven't read in like 15+ years. I did it for fun. I feel for the younger generation not having a single moment of boredom, of silence, to just process the day and weigh their thoughts healthily. I empathize with both those who never had internet and then got it at the turn of the century, and then the ones younger who are 'ipad kids' and have brain rot. Being stuck in the middle gives me both perspectives and its interesting. Also the song Bored by Deftones is my favorite, so I use that as a device to get me hyped on just being bored. lol
The last 20 minutes of this needs to be made into separate video and shared across America. We definitely need change because what we are doing isn’t working at all. Loved this!
Enjoyed seeing the duality of Rainn’s past history of eccentric acting performances versus his current personal quest for philosophical fulfillment
Theo calling out Burt on his leaking air laugh is why Theo is the King
There is no mystery of why "This Past Weekend," is so loved. Theo spills the tea about what an asshat Jesse Ventura was as a guest followed by expressing his love for all things Michael Landon, then casually throws out memories about "sending those hams to Africia." Even his sponsor pitches are unique and funny. I think I've seen every episode. 😅
It’s pretty wild, Rainn was actually the “Roadmaster” host on Theos Road Rules season. What a full circle moment, so awesome to see how far they’ve both come!

@@chriswest7639 absolutely! Its worth trying it out sometime if you come across a problem you're having difficulty with. The other aspect though, is the fact that society doesnt really hold much in the way of moral values. For me, this meant that when i got clean and became a decent person i was seriously let down because i was under the impression that most people were as well adjusted as people who've worked a serious recovery. The truth is, thats not at all the case. Most people i encounter seem to have backwards morals and no desire to improve themselves. Its like a race to the bottom, and personally i strongly dislike it
