    Great video. I did this job the other day. Just wanted to let you know I did not have to drill out the riveted frame. You remove motor first, then regulator is angled right to top corner. Please do more W124 videos. Thanks.

    Finally a video how to remove non functional motor power window without lowering window! Thank you very much for this tutorial. Mine 1986 W124, doesn't have that useless bracket that you have to remove hahaha

    working for MB and having access to good prices on genuine parts must be awesome.

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  Před 2 lety +2

      It is. Parts can still be crazy expensive for what they are though. I used MB parts where it counted. I've only used non-MB parts when I got tired of spending every cent I had. The motor mounts are a perfect example. The MB ones were going to cost me somewhere around $500 for the pair. That's why I went aftermarket. The aftermarket mounts have lasted longer than several people said they would. All internal engine components I replaced were genuine MB.

      @@FriendlyMBTech If i had access to that ordering portal i’d be spending days on end just looking up part numbers and seeing whats NLA and whats still available and the prices. Probably would end up very depressed 😅

    I just replaced the Fuel Pressure regulator on the 1994 R129 today. It's finally running perfectly! Now to tackle my passenger window. Thanks for this video, I'm sure I have some of the same type of components. Every time I turn the key on and hit the window switch it works for only a split second and then nothing until I take the key out and put it back in. First I changed the fuse, which was cheapest. Then it was the switch. Still nothing. I'm thinking it's got be bad brushes in the motor, or some limit switch in the door thinking the window is already down?? I Love these cars but they're a bit of a puzzle sometimes.

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  Před 2 lety +1

      I'm glad it's running well. You are correct about them being puzzles sometimes.

    Great video! I couldn't catch the repair of the wood trim on the door. Did I miss it? Also, what holds the windows in place as they go up and down do you know? My front left kinda misaligns when it goes down, and then straights when putting back up. Is there a repair kit for it as there usually is for these cars by any chance?

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  Před rokem

      You can see what holds the window at about the 9:35ish mark. They're just plastic guides in the channel. It's possible they are worn. All I dod for the wood trim repair was move a nut. The outer most nut was missing so I moved the one next to it to that spot.

    The window rolls up all the way but about a half an inch and then it sounds like a gear is skipping. What would that be?

    Re merc95 comment--my 92 300 E 2.6 's driver's side window motor isn't working, however it doesn't appear that the bolts are accessible unless the regulator is removed, since they appear to be in between the motor and the regulator, so there's no clearance without at least unbolting the regulator or am I missing something? Thanks!

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  Před 11 měsíci

      Sounds exactly what I went through in this video. The whole regulator has to be unbolted so the motor bolts are accessible.

    •  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Ah, I was hoping that there was a way to get it out with a minimum of disassembly, but I guess not! Thanks for the confirmation and your video! @@FriendlyMBTech

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  Před rokem

      Honestly, I don't remember. I am unable to look up the work instructions right now. MB is in the process of switching WIS programs and unfortunately the older cars are the last to have their instructions transferred to the new system. Right now I just get the massage "ERROR: Document has no content" when I try to look it up.
