    Fantastic bit of film , got duke bar and Manchester Rd , love old stuff like that , life seemed much more simple then unlike now , although back then you probably struggled for different reasons, just seems better

    Towns should look like this, independent traders etc,if you wanted meat you go to a butchers,veg to a greengrocer

    Lots of coppers around the place. Could they be on the look-out for eligible young men dodging the war call-up!
    Have only ever been to Burnley about twice in my life, the last a few years ago for a couple of hours on my bus pass from Manchester, so can't say I'm familiar with the town's landmarks, but this old film from '40 must be of great interest to those who live in it or visit it often.
