I have a 2004 A3 and want to fit mfsw with Dsg paddles ,but everyone says not to do it because it steering wheel airbag is 1st stage and the steering wheel I want to fit ,off a 2005 A3,is 2nd stage.
That is true. Airbags are different. But I heard it can be done. I don't know how.

Thank you for this. I bought a mfsw 4 spoke wheel 8P0419091EF1KT for £23, cruise control arm 8P0953513B for £29 and fitted both, recoded with OBDeleven Pro. I didn't need to install the control module 8P0953549F that I purchased for £20, I currently have 8P0953549C. I kept the original slip ring. My car is a 2005 Audi A3 DSG 2.0 TDI. Everything is working perfectly, volume, station change and station search, no voice or mode function. Cruise control works 100% and remembers set MPH and can increase and decrease the speed. Very happy upgrade.
I didn't know that 8P0953549C is compatible with mfsw and cc. Good to know. So, 8P0953549C is highline control module. Thanks for this.

Vcds didn't ask me for a code like 11463. I remember this code from my old Golf 5. For A3 8P is different. My coding for steering control module is 3042. The vcds menu for coding is different for each module. I have 8P095354F. Look at your module, it should have 8 pin for sleepring, because a3 8p has dual stage airbag, that means 4 pins for airbag and 4 pins for mfsw + horn. I do not think 1K0953549BD is good for Audi A3. It is a steering control module. Of course it fits for some cars like aufi, skoda, vw, seat, bentley.. Be more specitic. Car model, year, what you want to do, what you have now, is this your steering control module...

I have a 2012 A4 with the same 4 spoke steering wheel you replaced. I was looking at replacing it with a Flat bottom TT steering wheel with no buttons and the circle air bag. Would this be able to plug and play into my car without the need for any replacement parts, since I only need the airbag connector? Thanks.
I know nothing about A4. I don't know if TT airbag is compatible with A4 airbag wires. Follow the link in description, go to home page, you will find details about airbag harness. May be it helps. Sorry, I can't do more.

8p70880201 is the airbag but the connector is different than the 4spoke airbag wheel that was in my car
My harness is the type two but I wanted to know if I should still connect it to the same slip ring, mine has 8 pins

If the sleepring has 8 pins (4 golden pins and 4 silver pins) ,it is good for mfsw and cruise control.

So this is what happened today :/
I tried to connect my new wheel off a 2009 both parts from air bag harness and steering wheel with paddles match what you said I needed , my car already has mfsw and cruise control. I only notice that my stock airbag and the new airbag safety orange clips were different . There were 8 pins gold and silver and the new airbag clicked into it fine … I attempted to run it since it all clicked in and bolted find . Expect when I connected my battery none of my cluster lights turned on , radio was off and window switches weren’t working. Kinda like immobilizer but I never seen it with the cluster off. Put back stock everything and still limp mode no cluster . Got a new battery since mine died from cranking car still same problem , stressed for 3 hours and messed with battery one more time and car turned on fine I had to turn the wheel to remove all the lights and now I wanna try again lol

Yes. Left rolling button controls the radio channels and the right rolling button controls the stereo volume. In my case, I didn't activate the other 2 buttons, because I dont't have navigation and bluetooth, yet. For me, is the next step.

Hi, I had 1K0 953 549 AH module and replaced it with 8P0 953 549 F, now controls are working but i have problem with power steering. Is it possible to fix it by coding (one guy that works with audis told me its impossible to code it and that i need to buy correct module) or do i have to buy another module and which one?
@@LukaOstojic-x1q 8P0953549F works for all 8P models. So, your power steering error can be fix by coding. Just be sure to not forget the steering angle sensor on the old control module, if yoir car had it on the controle module. Some cars has angle sensor near the engine, and some cars has it on the control module. And check the pins to be in good condition.

You can replace the steering wheel anytime you want, everything else will work, but the buttons will not work without coding. For coding part you need vcds. If you ever used vcds, is easy for you to follow the steps on my webpage. You don't need a video for coding. Just follow the steps.

