No, he only did the trailer music. Giacchino is still doing the score, like he did with Homecoming (and Doctor Strange and its upcoming sequel).

@@griss2984 Oh yeah, I absolutely agree. I love Michael's scores for both MCU Spidey films. I know someone who wishes Homecoming was scored by Elfman though. I'm glad it wasn't Elfman because Homecoming is a more light film for the most part and it's very fun and the score it has fits the tone a lot better than Elfman's music would. I also really love the FFH trailer music and think it fits the trailer perfectly.

Peter Clouds or, you know, they might not be allowed to mix the original with a new work and make it the theme. That is infinitely more likely than them not wanting to take risks. I'd like to remind everyone that this whole movie is a risk because it's the third remake just outside of a decade.

Agreed, Jonathan. It also probably costs a fair amount to use any version of the original theme. It was definitely a lot cheaper to make their own version to be used as the main theme.

The avengers are beaten. Laying in the ground defeated, they got nothing left. Thanos is looking down at them, specifically at Tony Stark. Tony looks down at a radar in his wrist. Sudennly, a red dot appears and it's moving towards them (2:20 starts playing). Tony is shocked with a sense of hope in his face and looks backwards. 2:36 starts when the camera gets far from the Avengers heading backwards through the ruins of New york. Stops at the edge of a building. Then, out of nowhere Spider-Man jumps into frame (with 2:50) with the Iron Spider suit, swinging towards the Avengers and kicking Thanos's army's ass in the way. At 2:55 we get a close up of his suit while he's swinging in mid-air. At 3:02 he lands between Thanos and The Avengers and we get a shot of the Avengers in shock. From 3:06 to 3:16 we get a close-up shot of Spider-Man getting up from his landing (bottom to top) and his face appears at 3:14. Spider-Man looks back at Tony and grabs his hand when 3:20 hits helping him get up. Tony has a smile on his face. At 3:30 The avengers all start to get up to fighting poses and at 3:36 we get a finalized shot of them all ready to battle Thanos. Thanos is pissed.

Technically speaking. This theme has always been the official Spider-Man theme in the minds of the fan base. Making it the canonical in universe theme for him is just brilliant, and your Mashup of the techniques used in the Sam raimi theme, mixed with yours to the og sm theme. Absolutely brilliant. Deserves far more attention and an extended version

I don't know how many times I listened to this. Compare that to the one time I listened to the Giacchino suite. This has that element that Spider-Man needs. Not even just the classic tune. It feels properly 'weird' in a way Spider-Man needs to sound. Unique yet classic.

Absolutely phenomenal. I wish Homecoming would have this. I loved Danny Elfman, James Horner and Hans Zimmer's scores for Spider-man. They all hit the key elements for the theme. Giacchino's suite just isn't doing it for me. Maybe it will work better in the movie but so far, it doesn't scream Spider-man. It doesn't really scream anything.

All the movies had varying levels of movie quality but the music in all of them weren't horrible. Spiderman Homecomings soundtrack was the least best out of them. Sam Raimi still wins in both cinematic and music points.

When I hear this music, I do not think of some super strong Hero or world ending Villain; I think of Spider-Man fighting some bad guy, doing his best to stop him, and in his last ditch effort, filled with spite for Spider-Man stopping his plans, he makes something collapse to try to hurt civilians, and Spider-Man uses all his inginuity and stress filled physical prowess to save as many innocent people as possible.
So shocking beautiful. It makes me depressed that this isn't official. 😭
All I can say is that the movie title was right. Spider-Man has come home :´)

The reason why homecoming was simple is related to Peter Parker's beginnings. He's still just a kid that is starting out, so it doesn't make sense for the score to be complex and extremely dramatic, I think the evolution of the score will be in line with the character. That being said, I can totally see this one fitting for the later ones.

Giacchino's score for SMHC was better than Marvel's usual forgettable dreck (as far as music goes, at least, I'm actually a big fan of the movies themselves), and I'd say that Giacchino himself is a really great composer, but I think he totally phoned it in this time. He's totally capable of composing a better theme than this one (Squires') or the one he did. Doctor Strange, The Incredibles, and Star Trek are some of my favorite modern scores. But for whatever reason... he didn't. Rogue One was fucking beautiful, though, so I've lost no respect for him.

Giacchino probably phoned in for this because he prioritized War for the Planet of the Apes higher, the same way he did with Doctor Strange and Rogue One.
