In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Namor is the ruler of Talokan (ta-loh-kahn), a breakaway civilization that is descended from an ancient Mayan community and hidden in the depths of the ocean.
Talokan and the Talokanil (ta-loh-kahn-eel) are intended to reflect how a real community might have changed and evolved over time after being forced underwater and separated from the rest of their people and culture. The designs of the characters and city indicate not only their roots but how the ocean environment has become core to their way of life.
The Talokanil, like their Mayan ancestors, speak Yucatec Mayan, and hieroglyphic writing can be found in specific locations within Talokan.
The Talokanil are fictional and truly unique to this film. They are not intended to be ancient Mayans or present-day Mayan people.

Other Mexicans because some of us were darker than others, and I had dig in more into the Native books, when Cortez and Christopher Columbus came, they slaved my ancestors and taught them to be ashamed of themselves and against each other, some of the Spanish raped our women and had children called mestizos and this mentality is still going on, I hope that this movie brings some beautiful light and that we feel so proud and brown, especially in Mexico. Thank you so much for sharing this video.

@@kbeats1400afromex are so unique, and in a good way. Slavery was I Mexico was on such a small scale and was abolished in the early 1800s that they mixed with everyone community that you see many indigenous features in the whole population. I don’t say this to minimize them, I’m just trying to say that they, like any Afro-diaspora, is unique to situation they are in. If you look up Afro communities in Mexico, it’s pretty interesting.

I honestly really have such an affection for these two actors... I was so surprised to see the latin element to this film and also seeing such powerful female characters. I remember looking at my daughter and seeing her throw punches in her seat while seeing these bad ass actresses put on amazing performances and I was just so thankful for this female Bad-assery that was shown throughout the movie. This film will always have a special place in my heart.

He wasn't a villan be was defending his land Though misguided in attacking Wakanda.
I was very happy to see indigenous people as a Haitian women. Ayiti was inhabited by the Taino which is why the Haitians named Haiti in Haiti, but we pronounce it like the natives.
I am so happy as we celebrate our heavy black African ancestors but we also acknowledge Taino origins as they so fought and some integrated into the Haitians.
I also feel alot of kingship with South Americans as they to get othered as we are.
Funny thing I have always been attracted to South American men. Though I never dated one.
Maybe it's the spiritual practiced and the heavy culture, use of medicinal medicine, and hard work ethics.
Now there are many Haitians spread accross South America because of our countries great instability and our South America Brothers and sisters have allowed us refuge or passage.

"too much diversity"? no such thing, and kind of selfish to say that. You're acting like only black people have suffered. The civilization presented in the movie also suffered by the Spaniards and from there it was a decline of a civilization. Think big, Ryan Coogler is aware of that and wants to add more cultural knowledge to the MCU.

Namor was a villan in a sense of wanting to destroy Wakanda just because things didn't go his way. He is in charge of Talokan not the surface world if he wanted to fight he could have went to America since they wanted Vibranium and were determined to find it. Like his soldiers were powerful, they were many of people like them. They didn't need to be trained it just came with them to fight. They just needed Namor to say jump and they'll ask how high. I admired how he built Talokan and wanted to protect it but the wakandans only made the mistake of revealing how powerful vibranium is otherwise Talokan could have came for the ones who wanted to destroy his creation for wanting Vibranium. The language they spoke surprised me because I've never heard of it. So they were blue on surface but went to their original tone in water. I noticed when Shuri visited Talokan.