It supports, but is different than 2006-2012. Your steering wheel is single stage. Is not dual stages. My webpage is based on dual stages steering wheels.

@@nichiforiuc Hello, i fitted the steering wheel so here is an update. It fitted perfeclty, slip ring is okay (has 8 pins), connected it and everything works except the mf buttons. Horn is working, F1 paddels are working too and the steering has light on it. If its possible can you just explain the coding a litlle bit to me?

No. You need 8P0953549F for 2004-2012 (NFL+FL), or 8P0953549K for 2009-2012 ( FL).

No. The functions are coded on steering control module. You have to replace steering control module . You need 8p0953549F.

I would like to do the same but with an Audi TT mk2 steering wheel (Same as S3 or R8, flat bottom). Airbag harness should belongs to the airbag of this steering wheel? What about Sleep Ring? I got an A3 Sportback, so I guess I need the 4door sleep ring part (I don't know why there are for 2 doors and 4). Thanks

My only question is about the Sleep ring.. Not sure if I need the 4 door or 2 because the airbag harness is of a TT MK2 airbag. But anyway I have to check if the one I got, it has 8 pines. Hope it does!
I think there is no difference between 2 and 4 doors. I tell you this because the steering column control module is asking you if the car is 2 or 4 doors, when you will code the steering wheel, or if the car is audi, skoda, seat etc.

I have 2008 A3 8P, I did have Mfsw install with Module 8P0 953 549F. After they did coding radio control is working but paddle shift not working. Person who installed it told me I did code the paddle shift but your car don't support. Is it normal or he did something wrong with coding, that's why the paddle shift not working.
If your car is automatic, the paddels should work. Wrong coding or wrong airbag wires. 8P0953549F is for paddels, mfsw and cruise control. So, something went wrong. I guess is the wires behind the airbag or wrong coding. Any automatic A3 8P support shift paddels.

Hi Bogdan, what would be the code for radio control and paddle shift no cruise control. My car is 2006 Audi A3 8P. Radio control works but paddle shift not. I did little research you think coding 0014142 would work. Or should be different.
The code is different for each car. It depends on car options. When you write the code, a help baloon will appear on the screen. It will help you find the right code. The vcds owner should know.
How did you get the esp light to go out I’ve tried turning the steering wheel from side to side it hasn’t worked??

is it possible to code the mode and voice buttons to function with an aftermarket head unit?
I've just installed an aftermarket android navigation. Both mode and voice button works. Mode change between dvd radio aux-in, and voice open phone app not voice control. It may be possible to customize every button but I did not have time to do that, not yet. Installed a few days ago. I posted 3 more videos on my channel, Unboxing, Installing and rear camera installing. In one week, I hope, I will post a review for navi. For now, I am still learning to use it. It has lots of settings. So, subscribe and wait for my review.
Bogdan Tiberiu Nichiforiuc I’ll keep an eye on your videos for sure. I’ve fitted a Pioneer Car Play stereo and works with the scroll wheels but not the mode or voice buttons. I’ll have another look through VCDS tomorrow and see if there are any options for individual button coding.
I had a look to vcds yesterday and found nothing. I tried steering control module coding for voice control. If you found something, please share to me. Also, tried Can gateway at instaled devices but nothing.

Gently remove the black plug from A4 airbag cable, and link it to the your old A3 airbag cable.

I have changed Steering Wheel, Controle module - 8P0953549F
My car had already had slip ring 1K0959653, required rewiring for Head Unit.
Had done Calibration, Adaptation. All MSFW functions are working but i have got ESP doesnt go off, Steering wheel is really hard to turn around, in VCDS car cant find Angle Sensor.
Can u please tell me how can i resolve my problem?
You have to remove the steering angle sensor from the old steering control module, and put it on the 8P0953549F.

Tu, pentru 8V, trebuie sa vezi ce calculator de coloana de directie iti trebuie pentru MFSW, si ce volane cu comenzi sunt compatibile cu masina ta. Principiul de baza e acelasi ca la 8P. Vezi cam ce este de facut pe site-ul meu( e trecut in descrierea videoului), ca sa iti faci o idee despre pasii pe care trebuie sa ii faci. Si apoi incearca sa cauti componentele care ti-ar trebui. Principiul de baza e acelasi. Din pacate nu te pot ajuta mai mult. Toate experimentele si documentarile le-am facut pe masina personala 8P. Poate in curand o sa ajung si eu la 8V si atunci o sa fac experimente pe 8V, dar pana atunci.....

Sunt pe insta dar nu il folosesc. Peddal shift doar daca ai cutie automata. Pt 8V gasesti volane f misto cu multe comenzi. Legat de calculator, cred ca e imposibil sa nu gasesti pe cineva prin zona ta. Si e cel mult 100 ron pentru activarea butoanelor.

Am pus volan cu comenzi de pe un a3 2010, spira este 1k0959653D. Inainte aveam calculator coloana 1k0953549F care era midline si am cumpărat 1k0953549BK care e highline (conform rosstech). Am făcut codarea pe steering wheel si radio dar tot nu merg comenzile.
Mi a rămas următoarea eroare pe radio:
0046-control module for steering column electronics (j527), 004-no signal/communication.

Inainte sa fac acest retrofit la masina personala, am citit cam toate posturile posibile din online, si toate schemele electice de A3 din elsawin. Am ajuns la concluzia ca sunt doar 2 cculatoare care merg pe A3 pentru comenzi volan: 8P0953549F pentru non facelift, si 8P0953549K si F pentru facelift. Modulul pe care l-ai luat tu, 1K0953549F este pentru comenzi volan VW. Nu am citit nicaieri ca ar fi compatibil cu A3. Legat de spira, daca are 8 pini(4 aurii si 4 argintii), este foarte buna. Tot ce am gasit online am incercat sa aranjez pe site-ul meu www.audi.homeradiatorsreview.com Arunca un ochi si pe acolo, pentru ca tot ce e acolo, e facut pe masina proprie. Poate te ajuta. E foarte posibil sa iti mearga foarte bine un volan cu comenzi de VW, dar nu cred ca asta iti doresti.
Am zis de 1K0953549F, dar ma refeream la 1K0953549BK, in comentul anterior.
@@nichiforiuc mulțumesc mult pentru răspuns. Am mai auzit de la cineva ca ar trebui un calculator care sa suporte LIN v2.0, iar al meu 1k0953549BK are LIN 1.3. Prin urmare din lista de pe rosstech, sunt cateva calculatoare ce suporta LIN 2.0, dar nu mă mai complic cu 1k0 ci o sa merg direct pe 8p0953549F.
Legat de spiră, da, are 4 pini aurii sus și 4 argintii jos.
Inca ceva, eu am radio cd original audi concert, deci trebuie sa funcționeze comenzile pe el, nu?

I din't replace sleepring. My sleepring has 8 pins. If you have 8 pins, you don't need to replace it. 4 pins are for dual stage airbag, and the other 4 pins are for horn and mfsw. The fault was Steering angle sensor - No or Incorect Base Settings / Adaptation , but i went to the dealer and they fixed it

Daca masina este dinainte de 2008, adica non facelift, va ramas senzorul de directie pe vechiul calculator de directie. Este o piesa micuta mufata pe calculator in partea de sus. Il demufati de acolo si il mufagi in aceeasi pozitie pe noul calculator.

In cazul meu nu a fost nevoie sa schimb spira. Daca spira are 4 pini aurii si 4 pini argintii, nu e nevoie sa schinbi spira. Am schimbat doar modulul. Vezi ca am scris totul pe pagina mea, linkul e in descrierea clipului.

Nu există modul gata codat. Modulul se codează pe mașina ta, in funcție de modelul si dotarile pe care le are masina ta. Vezi ca am scris pe pagina mea.

If you have steering control module 8P0953549F or 8p0953549K, slip-ring with 8 pins, airbag harness for mfsw, and the mfsw, you have all parts you need. After parts install, you need vcds for coding. Read my page, than ask me if you do not understand. Search for my email on my page.

It depends. The new steering wheel must be designated for A3 8P. If your old airbag is dual stage and the new one is single stage, you need airbag coding.
